دوم تیموتاؤس 1
مقدّمه
1 از طرف پولس كه به خواست خدا رسول مسیح عیسی است و فرستاده شد تا حیاتی را كه در مسیح عیسی یافت میشود، اعلام نماید
2 به تیموتاؤس، فرزند عزیزم تقدیم میگردد. خدای پدر و مسیح عیسی، خداوند ما فیض و رحمت و آرامش به تو عطا فرمایند.تیموتاؤس و مأموریت او
3 خدایی را كه من، مانند اجدادم با وجدانی پاک خدمت میکنم، سپاس میگویم. همیشه وقتی در شب و روز تو را در دعاهای خود بهیاد میآورم، خدا را شكر میکنم. 4 وقتی اشکهای تو را بهیاد میآورم، آرزو میکنم تو را ببینم تا با دیدار تو شادی من كامل گردد. 5 ایمان بیریای تو را بهخاطر میآورم، یعنی همان ایمانی که نخست مادر بزرگ تو «لوییس» و مادرت «افنیكی» داشت و اكنون مطمئن هستم كه در تو هم هست. 6 به این سبب در وقتیکه تو را دستگذاری كردم، عطیّهٔ خدا به تو داده شد. میخواهم این عطیه را بهیاد تو بیاورم تا آن را همیشه شعلهور نگاه داری،
7 زیرا روحی كه خدا به ما بخشیده است ما را ترسان نمیسازد، بلكه روح او ما را از قدرت و محبّت و خویشتنداری پُر میکند.
8 پس، از شهادت دادن به خداوند یا به رابطهٔ خودت با من، كه بهخاطر او زندانی هستم خجل نباش، بلكه در رنج و زحمتی كه بهخاطر انجیل پیش میآید با آن قدرتی كه خدا میبخشد سهیم باش. 9 خدا ما را نجات داد و به یک زندگی مقدّس دعوت كرد و این در اثر کارهای ما نبود، بلكه بر طبق نقشهٔ خود خدا و فیضی است كه او از ازل در شخص مسیح عیسی به ما عطا فرمود.
10 در حال حاضر این فیض به وسیلهٔ ظهور نجاتدهندهٔ ما مسیح عیسی آشكار شده است. او موت را از میان برداشت و حیاتی فناناپذیر به وسیلهٔ انجیل برای همه آشكار ساخته است.
11 خدا مرا برگزید تا در انتشار انجیل واعظ، رسول و معلّم باشم. 12 به این دلیل تمام رنجها را متحمّل میشوم، امّا از آن خجل نیستم زیرا میدانم به چه كسی ایمان آوردهام و یقین دارم كه او قادر است تا روز آخر آنچه را به من سپرده شد، حفظ كند. 13 تعلیم صحیحی را كه از من شنیدهای، با ایمان و محبتّی كه در مسیح عیسی است، سرمشق خود قرار بده
14 و به وسیلهٔ قدرت روحالقدس كه در ما به سر میبرد، آن چیزهای نیكویی را كه به تو سپرده شده است، حفظ كن.
15 خبرداری كه در استان آسیا همه از جمله «فیجلس» و «هرموجنس» مرا ترک کردهاند. 16 خداوند رحمت خود را به خانواده «انیسیفورس» عطا فرماید زیرا او نیروی تازهای به من بخشیده است. او از اینكه من زندانی هستم، خجل نبود. 17 بلكه به محض اینكه به «روم» رسید، در جستجوی من زحمت زیادی كشید تا مرا پیدا كرد. 18 خداوند عطا فرماید كه در روز عظیم، او از دست خداوند رحمت یابد و تو به خوبی میدانی كه او در «افسس» چه خدمتهایی برای من كرد.
2 TIMOTHY 1
1 From Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus.
God himself chose me to be an apostle, and he gave me the promised life that Jesus Christ makes possible.
2 t Timothy, you are like a dear child to me. I pray that God our Father and our Lord Christ Jesus will be kind and merciful to you and will bless you with peace!Do Not Be Ashamed //of the Lord
3 Night and day I mention you in my prayers. I am always grateful for you, as I pray to the God my ancestors and I have served with a clear conscience. 4 I remember how you cried, and I want to see you, because this would make me truly happy. 5 t I also remember the genuine faith of your mother Eunice. Your grandmother Lois had the same sort of faith, and I am sure you have it as well. 6 So I ask you to make full use of the gift God gave you when I placed my hands on you.t Use it well.
7 God's Spiritt doesn't make cowards out of us. The Spirit gives us power, love, and self-control.
8 Don't be ashamed to speak for our Lord. And don't be ashamed of me, just because I am in jail for serving him. Use the power that comes from God and join with me in suffering for telling the good news.
9 God saved us and chose us
to be his holy people.
We did nothing
to deserve this,
but God planned it
because he is so kind.
Even before time began
God planned for Christ Jesus
to show kindness to us.
10 Now Christ Jesus has come
to offer us God's gift
of undeserved grace.
Christ our Savior defeated death
and brought us
the good news.
It shines like a light
and offers life
that never ends.
11 t My work is to be a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher.t 12 This is why I am suffering now. But I am not ashamed! I know the one I have faith in, and I am sure he can guard until the last day what he has trusted me with.t 13 Now follow the example of the correct teaching I gave you, and let the faith and love of Christ Jesus be your model.
14 You have been trusted with a wonderful treasure. Guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit, who lives within us.
15 You know that everyone in Asia has turned against me, especially Phygelus and Hermogenes.
16 I pray that the Lord will be kind to the family of Onesiphorus. He often cheered me up and wasn't ashamed of me when I was put in jail. 17 Then after he arrived in Rome, he searched everywhere until he found me. 18 I pray that the Lord Jesus will ask God to show mercy to Onesiphorus on the day of judgment. You know how much he helped me in Ephesus.
