2 Timotei 1

1 Pavel, apostol al lui Cristos Isus, prin voia lui Dumnezeu, după promisiunea vieții în Cristos Isus,2 către Timotei, copilul preaiubit: har, îndurare și pace de la Dumnezeu Tatăl și de la Cristos Isus, Domnul nostru!

Mulțumiri și încurajări

3 Îi sunt recunoscător lui Dumnezeu, pe Care-L slujesc cu o conștiință curată, așa cum au făcut-o și strămoșii mei, când îmi aduc aminte mereu de tine în rugăciunile mele, zi și noapte.4 Îmi amintesc de lacrimile tale și doresc să te văd, ca să mă umplu de bucurie.5 Îmi aduc aminte de credința ta, care este fără ipocrizie și care a locuit mai întâi în bunica ta, Lois, apoi în mama ta, Eunice, iar acum sunt convins că și în tine.6 De aceea, îți aduc aminte să înflăcărezi darul lui Dumnezeu, care este în tine prin punerea mâinilor mele.7 Căci Dumnezeu nu ne-a dat un duh de frică, ci de putere, de dragoste și de înțelepciune.8 Așadar, să nu-ți fie rușine să mărturisești despre Domnul nostru și nici despre mine, prizonier de dragul Lui, ci suferă împreună cu mine pentru Evangheliet, prin puterea lui Dumnezeu.9 El ne-a mântuit și ne-a chemat cu o chemare sfântă, nu datorită faptelor noastre, ci datorită planului și harului Său, pe care ni l-a dat în Cristos Isus înainte de vremurile veșniciilor,10 dar care a fost descoperit acum prin arătarea Mântuitorului nostru, Isus Cristos, Care a desființat moartea și a adus la lumină viața și nemurirea, prin Evanghelie.11 Iar eu am fost pus predicatorul, apostolul și învățătorul ei.12 De aceea sufăr aceste lucruri, dar nu mi-e rușine, pentru că știu în Cine am crezut și sunt convins că El poate să păzească până în ziua aceea ce I-am încredințat.13 Păstrează modelult cuvintelor sănătoase, pe care le-ai auzit de la mine, împreună cu credința și dragostea care sunt în Cristos Isus!14 Păzește lucrul acela bun care ți-a fost încredințat prin Duhul Sfânt, Care locuiește în noi!

15 Tu știi că toți cei ce sunt în Asiat m-au părăsit, între care sunt și Figel, și Hermogen.16 Fie ca Domnul să-Și arate îndurarea peste casa lui Onisifor, pentru că, de multe ori, el m-a încurajat și nu i-a fost rușine de lanțul meu.17 Dimpotrivă, când a fost în Roma, m-a căutat cu mult efort și m-a găsit.18 Să dea Domnul să găsească îndurare de la Domnul în ziua aceea! Tu știi bine cât de mult mi -a slujit în Efes.

2 TIMOTHY 1

1 From Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus.
God himself chose me to be an apostle, and he gave me the promised life that Jesus Christ makes possible.

2  t Timothy, you are like a dear child to me. I pray that God our Father and our Lord Christ Jesus will be kind and merciful to you and will bless you with peace!

Do Not Be Ashamed //of the Lord

7 God's Spiritt doesn't make cowards out of us. The Spirit gives us power, love, and self-control.

8 Don't be ashamed to speak for our Lord. And don't be ashamed of me, just because I am in jail for serving him. Use the power that comes from God and join with me in suffering for telling the good news.

9 God saved us and chose us
to be his holy people.
We did nothing
to deserve this,
but God planned it
because he is so kind.
Even before time began
God planned for Christ Jesus
to show kindness to us.

10 Now Christ Jesus has come
to offer us God's gift
of undeserved grace.
Christ our Savior defeated death
and brought us
the good news.
It shines like a light
and offers life
that never ends.
11  t My work is to be a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher.t 12 This is why I am suffering now. But I am not ashamed! I know the one I have faith in, and I am sure he can guard until the last day what he has trusted me with.t 13 Now follow the example of the correct teaching I gave you, and let the faith and love of Christ Jesus be your model.

14 You have been trusted with a wonderful treasure. Guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit, who lives within us.

15 You know that everyone in Asia has turned against me, especially Phygelus and Hermogenes.
16 I pray that the Lord will be kind to the family of Onesiphorus. He often cheered me up and wasn't ashamed of me when I was put in jail. 17 Then after he arrived in Rome, he searched everywhere until he found me. 18 I pray that the Lord Jesus will ask God to show mercy to Onesiphorus on the day of judgment. You know how much he helped me in Ephesus.
