Tercera carta de

1 Del ancianot para mi estimado hermano Gayo, a quien amo de verdad:
2 Estimado hermano: le pido a Dios que te vaya bien en todo y que tengas buena salud física, así como la tienes espiritualmente.3 Me alegré mucho cuando vinieron algunos hermanos en Cristo y me contaron que sigues fiel a la verdadt y la practicas.

4 Lo que más me alegra es oír que mis hijos vivan de acuerdo a la verdad.
5 Estimado hermano, estás haciendo un buen trabajo al ayudar lo mejor posible a nuestros hermanos, aun cuando no los conozcas.6 Ellos dieron testimonio a la iglesiat del amor que tú tienes. Ayúdalos a que continúen su viaje y hazlo de una manera que agrade a Dios,7 pues ellos se fueron de viaje para servir a Jesucristo, y no aceptan nada de los que no creen.

8 Así que nosotros debemos ayudarlos para que juntos trabajemos por la verdad.
9 Le escribí una carta a la iglesia, pero Diótrefes no acepta lo que decimos. Él siempre quiere ser el que manda.

10 Por eso, cuando yo vaya le llamaré la atención por todo el mal que hace. Él dice mentiras contra mí y no recibe a nuestros hermanos. Tampoco deja que otros los ayuden, sino que expulsa de la iglesia a los que quieren ayudarlos.

11 Estimado hermano, no sigas los malos ejemplos, sino los buenos. El que hace lo bueno es de Dios, pero el que hace lo malo nunca ha conocido a Dios.

12 Todos dan buen testimonio de Demetrio, incluso la verdad misma. Nosotros también hablamos bien de él, y tú bien sabes que lo que decimos es verdad.
13 Tengo mucho que decirte, pero no quiero decírtelo por carta.

14 Espero mejor verte pronto y hablar contigo personalmente.

15 Que Dios te dé paz. Todos tus amigos aquí te mandan saludos. Saluda a cada uno de nuestros amigos allá.

3 John 1

You Walk in the Truth

1 The elder to the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth.

2 Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.3 For I was very glad when brethren came and testified to your truth, that is, how you are walking in truth.4 I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth.

5 Beloved, you are acting faithfully in whatever you accomplish for the brethren, and especially when they are strangers;6 and they have testified to your love before the church. You will do well to send them on their way in a manner worthy of God.7 For they went out for the sake of the Name, accepting nothing from the Gentiles.8 Therefore we ought to support such men, so that we may be fellow workers with the truth.

9 I wrote something to the church; but Diotrephes, who loves to be first among them, does not accept what we say.10 For this reason, if I come, I will call attention to his deeds which he does, unjustly accusing us with wicked words; and not satisfied with this, he himself does not receive the brethren, either, and he forbids those who desire to do so and puts them out of the church.

11 Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. The one who does good is of God; the one who does evil has not seen God.12 Demetrius has received a good testimony from everyone, and from the truth itself; and we add our testimony, and you know that our testimony is true.

13 I had many things to write to you, but I am not willing to write them to you with pen and ink;14 but I hope to see you shortly, and we will speak face to face.
