Psalm 55

1 Give ear to my prayer, O God;2 Attend unto me, and answer me:3 Because of the voice of the enemy,4 My heart is sore pained within me:5 Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me,6 And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove!7 Lo, then would I wander far off,

8 I would haste me to a shelter9 Destroy, O Lord, and divide their tongue;10 Day and night they go about it upon the walls thereof:11 Wickedness is in the midst thereof:12 For it was not an enemy that reproached me;13 But it was thou, a man mine equal,14 We took sweet counsel together;15 Let death come suddenly upon them,16 As for me, I will call upon God;17 Evening, and morning, and at noonday, will I complain, and moan;18 He hath redeemed my soul in peace from the battle that was against me;19 God will hear, and answer them,

20 He hath put forth his hands against such as were at peace with him:21 His mouth was smooth as butter,22 Cast thy burden upon Jehovah, and he will sustain thee:23 But thou, O God, wilt bring them down into the pit of destruction:

Psalm 56

1 Be merciful unto me, O God; for man would swallow me up:2 Mine enemies would swallow me up all the day long;3 What time I am afraid,4 In God (I will praise his word),5 All the day long they wrest my words:6 They gather themselves together, they hide themselves,7 Shall they escape by iniquity?8 Thou numberest my wanderings:9 Then shall mine enemies turn back in the day that I call:10 In God (I will praise his word),11 In God have I put my trust, I will not be afraid;12 Thy vows are upon me, O God:13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death:

Psalm 57

1 Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me;2 I will cry unto God Most High,3 He will send from heaven, and save me,

4 My soul is among lions;5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens;6 They have prepared a net for my steps;

7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed:8 Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp:9 I will give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the peoples:10 For thy lovingkindness is great unto the heavens,11 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens;
