Menneska i dei siste tidene
1 Du skal vita at i dei siste dagane skal det koma tunge tider. t 2 Då skal folk vera eigenkjærlege og pengekjære, skrytande, hovmodige, spottsame, ulydige mot foreldre, utakksame og utan age for det heilage, t 3 ukjærlege og uforsonlege, baktalande og utan sjølvtøyming, råe, likesæle om det gode, 4 svikefulle, oppfarande og store i seg sjølve. Dei elskar lystene sine meir enn Gud. 5 Dei har skin av gudlegdom, men fornektar hans kraft. Vend deg bort frå slike folk! 6 Mellom dei er det nokre som lurer seg inn i heimane og får makt over kvinner som er tyngde av synder og lèt seg driva av mange slag lyster, t 7 og som alltid vil læra, men aldri kan læra sanninga å kjenna. 8 Liksom Jannes og Jambres sette seg opp mot Moses, set desse mennene seg opp mot sanninga. Dei har fått dømekrafta øydelagd, og korkje dei eller trua deira held mål. t
9 Men no skal dei ikkje ha meir framgang. For det skal verta klårt for alle kor vitlause dei er; det skal gå dei som det gjekk Jannes og Jambres.Hald fast på det du har lært!
10 Du har fylgt meg i lære og liv, i forsett, tru, langmod, kjærleik og tolmod, 11 og i forfylging og liding, som det eg vart ute for i Antiokia, Ikonium og Lystra. Ja, kva har eg ikkje mått tola av forfylgingar! Men Herren har fria meg ut or dei alle. t 12 Alle som vil leva eit gudfryktig liv i trua på Kristus Jesus, skal verta forfylgde. t 13 Men vonde menneske og svindlarar går frå vondt til verre; dei fører vilt og fer vilt. 14 Men hald du fast på det du har lært og er overtydd om; du veit kven du har lært det av. t 15 Og heilt frå barndomen har du kjent dei heilage skriftene, som kan gjera deg vis til frelse ved trua på Kristus Jesus. t 16 Alle skrifter som er innanda av Gud, er òg gagnlege til opplæring, til formaning, til rettleiing, til oppseding i rettferd, t 17 så det menneske som høyrer Gud til, kan verta som det skal, dugande til all god gjerning.

What People Will Be Like //in the Last Days
1 You can be certain that in the last days there will be some very hard times. 2 People will love only themselves and money. They will be proud, stuck-up, rude, and disobedient to their parents. They will also be ungrateful, godless, 3 heartless, and hateful. Their words will be cruel, and they will have no self-control or pity. These people will hate everything good. 4 They will be sneaky, reckless, and puffed up with pride. Instead of loving God, they will love pleasure.
5 Even though they will make a show of being religious, their religion won't be real. Don't have anything to do with such people.
6 Some men fool whole families, just to get power over those women who are slaves of sin and are controlled by all sorts of desires. 7 These women always want to learn something new, but they never can discover the truth. 8 t Just as Jannes and Jambrest opposed Moses, these people are enemies of the truth. Their minds are sick, and their faith isn't real.
9 But they won't get very far with their foolishness. Soon everyone will know the truth about them, just as Jannes and Jambres were found out.Paul's Last Instructions //to Timothy
10 Timothy, you know what I teach and how I live. You know what I want to do and what I believe. You have seen how patient and loving I am, and how in the past I put up with 11 t trouble and suffering in the cities of Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. Yet the Lord rescued me from all those terrible troubles. 12 In fact, anyone who belongs to Christ Jesus and wants to live right will have trouble from others.
13 But evil people who pretend to be what they are not will become worse than ever, as they fool others and are fooled themselves.
14 Keep on being faithful to what you were taught and to what you believed. After all, you know who taught you these things. 15 Since childhood, you have known the Holy Scriptures that are able to make you wise enough to have faith in Christ Jesus and be saved. 16 Everything in the Scriptures is God's Word. All of it is useful for teaching and helping people and for correcting them and showing them how to live. 17 The Scriptures train God's servants to do all kinds of good deeds.
