11 เขา_เข้า_มา_หา_พวก_เรา และ_เอา_เข็ม_ขัด_ของ_เปาโล_มา_มัด_มือ_มัด_เท้า_ของ_เขา_เอง แล้ว_พูด_ว่า “พระ_วิญญาณ_บริสุทธิ์ บอก_ว่า ‘ชาว_ยิว_ใน_เยรูซาเล็ม จะ_มัด_คน_ที่_เป็น_เจ้า_ของ_เข็มขัด นี้_แบบ_นี้_แหละ แล้ว_จะ_ส่ง_ชาย_คน_นี้_ให้_กับ_คน_ที่_ไม่_ใช่_ยิว’”

12 เมื่อ_ได้_ยิน_อย่าง_นั้น พวก_เรา_กับ_คน_ที่_อยู่_ที่_นั่น_ต่าง_อ้อน_วอน_เปาโล_ไม่_ให้_ขึ้น_ไป_ที่_เมือง_เยรูซาเล็ม

13 แต่_เปาโล_ตอบ_ว่า “ร้องไห้_ทำ_ไม มัน_ทำ_ให้_ผม_เศร้าใจ_รู้_หรือ_เปล่า ผม_พร้อม_ที่_จะ_ถูก_มัด และ_ยัง_พร้อม_ที่_จะ_ตาย_ใน_เมือง_เยรูซาเล็ม_เพื่อ_พระ_เยซูเจ้า_ด้วย”

14 เมื่อ_อ้อน_วอน_เปาโล_ไม่_สำเร็จ พวก_เรา_จึง_หยุด_และ_พูด_ว่า “ขอ_ให้_เป็น_ไป_ตาม_ความ_ต้อง_การ_ของ_องค์_เจ้า_ชีวิต_ก็_แล้ว_กัน”

17 เมื่อ_มา_ถึง_เมือง_เยรูซาเล็ม พี่_น้อง_ต้อนรับ_พวก_เรา_อย่าง_อบ_อุ่น

18 วันรุ่งขึ้น เปาโล_กับ_พวก_เรา_ได้_ไป_เยี่ยม_ยากอบ และ_เจอ_กับ_พวก_ผู้นำ_อาวุโส_ของ_หมู่_ประชุม_ของ_พระเจ้า_ที่_นั่น_ด้วย

19 เปาโล_ทักทาย_พวก_เขา และ_ราย_งาน_ถึง_เรื่อง_ต่างๆ_ที่_พระเจ้า_ได้_ใช้_ให้_เขา_ไป_ทำ_กับ_คน_ที่_ไม่_ใช่_ยิว

20 เมื่อ_พวก_เขา_ได้_ยิน_อย่าง_นั้น ก็_พา_กัน_สรรเสริญ_พระเจ้า_และ_พูด_กับ_เปาโล_ว่า “พี่ชาย ท่าน_ก็_เห็น_ว่า_มี_ชาว_ยิว_เป็น_พันๆ_คน_ที่_ไว้วางใจ_ใน_พระ_เยซู และ_ยัง_คง_รักษา_กฎ_ของ_โมเสส_อย่าง_เคร่งครัด

21 มี_คน_บอก_เรื่อง_ท่าน_ให้_พวก_เขา_ฟัง_ว่า ท่าน_สอน_พวก_คน_ยิว_ที่_อยู่_กับ_พวก_คน_ที่_ไม่_ใช่_ยิว ให้_ทิ้ง_คำ_สั่งสอน_ของ_โมเสส โดย_ไม่_ต้อง_ทำ_พิธี_ขลิบ ให้_กับ_ลูกชาย_ของ_พวก_เขา หรือ_ทำ_ตาม_ประเพณี_ของ_พวก_เรา

26 แล้ว_เปาโล_ก็_พา_ชาย_ทั้ง_สี่_คน_นี้_ไปกับ_เขา ใน_วันรุ่งขึ้น_เขา_ก็_เข้า_พิธี_ชำระ_ล้าง_ร่วม_กับ_คน_ทั้ง_สี่_นี้ จาก_นั้น_เขา_เข้า_ไป_ใน_วิหาร เพื่อ_แจ้ง_ให้_กับ_นักบวช_รู้_ว่า พิธี_ชำระ_ล้าง_จะ_สิ้น_สุด_ใน_วัน_ไหน และ_จะ_นำ_เครื่อง_บูชา_ของ_พวก_เขา_แต่_ละ_คน_มา_ถวาย_ใน_วัน_ไหน

27 เมื่อ_ทำ_พิธี_ได้_เกือบ_ครบ_เจ็ด_วัน_แล้ว มี_ชาว_ยิว_บางคน_จาก_แคว้น_เอเชีย_เห็น_เปาโล_ใน_บริเวณ_วิหาร ก็_ปลุก_ปั่น_ฝูงชน_ให้_เข้า_มา_รุม_จับ_เปาโล

28 พวก_เขา_ร้อง_ตะโกน_ว่า “เพื่อนๆ_อิสราเอล มา_ช่วย_กัน_หน่อย_เร็ว ไอ้_หมอ_นี่_ไง_ที่_เที่ยว_ไป_สอน_ใคร_ต่อ_ใคร_จน_ทั่ว_ให้_ต่อ_ต้าน_คน_ของ_เรา กฎ_ปฏิบัติ_ของ_เรา_และ_วิหาร_ของ_เรา และ_ตอน_นี้_มัน_ยัง_พา_คน_ที่_ไม่_ใช่_ยิว_เข้า_มา_ใน_บริเวณ_วิหาร_อีก_ด้วย ทำ_ให้_สถานที่_ศักดิ์สิทธิ์_แห่ง_นี้_ไม่_บริสุทธิ์”

29 ที่_พวก_เขา_พูด_อย่าง_นี้_ก็_เพราะ_เห็น_โตรฟีมัส_ชาว_เมือง_เอเฟซัส_อยู่_กับ_เปาโล_ใน_เมือง จึง_คาด_เดา_ว่า_เปาโล_คง_พา_โตรฟีมัส_เข้า_มา_ใน_วิหาร_ด้วย

30 คน_ทั้ง_เมือง_ก็_ลุกฮือ_กัน_ขึ้น_มา เข้า_ไป_จับ_ตัว_เปาโล_ลาก_ออก_ไป_นอก_วิหาร แล้ว_ปิด_ประตู_วิหาร_ทัน_ที

31 ใน_เวลา_เดียว_กับ_ที่_พวก_เขา_พยายาม_จะ_ฆ่า_เปาโล_นั้น มี_คน_ไป_ราย_งาน_เรื่อง_นี้_กับ_ผู้_พัน_กอง_ทหาร_โรมัน_ว่า เยรูซาเล็ม_ทั้ง_เมือง_กำลัง_วุ่นวาย_ไป_หมด_แล้ว

32 ผู้_พัน_นำ_ทหาร_และ_นาย_ร้อย_ส่วน_หนึ่ง ไป_ยัง_ที่_ที่_ฝูงชน_กำลัง_ทำร้าย_เปาโล_อยู่ เมื่อ_ฝูงชน_เห็น_ผู้_พัน_และ_พวก_ทหาร_มา_จึง_หยุด_ทุบ_ตี_เปาโล

33 แล้ว_ผู้_พัน_ก็_เข้า_ไป_หา_เปาโล_และ_จับกุม เขา_สั่ง_ให้_เอา_โซ่_สอง_เส้น_มา_ล่าม_เขา_ไว้ จาก_นั้น_ผู้_พัน_สอบถาม_ฝูงชน_ว่า_เปาโล_เป็น_ใคร_และ_ทำ_อะไร_ลง_ไป

34 ฝูงชน_ต่าง_ส่งเสียง_ตะโกน_บอก_อย่าง_โน้น_ที_อย่าง_นี้_ที จน_ผู้_พัน_กอง_ทหาร_โรมัน_ไม่_สามารถ_รู้_ความ_จริง_เพราะ_วุ่นวาย_มาก เขา_จึง_สั่ง_ให้_เอา_ตัว_เปาโล_เข้า_ไป_ใน_ค่าย_ทหาร

35 เมื่อ_เปาโล_เดิน_มา_ถึง_ตรง_ขั้น_บันได พวก_ทหาร_ต้อง_เข้า_มา_ช่วย_หาม_เขา_ขึ้น_ไป_เพราะ_ฝูงชน_กำลัง_บ้า_คลั่ง

36 ฝูงชน_ตาม_หลัง_มา_ร้อง_ตะโกน_ว่า “ฆ่า_มัน”

37 เมื่อ_เปาโล_กำลัง_จะ_ถูก_นำ_ตัว_เข้า_ไป_ใน_ค่าย_ทหาร เขา_พูด_กับ_ผู้_พัน_กอง_ทหาร_โรมัน_ว่า “ผม_ขอ_พูด_อะไร_กับ_ท่าน_หน่อย_ได้_ไหม_ครับ” ผู้_พัน_ถาม_ว่า “เจ้า_พูด_กรีก_ได้_ด้วย_หรือ

38 ถ้า_อย่าง_นั้น_เจ้า_ก็_ไม่_ใช่_ชาว_อียิปต์_คน_นั้น ที่_เมื่อ_ก่อน_ได้_ก่อ_การ_กบฏ_และ_นำ_ผู้ก่อ_การร้าย_สี่_พัน_คน_หนี_ไป_ที่_ทะเลทราย_นะ_สิ”

39 เปาโล_ตอบ_ว่า “ผม_เป็น_คน_ยิว มา_จาก_เมือง_ทาร์ซัส_ใน_แคว้น_ซีลี_เซีย ผม_เป็น_พลเมือง_ของ_เมือง_ที่_สำคัญ_นั้น ขอ_ให้_ผม_พูด_กับ_ฝูงชน_นั่น_หน่อย_เถิด_ครับ”

40 เมื่อ_ผู้_พัน_กอง_ทหาร_โรมัน_อนุญาต_แล้ว เปาโล_ยืน_ขึ้น_ตรง_บันได_และ_โบก_มือ_ให้_ทุก_คน_เงียบ เมื่อ_ทุก_คน_เงียบ_แล้ว เปาโล_ได้_พูด_กับ_พวก_เขา_เป็น_ภาษา_อารเมคt ว่า

Paul Sails from Miletus

1 When we had parted from them and had set sail, we ran a straight course to Cos and the next day to Rhodes and from there to Patara;2 and having found a ship crossing over to Phoenicia, we went aboard and set sail.3 When we came in sight of Cyprus, leaving it on the left, we kept sailing to Syria and landed at Tyre; for there the ship was to unload its cargo.4 After looking up the disciples, we stayed there seven days; and they kept telling Paul through the Spirit not to set foot in Jerusalem.5 When our days there were ended, we left and started on our journey, while they all, with wives and children, escorted us until we were out of the city. After kneeling down on the beach and praying, we said farewell to one another.6 Then we went on board the ship, and they returned home again.

7 When we had finished the voyage from Tyre, we arrived at Ptolemais, and after greeting the brethren, we stayed with them for a day.8 On the next day we left and came to Caesarea, and entering the house of Philip the evangelist, who was one of the seven, we stayed with him.9 Now this man had four virgin daughters who were prophetesses.10 As we were staying there for some days, a prophet named Agabus came down from Judea.11 And coming to us, he took Paul's belt and bound his own feet and hands, and said, "This is what the Holy Spirit says: 'In this way the Jews at Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.'"12 When we had heard this, we as well as the local residents began begging him not to go up to Jerusalem.13 Then Paul answered, "What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but even to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus."14 And since he would not be persuaded, we fell silent, remarking, "The will of the Lord be done!"

15 After these days we got ready and started on our way up to Jerusalem.16  Some of the disciples from Caesarea also came with us, taking us to Mnason of Cyprus, a disciple of long standing with whom we were to lodge.

17 After we arrived in Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly.18 And the following day Paul went in with us to James, and all the elders were present.19 After he had greeted them, he began to relate one by one the things which God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry.20 And when they heard it they began glorifying God; and they said to him, "You see, brother, how many thousands there are among the Jews of those who have believed, and they are all zealous for the Law;21 and they have been told about you, that you are teaching all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children nor to walk according to the customs.22 What, then, is to be done? They will certainly hear that you have come.23 Therefore do this that we tell you. We have four men who are under a vow;24 take them and purify yourself along with them, and pay their expenses so that they may shave their heads; and all will know that there is nothing to the things which they have been told about you, but that you yourself also walk orderly, keeping the Law.25 But concerning the Gentiles who have believed, we wrote, having decided that they should abstain from meat sacrificed to idols and from blood and from what is strangled and from fornication."26 Then Paul took the men, and the next day, purifying himself along with them, went into the temple giving notice of the completion of the days of purification, until the sacrifice was offered for each one of them.

27 When the seven days were almost over, the Jews from Asia, upon seeing him in the temple, began to stir up all the crowd and laid hands on him,28 crying out, "Men of Israel, come to our aid! This is the man who preaches to all men everywhere against our people and the Law and this place; and besides he has even brought Greeks into the temple and has defiled this holy place."29 For they had previously seen Trophimus the Ephesian in the city with him, and they supposed that Paul had brought him into the temple.30 Then all the city was provoked, and the people rushed together, and taking hold of Paul they dragged him out of the temple, and immediately the doors were shut.31 While they were seeking to kill him, a report came up to the tcommander of the Roman cohort that all Jerusalem was in confusion.32 At once he took along some soldiers and centurions and ran down to them; and when they saw the commander and the soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.33 Then the commander came up and took hold of him, and ordered him to be bound with two chains; and he began asking who he was and what he had done.34 But among the crowd some were shouting one thing and some another, and when he could not find out the facts because of the uproar, he ordered him to be brought into the barracks.35 When he got to the stairs, he was carried by the soldiers because of the violence of the mob;36 for the multitude of the people kept following them, shouting, "Away with him!"

37 As Paul was about to be brought into the barracks, he said to the commander, "May I say something to you?" And he *said, "Do you know Greek?38 Then you are not the Egyptian who some time ago stirred up a revolt and led the four thousand men of the Assassins out into the wilderness?"39 But Paul said, "I am a Jew of Tarsus in Cilicia, a citizen of no insignificant city; and I beg you, allow me to speak to the people."40 When he had given him permission, Paul, standing on the stairs, motioned to the people with his hand; and when there was a great hush, he spoke to them in the Hebrew dialect, saying,
