Promisiunea Duhului Sfânt și înălțarea lui Isus la cer

1 Teofilus,
În prima cartet am scris despre toate lucrurile pe care a început Isus să le facă și să-i învețe pe oameni 2 până în ziua în care a fost luat în cer , după ce le dăduse mai întâi porunci, prin Duhul Sfânt, apostolilor pe care-i alesese.3 După suferința Lui, li S-a înfățișat viu, prin multe dovezi convingătoare, arătându-li-Se deseori timp de patruzeci de zile și vorbind despre Împărăția lui Dumnezeut.

4 În timp ce se afla laolaltă cu ei, le-a poruncit astfel: „Să nu vă îndepărtați de Ierusalim, ci să așteptați promisiunea Tatălui, despre care ați auzit de la Mine.5 Căci Ioan a botezat cut apă, dar voi, nu după multe zile, veți fi botezați cu Duhul Sfânt.“

6 Prin urmare, atunci când s-au strâns laolaltă, ei L-au întrebat:
– Doamne, în vremea aceasta vei restaura împărăția lui Israel?

7 El le-a răspuns:
– Nu este treaba voastră să cunoașteți vremurile sau momentele pe care Tatăl le-a așezat prin propria Sa autoritate.8 Voi însă veți primi putere atunci când va veni Duhul Sfânt peste voi și-Mi veți fi martori în Ierusalim, în toată Iudeea, în Samaria și până la marginile pământului.

9 După ce a spus aceste lucruri, Isus a fost înălțat și, în timp ce ei se uitau, un nor L-a luat dinaintea ochilor lor.10 Și cum priveau ei spre cer, în timp ce El pleca, iată că li s-au înfățișat doi bărbați îmbrăcați în haine albe,11 care le-au zis: „Bărbați galileeni, de ce stați și vă uitați spre cer?! Acest Isus, Care a fost luat în cer de la voi, va veni în același fel în care L-ați văzut mergând spre cer.“

Matia ales în locul lui Iuda

12 Atunci ei s-au întors în Ierusalim de pe muntele numit „al Măslinilor“, care este lângă Ierusalim, departe cât un drum parcurs în ziua de Sabatt.13 Când au intrat în casă , au urcat în camera de sus, unde stăteau de obicei. Acolo erau: Petru, Ioan, Iacov, Andrei, Filip, Toma, Bartolomeu, Matei, Iacov – fiul lui Alfeus –, Simon zelotul și Iuda – fiul lui Iacov.14 Toți aceștia stăruiau în rugăciune în același gând, împreună cu femeile, cu Maria – mama lui Isus – și cu frații Lui.

15 În zilele acelea, Petru s-a ridicat în mijlocul fraților, o mulțime de aproape o sută douăzeci de oameni, și le-a zis:16 „Bărbați, fraților, trebuia să se împlinească Scriptura spusă mai dinainte de Duhul Sfânt, prin gura lui David, cu privire la Iuda, care a devenit călăuza celor ce L-au arestat pe Isus.17 El era numărat ca fiind unul dintre noi și fusese ales să ia parte la această slujire. 18 (Din răsplata pentru nelegiuirea lui, omul acesta și-a cumpărat un ogor și, căzând cu capul în jos, a plesnit în două pe la mijloc și i s-au vărsat toate intestinele în acel loc .19 Lucrul acesta a devenit cunoscut tuturor locuitorilor din Ierusalim, astfel că ogorul acela a fost numit, în limba lor, „ Acheldama “, adică „Ogorul sângelui“.)

20 Căci în cartea Psalmilor este scris:
«Fie-i locuința pustiită
și nimeni să nu mai locuiască în ea!»t

și
«Slujba lui s-o ia altul!»t

21 Trebuie deci ca, dintre bărbații care ne-au însoțit în toată perioada în care Domnul Isus a umblat printre noi,22 începând de la botezul lui Ioan și până în ziua în care Isus a fost luat sus de la noi, unul din aceștia să devină împreună cu noi un martor al învierii Lui.“

23 Și au propus doi: pe Iosif, numit Barsabas, căruia i se mai zicea și Iustus, și pe Matias.24 Ei s-au rugat astfel: „Tu, Doamne, Care cunoști inimile tuturor, arată-ne pe care dintre aceștia doi l-ai ales25 ca să ia locul în slujirea și apostolia aceasta, de la care s-a abătut Iuda ca să se ducă la locul lui!“26 Au tras la sorți și sorțul a căzut pe Matias, care a fost socotit împreună cu cei unsprezece apostoli.

ACTS 1

1  t Theophilus, I first wrote to yout about all that Jesus did and taught from the very first

2 until he was taken up to heaven. But before he was taken up, he gave orders to the apostles he had chosen with the help of the Holy Spirit.
3 For 40 days after Jesus had suffered and died, he proved in many ways that he had been raised from death. He appeared to his apostles and spoke to them about God's kingdom.

4 t While he was still with them, he said:
Don't leave Jerusalem yet. Wait here for the Father to give you the Holy Spirit, just as I told you he has promised to do.

5 t John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Is Taken to Heaven

6 While the apostles were still with Jesus, they asked him, “Lord, are you now going to give Israel its own king again?”t
7 Jesus said to them, “You don't need to know the time of those events that only the Father controls. 8 t But the Holy Spirit will come upon you and give you power. Then you will tell everyone about me in Jerusalem, in all Judea, in Samaria, and everywhere in the world.” 9 t After Jesus had said this and while they were watching, he was taken up into a cloud. They could not see him,

10 but as he went up, they kept looking up into the sky.
Suddenly two men dressed in white clothes were standing there beside them.

11 They said, “Why are you men from Galilee standing here and looking up into the sky? Jesus has been taken to heaven. But he will come back in the same way you have seen him go.”

Someone To Take the Place //of Judas

12-13  t The Mount of Olives was about a kilometer from Jerusalem. The apostles who had gone there were Peter, John, James, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon, known as the Eager One, t and Judas the son of James.
After the apostles returned to the city, they went upstairs to the room where they had been staying.
14 The apostles often met together and prayed with a single purpose in mind.t The women and Mary the mother of Jesus would meet with them, and so would his brothers. 15 One day there were about 120 of the Lord's followers meeting together, and Peter stood up to speak to them.

16-17 He said:
My friends, long ago by the power of the Holy Spirit, David said something about Judas, and what he said has now happened. Judas was one of us and had worked with us, but he brought the mob to arrest Jesus. 18 t Then Judas bought some land with the money he was given for doing that evil thing. He fell headfirst into the field. His body burst open, and all his insides came out.

19 When the people of Jerusalem found out about this, they called the place Akeldama, which in the local language means “Field of Blood.”

20  t In the book of Psalms it says,
“Leave his house empty,
and don't let anyone
live there.”
It also says,
“Let someone else
have his job.”

21-22  t So we need someone else to help us tell others that Jesus has been raised from death. He must also be one of the men who was with us from the very beginning. He must have been with us from the time the Lord Jesus was baptized by John until the day he was taken to heaven.
23 Two men were suggested: One of them was Joseph Barsabbas, known as Justus, and the other was Matthias. 24 Then they all prayed, “Lord, you know what everyone is like! Show us the one you have chosen 25 to be an apostle and to serve in place of Judas, who got what he deserved.” 26 They drew names, and Matthias was chosen to join the group of the eleven apostles.
