1 t t Paulus, Silvanus og Timoteus helsar forsamlinga i Tessalonika, i Gud, vår Far, og Herren Jesus Kristus.
2 t Nåde vere med dykk og fred frå Gud, vår Far, og Herren Jesus Kristus!Dommen når Herren kjem att
3 t Vi må alltid takka Gud for dykk, sysken, som rett er. For trua dykkar veks seg stadig rikare, og kjærleiken de har til kvarandre, blir større hos kvar og ein av dykk. 4 t Når vi fortel om dykk i Guds forsamlingar, kan vi difor vera stolte over det tolmod og den tru de viser i alle dei forfølgingar og trengsler de må tola. 5 t Dette er eit varsel om Guds rettferdige dom, då de skal finnast verdige til Guds rike, som de no lid for. 6 For det er rettferdig i Guds auge at dei som fører trengsler over dykk, skal han gje trengsler att; 7 t og dykk som lid trengsler, skal han gje lindring saman med oss når Herren Jesus openberrar seg frå himmelen. Han kjem med sine mektige englar 8 tt i logande eld og straffar dei som ikkje kjenner Gud, og dei som ikkje er lydige mot vår Herre Jesu evangelium. 9 t Straffa dei skal lida, blir ei evig fortaping borte frå Herrens andlet og borte frå hans herlegdom og makt,
10 t den dagen han kjem og skal lovprisast mellom sine heilage og tilbedast av alle som trur. Og de har trudd det vitnemålet vi bar fram.
11 Difor bed vi alltid for dykk at vår Gud må gjera dykk verdige til det kallet de har fått, og fylla dykk heilt med vilje til det gode og med ei tru som med kraft viser seg i gjerning. 12 tt Då skal vår Herre Jesu namn bli herleggjort i dykk, og de i han, ved vår Guds og Herren Jesu Kristi nåde.
2 THESSALONIANS 1
1 t From Paul, Silas, t and Timothy.
To the church in Thessalonica, the people of God our Father and of the Lord Jesus Christ.
2 I pray that God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ will be kind to you and will bless you with peace!When Christ Returns
3 My dear friends, we always have good reason to thank God for you, because your faith in God and your love for each other keep growing all the time.
4 This is why we brag about you to all of God's churches. We tell them how patient you are and how you keep on having faith, even though you are going through a lot of trouble and suffering.
5 All this shows that God judges fairly and is making you fit to share in his kingdom for which you are suffering. 6 It is only right for God to punish everyone who is causing you trouble, 7 but he will give you relief from your troubles. God will do the same for us, when the Lord Jesus comes from heaven with his powerful angels
8 and with a flaming fire.
Our Lord Jesus will punish anyone who doesn't know God and won't obey his message. 9 t Their punishment will be eternal destruction, and they will be kept far from the presence of our Lord and his glorious strength.
10 This will happen on the day when the Lord returns to be praised and honored by all who have faith in him and belong to him. This includes you, because you believed what we said.
11 God chose you, and we keep praying that God will make you worthy of being his people. We pray for God's power to help you do all the good things you hope to do and your faith makes you want to do. 12 Then, because of the undeserved grace of God and our Lord Jesus Christ, you will bring honor to the name of our Lord Jesus, and he will bring honor to you.
