Saludo
1 Pablo, Silvano y Timoteo a la iglesia de los tesalonicenses, que están unidos a Dios nuestro Padre y al Señor Jesucristo.
2 Que Dios nuestro Padre y el Señor Jesucristo derramen su gracia y su paz sobre vosotros.Acción de gracias y súplica
3 Hermanos, siempre tenemos que dar gracias a Dios por vosotros, y es justo que lo hagamos porque vuestra fe está creciendo y el amor que os tenéis unos a otros es cada vez mayor. 4 Por eso hablamos de vosotros con satisfacción en las iglesias de Dios, por la fortaleza y la fe que mostráis en medio de todas las persecuciones y aflicciones que sufrís.t
5 Esto demuestra que Dios es justo en su manera de juzgar, al teneros por dignos de entrar en su reino, por el cual estáis sufriendo.
6 Es justo que Dios haga sufrir a quienes os hacen sufrir a vosotros, 7 y que a vosotros, que sufrís, os dé el descanso lo mismo que a nosotros. Esto sucederá el día en que el Señor Jesús aparezcat con sus ángelest poderosos, 8 cuando venga del cielo entre llamas de fuegot para castigar a quienes no reconocen a Dios ni hacen caso al evangelio de nuestro Señor Jesús. 9 Estos serán castigados con destrucción eterna. Serán arrojados lejos de la presencia del Señor, y de su gloria y poder,t
10 cuando el Señor venga en aquel día para ser honrado por los suyos y admirado por todos los creyentes. Pues vosotros habéis creído en el testimonio que os dimos.
11 Con este fin oramos siempre por vosotros, pidiendo a nuestro Dios que os tenga por dignos de haber sido llamados por él, y que cumpla con su poder todos vuestros buenos deseos y los trabajos que realizáis impulsados por la fe.
12 De esta manera, el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesús será honrado por vuestra causa, y él os honrará conforme a la bondad de nuestro Dios y del Señor Jesucristo.

Thanksgiving
3 We ought to thank God always for you, brothers and sisters,t and rightly so,t because your faith flourishes more and more and the love of each one of you all for one another is ever greater.
4 As a result we ourselves boast about you in the churches of God for your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and afflictions you are enduring.
Encouragement in Persecution
5 This is evidence of God’s righteous judgment, to make you worthyt of the kingdom of God, for which in fact you are suffering.6 For it is rightt for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you,7 and to you who are being afflicted to give rest together with us when the Lord Jesus is revealedt from heaven with his mighty angels.t8 With flaming fire he will mete outtpunishment on those who do not know Gods and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.9 Theyt will undergo the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his strength,ts10 when he comes to be glorified among his saints and admiredt on that day among all who have believed – and you did in fact believe our testimony.t11 And in this regard we pray for you always, that our God will make you worthy of his callingt and fulfill by his power your every desire for goodness and every work of faith,
12 that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according tot the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
