Сошествие Святого Духа

1 Наступил день Пятидесятницы, и все они были вместе.

2 Вдруг с небес послышался звук, напоминающий шум ураганного ветра, который заполнил весь дом, где они сидели.

3 Ученики увидели нечто похожее на огненные языки, которые разделились и остановились по одному на каждом из них.

4 Все они исполнились Святым Духом и начали говорить на разных языках: эту способность давал им Дух.

5 В Иерусалиме в это время находились благочестивые иудеи из разных стран под небом.

6 На шум собралось много народа; люди недоумевали, потому что каждый из них слышал, как те говорили на его родном языке.

7 Изумляясь и дивясь, они спрашивали:
– Разве все эти люди не галилеяне?

8 Как же это каждый из нас слышит их говорящими на нашем родном языке?

9 Среди нас есть парфяне, мидяне, еламиты, жители Месопотамии, Иудеи и Каппадокии, Понта и Азия,

10 Фригии и Памфилии, Египта, окрестностей Ливии, прилегающих к Кирене, жители Рима,

11 иудеи и обращенные в иудаизм, критяне и арабы, и все мы слышим, как они говорят о великих делах Божьих на наших языках!

12 Удивленные и растерянные, они спрашивали друг друга:
– Что бы это могло значить?

13 Некоторые же посмеивались:
– Они напились молодого вина!

Речь Петра в день Пятидесятницы

14 Петр, поднявшись вместе с другими одиннадцатью и обращаясь к народу, громко сказал:
– Иудеи и все жители Иерусалима! Чтобы вам стало понятно, выслушайте внимательно, что я скажу.

15 Люди эти не пьяны, как вы думаете: сейчас ведь всего третий час дня.

16 Но это исполняются слова пророка Иоиля:

17 «В последние дни, – говорит Бог, –
Я изолью Духа Моего на всех людей.
Ваши сыновья и дочери будут пророчествовать,
ваши юноши будут видеть видения,
и вашим старцам будут сниться пророческие сны.

18 Даже на слуг и на служанок Моих
Я изолью в те дни Моего Духа,
и они будут пророчествовать.

19 Я покажу чудеса в вышине небес
и знамения внизу на земле:
кровь, огонь и клубы дыма.

20 Солнце превратится во тьму
а луна – в кровь,
перед тем, как наступит великий и славный день Господа.

21 И каждый, кто призовет Имя Господа,
будет спасен».

22 Израильтяне, выслушайте, что я вам скажу об Иисусе из Назарета: Бог удостоверил вас в том, что послал Иисуса, могущественными делами, чудесами и знамениями, которые, как вы сами знаете, Бог совершал через Него у вас на глазах.

23 Его, преданного по замыслу и предведению Бога, вы, пригвоздив руками беззаконников, убили.

24 Но Бог воскресил Его, освободив из плена смерти, и смерть была не в силах Его удержать.

25 Давид говорит о Нем:
«Всегда Я видел Господа перед Собой:
Он по правую руку от Меня –
Я не поколеблюсь.

26 Поэтому веселится сердце Мое, и радуется язык,
и тело Мое будет жить надеждой.

27 Ведь Ты не оставишь Мою душу в мире мертвых
и не дашь Твоему Святому увидеть тление.

28 Ты показал Мне пути жизни,
исполнишь меня радостью пред лицом Твоим».

29 Братья, разрешите мне сказать вам прямо, что праотец Давид умер и был похоронен. Его могила сохранилась у нас до сегодняшнего дня.

30 Он был пророком, и зная о том, что Бог обещал ему с клятвой возвести на его престол одного из его потомков,

31 он, видя будущее, говорил о воскресении Христа, что Он не был оставлен в мире мертвых и Его тело не увидело тления.

32 И вот, Бог воскресил Иисуса, и мы все этому свидетели!

33 Он был вознесен и посажен по правую руку от Бога и, получив от Отца обещанного Святого Духа, совершил то, что вы сейчас видите и слышите.

34 Ведь Давид не поднимался на небеса, но он сказал:
«Господь сказал моему Господу:
Сядь по правую руку от Меня,

35 пока Я не повергну врагов Твоих
к ногам Твоим».

36 Поэтому пусть весь дом Израиля будет уверен в том, что Этого Иисуса, Которого вы распяли, Бог сделал и Господом, и Христом!

37 Когда люди услышали это, их сердца стали терзаться муками совести. Они спрашивали Петра и других апостолов:
– Братья, что нам делать?

38 Петр отвечал:
– Покайтесь, и пусть каждый из вас будет крещен во Имя Иисуса Христа для прощения ваших грехов, и вы получите в дар Святого Духа.

39 Ведь это обещание относится к вам, вашим детям и к тем, кто вдали: ко всем, кто будет призван Господом, нашим Богом.

40 И многими другими словами Петр увещевал их, говоря:
– Спасайтесь от этого развращенного поколения.

41 Те, кто принял его проповедь, крестились. В тот день присоединилось около трех тысяч человек.

Жизнь верующих

42 Они твердо держались учения апостолов, всегда пребывая в общении, в преломлении хлеба и в молитвах.

43 Все были полны трепета перед Богом, и через апостолов совершалось много чудес и знамений.

44 Все верующие были вместе, и все у них было общее.

45 Они продавали свои владения и имущество и раздавали всем, в зависимости от нужды каждого.

46 Каждый день они собирались в храме, а по домам преломляли хлеб и ели с радостью и искренностью в сердце,

47 прославляя Бога и пользуясь добрым расположением всего народа. Господь ежедневно прибавлял к ним спасаемых.

ACTS 2

The Coming of the Holy Spirit

1  t On the day of Pentecostt all the Lord's followers were together in one place. 2 Suddenly there was a noise from heaven like the sound of a mighty wind! It filled the house where they were meeting. 3 Then they saw what looked like fiery tongues moving in all directions, and a tongue came and settled on each person there.

4 The Holy Spirit took control of everyone, and they began speaking whatever languages the Spirit let them speak.
5 Many religious Jews from every country in the world were living in Jerusalem. 6 And when they heard this noise, a crowd gathered. But they were surprised, because they were hearing everything in their own languages.

7 They were excited and amazed, and said:
Don't all these who are speaking come from Galilee? 8 Then why do we hear them speaking our very own languages? 9 Some of us are from Parthia, Media, and Elam. Others are from Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia, 10 Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, parts of Libya near Cyrene, Rome,

11 Crete, and Arabia. Some of us were born Jews, and others of us have chosen to be Jews. Yet we all hear them using our own languages to tell the wonderful things God has done.

12 Everyone was excited and confused. Some of them even kept asking each other, “What does all this mean?”

13 Others made fun of the Lord's followers and said, “They are drunk.”

Peter Speaks to the Crowd

14 Peter stood with the eleven apostles and spoke in a loud and clear voice to the crowd:
Friends and everyone else living in Jerusalem, listen carefully to what I have to say! 15 You are wrong to think that these people are drunk. After all, it is only nine o'clock in the morning.

16 But this is what God told the prophet Joel to say,

17  t “When the last days come,
I will give my Spirit
to everyone.
Your sons and daughters
will prophesy.
Your young men
will see visions,
and your old men
will have dreams.

18 In those days I will give
my Spirit to my servants,
both men and women,
and they will prophesy.

19 I will work miracles
in the sky above
and wonders
on the earth below.
There will be blood and fire
and clouds of smoke.

20 The sun will turn dark,
and the moon
will be as red as blood
before the great
and wonderful day
of the Lord appears.

21 Then the Lord
will save everyone
who asks for his help.”
22 Now, listen to what I have to say about Jesus from Nazareth. God proved he sent Jesus to you by having him work miracles, wonders, and signs. All of you know this. 23 t God had already planned and decided that Jesus would be handed over to you. So you took him and had evil men put him to death on a cross. 24 t But God set him free from death and raised him to life. Death could not hold him in its power.

25 t What David said are really the words of Jesus,
“I always see the Lord
near me,
and I will not be afraid
with him at my right side.

26 Because of this,
my heart will be glad,
my words will be joyful,
and I will live in hope.

27 The Lord won't leave me
in the grave.
I am his holy one,
and he won't let
my body decay.

28 He has shown me
the path to life,
and he makes me glad
by being near me.”
29 My friends, it is right for me to speak to you about our ancestor David. He died and was buried, and his tomb is still here.

30 t But David was a prophet, and he knew that God had made a promise he would not break. He had told David someone from his own family would someday be king.
31 David knew this would happen, and so he told us Christ would be raised to life. He said God would not leave him in the grave or let his body decay.

32 All of us can tell you that God has raised Jesus to life!

33 Jesus was taken up to sit at the right sidet of God, and he was given the Holy Spirit, just as the Father had promised. Jesus is also the one who has given the Spirit to us, and this is what you are now seeing and hearing.
34  t David didn't go up to heaven. So he wasn't talking about himself when he said, “The Lord told my Lord to sit at his right side, 35 until he made my Lord's enemies into a footstool for him.”

36 Everyone in Israel should then know for certain that God has made Jesus both Lord and Christ, even though you put him to death on a cross.

37 When the people heard this, they were very upset. They asked Peter and the other apostles, “Friends, what should we do?”
38 Peter said to them, “Turn to God and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

39 This promise is for you and your children. It is for everyone our Lord God will choose, no matter where they live.”
40 Peter told them many other things as well. Then he said, “I beg you to save yourselves from what will happen to all these evil people.” 41 On that day about 3,000 believed his message and were baptized.

42 They spent their time learning from the apostles, and they were like family to each other. They also broke breadt and prayed together.

Life among the Lord's Followers
