Proverbs 15
1 A soft answer turneth away wrath;2 The tongue of the wise uttereth knowledge aright;3 The eyes of Jehovah are in every place,4 A gentle tongue is a tree of life;5 A fool despiseth his father’s correction;6 In the house of the righteous is much treasure;7 The lips of the wise disperse knowledge;8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to Jehovah;9 The way of the wicked is an abomination to Jehovah;10 There is grievous correction for him that forsaketh the way;11 Sheol and Abaddon are before Jehovah:12 A scoffer loveth not to be reproved;13 A glad heart maketh a cheerful countenance;14 The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge;15 All the days of the afflicted are evil;16 Better is little, with the fear of Jehovah,17 Better is a dinner of herbs, where love is,18 A wrathful man stirreth up contention;19 The way of the sluggard is as a hedge of thorns;20 A wise son maketh a glad father;21 Folly is joy to him that is void of wisdom;22 Where there is no counsel, purposes are disappointed;23 A man hath joy in the answer of his mouth;24 To the wise the way of life goeth upward,25 Jehovah will root up the house of the proud;26 Evil devices are an abomination to Jehovah;27 He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house;28 The heart of the righteous studieth to answer;29 Jehovah is far from the wicked;30 The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart;31 The ear that hearkeneth to the reproof of life32 He that refuseth correction despiseth his own soul;33 The fear of Jehovah is the instruction of wisdom;
Proverbs 16
1 The plans of the heart belong to man;2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes;3 Commit thy works unto Jehovah,4 Jehovah hath made everything for its own end;5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to Jehovah:6 By mercy and truth iniquity is atoned for;7 When a man’s ways please Jehovah,8 Better is a little, with righteousness,9 A man’s heart deviseth his way;10 A divine sentence is in the lips of the king;11 A just balance and scales are Jehovah’s;12 It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness;13 Righteous lips are the delight of kings;14 The wrath of a king is as messengers of death;15 In the light of the king’s countenance is life;16 How much better is it to get wisdom than gold!17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil:18 Pride goeth before destruction,19 Better it is to be of a lowly spirit with the poor,20 He that giveth heed unto the word shall find good;21 The wise in heart shall be called prudent;22 Understanding is a well-spring of life unto him that hath it;23 The heart of the wise instructeth his mouth,24 Pleasant words are as a honeycomb,25 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man,26 The appetite of the laboring man laboreth for him;27 A worthless man deviseth mischief;28 A perverse man scattereth abroad strife;29 A man of violence enticeth his neighbor,30 He that shutteth his eyes, it is to devise perverse things:31 The hoary head is a crown of glory;32 He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty;33 The lot is cast into the lap;
Proverbs 17
1 Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith,2 A servant that dealeth wisely shall have rule over a son that causeth shame,3 The refining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold;4 An evil-doer giveth heed to wicked lips;5 Whoso mocketh the poor reproacheth his Maker;6 Children’s children are the crown of old men;7 Excellent speech becometh not a fool;8 A bribe is as a precious stone in the eyes of him that hath it;9 He that covereth a transgression seeketh love;10 A rebuke entereth deeper into one that hath understanding11 An evil man seeketh only rebellion;12 Let a bear robbed of her whelps meet a man,13 Whoso rewardeth evil for good,14 The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water:15 He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the righteous,16 Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to buy wisdom,17 A friend loveth at all times;18 A man void of understanding striketh hands,19 He loveth transgression that loveth strife:20 He that hath a wayward heart findeth no good;21 He that begetteth a fool doeth it to his sorrow;22 A cheerful heart is a good medicine;23 A wicked man receiveth a bribe out of the bosom,24 Wisdom is before the face of him that hath understanding;25 A foolish son is a grief to his father,26 Also to punish the righteous is not good,27 He that spareth his words hath knowledge;28 Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise;
