เลือก_ชาย_เจ็ด_คน_มา_สำหรับ_งาน_พิเศษ

1 ใน_ช่วง_เวลา_นั้น เมื่อ_ศิษย์_ของ_พระ_เยซู_เพิ่ม_มาก_ขึ้น_ก็_มี_เสียง_บ่น_จาก_คน_ยิว_ที่_พูด_ภาษา_กรีก ที่_ต่อว่า คน_ยิว_ที่_พูด_ภาษา_อารเมค เพราะ_พวก_แม่ม่าย_ที่_พูด_ภาษา_กรีก_ถูก_มอง_ข้าม_ไป_ใน_เรื่อง_การ_แจก_อาหาร_ที่_มี_อยู่_ทุกๆ_วัน

2 ศิษย์_เอก_ทั้ง_สิบ_สอง_คน_จึง_เรียก_ศิษย์_ทั้ง_หมด_มา_รวม_กัน_และ_พูด_ว่า “ไม่_ถูกต้อง_แน่ ถ้า_พวก_เรา_จะ_มัว_แต่_ไป_แจก_อาหาร_กัน_อยู่ จน_ละเลย_งาน_การ_สั่งสอน_พระคำ_ของ_พระเจ้า_ไป

3 ดัง_นั้น_พี่_น้อง_ทั้งหลาย ช่วย_เลือก_คน_ใน_กลุ่ม_พวก_คุณ_มา_สัก_เจ็ด_คน ที่_มี_ชื่อ_เสียง_ดี เต็ม_ไป_ด้วย_พระ_วิญญาณ_บริสุทธิ์ และ_เฉลียว_ฉลาด แล้ว_เรา_จะ_ได้_ตั้ง_ให้_พวก_เขา_ดูแล_งาน_ด้าน_นี้

4 ส่วน_เรา_ก็_จะ_ได้_ทุ่มเท_ตัวเอง_ให้_กับ_การ_อธิษฐาน และ_การ_สั่งสอน_พระคำ_ของ_พระเจ้า”

5 ทุก_คน_พอใจ_กับ_ข้อ_เสนอ_นี้ จึง_เลือก_สเทเฟน (ชาย_ที่_เต็ม_ไป_ด้วย_ความ_เชื่อ และ_พระ_วิญญาณ_บริสุทธิ์) กับ_ฟีลิปt โปรโครัส นิคาโนร์ ทิโมน ปารเมนัส_และ_นิโคเลาส์_ชาว_เมือง_อันทิโอก ซึ่ง_ก่อน_หน้า_นี้_เปลี่ยน_มา_นับถือ_ศาสนายิว

6 พวก_เขา_เสนอ_คน_ทั้ง_เจ็ด_ต่อ_พวก_ศิษย์_เอก แล้ว_พวก_ศิษย์_เอก_ก็_ได้_อธิษฐาน_และ_วางมือ_บน_คน_ทั้ง_เจ็ด

7 พระคำ_ของ_พระเจ้า_ก็_แพร่_กระจาย_ไป และ_ใน_เมือง_เยรูซาเล็ม_ก็_มี_ศิษย์_ของ_พระ_เยซู_เพิ่ม_ขึ้น_เป็น_จำนวน_มาก นอก_จากนี้_ก็_ยัง_มี_นักบวช_กลุ่ม_ใหญ่_ที่_มา_ไว้วางใจ_และ_เชื่อ_ฟัง_คำ_สอน_นี้_ด้วย

8 สเทเฟน คน_ที่_เต็ม_ไป_ด้วย_ความ_เมตตา_และ_ฤทธิ์_อำนาจ_ของ_พระเจ้า ทำ_สิ่ง_มหัศจรรย์_และ_ปาฏิหาริย์_มาก_มาย_ต่อหน้า_ประชาชน

9 แต่_มี_บางคน_ที่_มา_จาก_ที่_ประชุม_ชาว_ยิว_ที่_เป็น_อิสระ_จาก_การ_เป็น_ทาส_แล้ว (เป็น_ชื่อ_ที่_เขา_เรียก_กัน) พวก_เขา_เป็น_พวก_ยิว_ที่_มา_จาก_เมือง_ไซรีน เมือง_อเล็กซานเดรีย แคว้น_ซิลีเซีย และ_เอเชีย_ได้_มา_โต้เถียง_กับ_สเทเฟน

10 แต่_พวก_เขา_เถียง_สู้_สเทเฟน_ไม่_ได้ เพราะ_สเทเฟน_พูด_ด้วย_สติปัญญา_ที่_มา_จาก_พระ_วิญญาณ_บริสุทธิ์

11 ดัง_นั้น_พวก_เขา_จึง_ติด_สินบน_ชาย_บางคน_ให้_พูด_ว่า “เรา_ได้_ยิน_ชาย_คน_นี้ พูด_ดู_หมิ่น_โมเสส_และ_พระเจ้า”

12 พวก_นี้_ยุยง_ให้_ประชาชน ผู้นำ_อาวุโส_และ_ครู_สอน_กฎ_ปฏิบัติ จับ_สเทเฟน_และ_เอา_ตัว_ไป_ที่_สภา

13 พวก_เขา_นำ_พยาน_เท็จ_มา_ปรักปรำ_ว่า “ชาย_คน_นี้_พูด_ต่อ_ต้าน_สถานที่_ศักดิ์สิทธิ์_แห่ง_นี้ และ_ต่อ_ต้าน_กฎ_ปฏิบัติ_ตลอด_เวลา_ไม่_เคย_หยุด_เลย

14 เพราะ_พวก_เรา_ได้_ยิน_เขา_พูด_ว่า เยซู_ชาว_นาซาเร็ธ_จะ_ทำลาย_สถานที่_แห่ง_นี้_และ_จะ_เปลี่ยน_แปลง_ธรรมเนียม_ปฏิบัติ_ที่_โมเสส_ให้_กับ_เรา_ไว้”

15 ทุก_คน_ที่_นั่ง_อยู่_ใน_สภา_ต่าง_จ้อง_ไป_ที่_สเทเฟน และ_เห็น_ว่า_ใบ_หน้า_ของ_เขา_ดู_เหมือน_ใบ_หน้า_ของ_ทูตสวรรค์

Acts 6

Choosing of the Seven

1 Now at this time while the disciples were increasing in number, a complaint arose on the part of the tHellenistic Jews against the native Hebrews, because their widows were being overlooked in the daily serving of food. 2 So the twelve summoned the congregation of the disciples and said, "It is not desirable for us to neglect the word of God in order to serve tables.3 Therefore, brethren, select from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may put in charge of this task.4 But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word."5 The statement found approval with the whole congregation; and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas and Nicolas, a tproselyte from Antioch.6 And these they brought before the apostles; and after praying, they laid their hands on them.

7 The word of God kept on spreading; and the number of the disciples continued to increase greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were becoming obedient to the faith.

8 And Stephen, full of grace and power, was performing great wonders and signs among the people.9 But some men from what was called the Synagogue of the Freedmen, including both Cyrenians and Alexandrians, and some from Cilicia and Asia, rose up and argued with Stephen.10 But they were unable to cope with the wisdom and the Spirit with which he was speaking.11 Then they secretly induced men to say, "We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and against God."12 And they stirred up the people, the elders and the scribes, and they came up to him and dragged him away and brought him before the Council.13 They put forward false witnesses who said, "This man incessantly speaks against this holy place and the Law;14 for we have heard him say that this Nazarene, Jesus, will destroy this place and alter the customs which Moses handed down to us."15 And fixing their gaze on him, all who were sitting in the Council saw his face like the face of an angel.
