Второе послание Солунянам 1
1 павел и силуан и тимофей, Церкви солунстей, о Бозе Отце нашем и Господе Иисусе Христе:2 благодать вам и мир от Бога Отца нашего, и Господа Иисуса Христа.3 Благодарити должни есмы Бога всегда о вас, братие, якоже достойно есть, яко превозрастает вера ваша, и множится любовь единаго коегождо всех вас друг ко другу:4 яко самем нам хвалитися о вас в церквах Божиих, о терпении вашем и вере во всех гонениих ваших и скорбех, яже приемлете,5 показание праведнаго суда Божия, во еже сподобитися вам Царствия Божия, егоже ради и страждете.6 Аще убо праведно у Бога, воздати скорбь оскорбляющым вас,7 а вам оскорбляемым отраду с нами, во откровении Господа Иисуса с небесе, со ангелы силы своея,8 во огни пламенне дающаго отмщение не ведущым Бога и не послушающым благовествования Господа нашего Иисуса Христа:9 иже муку приимут, погибель вечную, от лица Господня и от славы крепости его,10 егда приидет прославитися во святых своих и дивен быти во всех веровавших, яко уверися свидетельство наше в вас, в день он.11 За сие и молимся всегда о вас, да вы сподобит званию Бог наш и исполнит всяко благоволение благости и дело веры в силе,12 яко да прославится имя Господа нашего Иисуса Христа в вас, и вы в нем, по благодати Бога нашего и Господа Иисуса Христа.

Thanksgiving
3 We ought to thank God always for you, brothers and sisters,t and rightly so,t because your faith flourishes more and more and the love of each one of you all for one another is ever greater.
4 As a result we ourselves boast about you in the churches of God for your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and afflictions you are enduring.
Encouragement in Persecution
5 This is evidence of God’s righteous judgment, to make you worthyt of the kingdom of God, for which in fact you are suffering.6 For it is rightt for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you,7 and to you who are being afflicted to give rest together with us when the Lord Jesus is revealedt from heaven with his mighty angels.t8 With flaming fire he will mete outtpunishment on those who do not know Gods and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.9 Theyt will undergo the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his strength,ts10 when he comes to be glorified among his saints and admiredt on that day among all who have believed – and you did in fact believe our testimony.t11 And in this regard we pray for you always, that our God will make you worthy of his callingt and fulfill by his power your every desire for goodness and every work of faith,
12 that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according tot the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
