Saludos

1-2 Querido hijo t Timoteo:
Te envío mis saludos, y de todo corazón les pido a Dios Padre y a Jesucristo nuestro Señor que te llenen de amor, te ayuden en todo, y te den su paz.
Como te dije antes, soy apóstol de Cristo . Dios me envió a comunicar su mensaje, y me prometió la vida eterna por medio de Cristo Jesús.

Oración de agradecimiento

3 Mis familiares y yo hemos servido a Dios, y nadie puede acusarnos de nada malo. Siempre que oro, ya sea de día o de noche, te recuerdo y doy gracias a Dios por ti.4 Cada vez que me acuerdo de cómo lloraste y te pusiste triste, me dan más ganas de verte. ¡Cómo me alegraría eso!

5 Tu abuela Loida y tu madre Eunice confiaron sinceramente en Dios; y cuando me acuerdo de ti, me siento seguro de que también tú tienes esa misma confianza.

No hay que avergonzarse

6 Por eso te recomiendo que no dejes de usar esa capacidad especial que Dios te dio cuando puse mis manos sobre tu cabeza. t

7 Porque el Espíritu de Dios no nos hace cobardes. Al contrario, nos da poder para amar a los demás, y nos fortalece para que podamos vivir una buena vida cristiana.

8 Por lo tanto, no te avergüences de hablar bien de nuestro Señor Jesús. Tampoco te avergüences de mí, que estoy preso por servir a Jesucristo. Al contrario, tienes que estar dispuesto a sufrir por anunciar la buena noticia. ¡Ya Dios te dará las fuerzas necesarias para soportar el sufrimiento!
9 Dios nos salvó y nos eligió para que seamos parte de su pueblo santo . No hicimos nada para merecerlo, sino que Dios, por su gran amor, así lo planeó. Dios ya nos amaba desde antes de crear el mundo, pues desde entonces pertenecíamos a Cristo Jesús.

10 Dios nos mostró ese gran amor por medio de lo que Jesucristo nuestro Salvador hizo por nosotros. Porque él destruyó a la muerte y, por medio de la buena noticia, nos ha dado la vida eterna.
11 Dios me nombró apóstol para anunciar y enseñar a las naciones la buena noticia.12 Por eso mismo estoy sufriendo ahora. Pero no me avergüenzo de lo que me pasa, porque yo sé bien en quién he puesto mi confianza. Estoy seguro de que él tiene poder para hacer que la buena noticia se siga anunciando hasta que llegue el fin del mundo.13 Las enseñanzas que te he dado son un buen ejemplo de lo que debes hacer. No dejes de confiar en Dios y en el amor que tenemos por estar unidos a Jesucristo.

14 No permitas que nadie contradiga la buena enseñanza que recibiste. Dios te ha encargado ese trabajo, y el Espíritu Santo te ayudará a hacerlo.

15 Seguramente ya sabes que todos los cristianos de la provincia de Asia me abandonaron. ¡Hasta Figelo y Hermógenes me dejaron solo!
16 Le pido a Dios que sea bueno con la familia de Onesíforo y la ayude. Él me animó muchas veces, y no se avergonzó de que yo estuviera en la cárcel.17 Al contrario, tan pronto llegó a Roma, me buscó por todas partes, hasta que me encontró.

18 Espero que el Señor Jesús lo trate con bondad el día en que Dios juzgará a todo el mundo. Como sabes, Onesíforo nos fue de gran ayuda en la ciudad de Éfeso.

2 TIMOTHY 1

1 From Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus.
God himself chose me to be an apostle, and he gave me the promised life that Jesus Christ makes possible.

2  t Timothy, you are like a dear child to me. I pray that God our Father and our Lord Christ Jesus will be kind and merciful to you and will bless you with peace!

Do Not Be Ashamed //of the Lord

7 God's Spiritt doesn't make cowards out of us. The Spirit gives us power, love, and self-control.

8 Don't be ashamed to speak for our Lord. And don't be ashamed of me, just because I am in jail for serving him. Use the power that comes from God and join with me in suffering for telling the good news.

9 God saved us and chose us
to be his holy people.
We did nothing
to deserve this,
but God planned it
because he is so kind.
Even before time began
God planned for Christ Jesus
to show kindness to us.

10 Now Christ Jesus has come
to offer us God's gift
of undeserved grace.
Christ our Savior defeated death
and brought us
the good news.
It shines like a light
and offers life
that never ends.
11  t My work is to be a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher.t 12 This is why I am suffering now. But I am not ashamed! I know the one I have faith in, and I am sure he can guard until the last day what he has trusted me with.t 13 Now follow the example of the correct teaching I gave you, and let the faith and love of Christ Jesus be your model.

14 You have been trusted with a wonderful treasure. Guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit, who lives within us.

15 You know that everyone in Asia has turned against me, especially Phygelus and Hermogenes.
16 I pray that the Lord will be kind to the family of Onesiphorus. He often cheered me up and wasn't ashamed of me when I was put in jail. 17 Then after he arrived in Rome, he searched everywhere until he found me. 18 I pray that the Lord Jesus will ask God to show mercy to Onesiphorus on the day of judgment. You know how much he helped me in Ephesus.
