Psalm 72
1 Give the king thy judgments, O God,2 He will judge thy people with righteousness,3 The mountains shall bring peace to the people,4 He will judge the poor of the people,5 They shall fear thee while the sun endureth,6 He will come down like rain upon the mown grass,7 In his days shall the righteous flourish,8 He shall have dominion also from sea to sea,9 They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him;10 The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall render tribute:11 Yea, all kings shall fall down before him;12 For he will deliver the needy when he crieth,13 He will have pity on the poor and needy,14 He will redeem their soul from oppression and violence;15 And they shall live; and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba:16 There shall be abundance of grain in the earth upon the top of the mountains;17 His name shall endure for ever;
18 Blessed be Jehovah God, the God of Israel,19 And blessed be his glorious name for ever;20 The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.
Psalm 73
1 Surely God is good to Israel,2 But as for me, my feet were almost gone;3 For I was envious at the arrogant,4 For there are no pangs in their death;5 They are not in trouble as other men;6 Therefore pride is as a chain about their neck;7 Their eyes stand out with fatness:8 They scoff, and in wickedness utter oppression:9 They have set their mouth in the heavens,10 Therefore his people return hither:11 And they say, How doth God know?12 Behold, these are the wicked;13 Surely in vain have I cleansed my heart,14 For all the day long have I been plagued,15 If I had said, I will speak thus;16 When I thought how I might know this,17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God,18 Surely thou settest them in slippery places:19 How are they become a desolation in a moment!20 As a dream when one awaketh,21 For my soul was grieved,22 So brutish was I, and ignorant;23 Nevertheless I am continually with thee:24 Thou wilt guide me with thy counsel,25 Whom have I in heaven but thee?26 My flesh and my heart faileth;27 For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish:28 But it is good for me to draw near unto God:
Psalm 74
1 O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever?2 Remember thy congregation, which thou hast gotten of old,3 Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual ruins,4 Thine adversaries have roared in the midst of thine assembly;5 They seemed as men that lifted up6 And now all the carved work thereof7 They have set thy sanctuary on fire;8 They said in their heart, Let us make havoc of them altogether:9 We see not our signs:10 How long, O God, shall the adversary reproach?11 Why drawest thou back thy hand, even thy right hand?
12 Yet God is my King of old,13 Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength:14 Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces;15 Thou didst cleave fountain and flood:16 The day is thine, the night also is thine:17 Thou hast set all the borders of the earth:18 Remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, O Jehovah,19 Oh deliver not the soul of thy turtle-dove unto the wild beast:20 Have respect unto the covenant;21 Oh let not the oppressed return ashamed:22 Arise, O God, plead thine own cause:23 Forget not the voice of thine adversaries:
