เรียน คริสตจักรของชาวเมืองเธสะโลนิกาt ในพระเจ้าพระบิดาของเรา และพระเยซูคริสต์องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า
2 ขอให้พระคุณและสันติสุขจากพระเจ้าคือพระบิดา และจากพระเยซูคริสต์องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า ดำรงอยู่กับท่านทั้งหลายเถิด
การพิพากษาเมื่อพระคริสต์จะเสด็จมา
3 พี่น้องทั้งหลาย เราต้องขอบพระคุณพระเจ้าเพราะท่านอยู่เสมอ ซึ่งเป็นเรื่องสมควรยิ่งเพราะความเชื่อของท่านจำเริญขึ้น และความรักของท่านทุกคนที่มีต่อกันทวีขึ้นด้วย 4 ฉะนั้นเราเองจึงอวดท่านต่อบรรดาคริสตจักรของพระเจ้า ในเรื่องความทรหดอดทน และความเชื่อของท่านในยามที่ถูกข่มเหงนานาประการ และที่ท่านอดทนต่อความยากลำบากนั้น
5 เรื่องนี้ชี้ชัดถึงการพิพากษาอันยุติธรรมของพระเจ้า ซึ่งจะพิสูจน์ว่าท่านเป็นผู้สมควรกับแผ่นดินของพระเจ้า ซึ่งท่านทั้งหลายกำลังทนทุกข์อยู่เพราะเห็นแก่แผ่นดินนั้น 6 พระเจ้าทรงยุติธรรม คือพระองค์จะทรงเอาความยากลำบากไปสนองคนเหล่านั้นที่ก่อความยากลำบากให้กับท่าน 7 และจะทรงให้ท่านที่รับความยากลำบากนั้นได้รับความบรรเทาด้วยกันกับเรา เมื่อพระเยซูองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าจะทรงปรากฏจากสวรรค์ พร้อมกับหมู่ทูตสวรรค์ผู้มีฤทธิ์ของพระองค์ 8 ด้วยเปลวเพลิง พระองค์จะลงโทษสนองคนที่ไม่รู้จักพระเจ้า และคนที่ไม่ดำเนินชีวิตตามข่าวประเสริฐเรื่องของพระเยซูองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของเรา 9 คนเหล่านั้นจะได้รับโทษ อันเป็นความพินาศนิรันดร์และพรากจากพระพักตร์ขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า และจากพระสิริแห่งพระกำลังของพระองค์ 10 ในวันนั้นที่พระองค์จะเสด็จมา เพื่อรับพระเกียรติท่ามกลางธรรมิกชนของพระองค์ และเพื่อเป็นที่อัศจรรย์ใจในท่ามกลางผู้ที่เชื่อทุกคน รวมทั้งพวกท่านเพราะท่านก็ได้เชื่อคำพยานของเราด้วย 11 เพราะเหตุนี้ เราจึงอธิษฐานเพื่อพวกท่านเสมอ ขอพระเจ้าของเราทรงให้ท่านเป็นผู้ที่สมควรแก่การทรงเรียกนั้น และขอพระองค์ทรงให้ความตั้งใจดีทุกประการ และกิจการแห่งความเชื่อทุกอย่างสำเร็จด้วยฤทธิ์เดชของพระองค์ 12 เพื่อพระนามของพระเยซูองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของเราจะได้รับพระเกียรติเพราะท่านทั้งหลาย และท่านจะได้รับเกียรติเพราะพระองค์ ตามพระคุณแห่งพระเจ้าของเรา และแห่งพระเยซูคริสต์องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า
2 Thessalonians 1
1 Paul, and Silvanus, and Timothy, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ;2 Grace to you and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.3 We are bound to give thanks to God always to you, brethren, even as it is meet, for that your faith growth exceedingly, and the love of each one of you all toward one another aboundeth;4 so that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and in the afflictions which ye endure;5 which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God; to the end that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:6 if so be that it is a righteous thing with God to recompense affliction to them that afflict you,7 and to you that are afflicted rest with us, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with the angels of his power in flaming fire,8 rendering vengeance to them that know not God, and to them that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus:9 who shall suffer punishment, even eternal destruction from the face of the Lord and from the glory of his might,10 when he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be marvelled at in all them that believed (because our testimony unto you was believed) in that day.11 To which end we also pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of your calling, and fulfil every desire of goodness and every work of faith, with power;12 that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
