Psalm 89
1 I will sing of the lovingkindness of Jehovah for ever:2 For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever;3 I have made a covenant with my chosen,4 Thy seed will I establish for ever,
5 And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O Jehovah;6 For who in the skies can be compared unto Jehovah?7 A God very terrible in the council of the holy ones,8 O Jehovah God of hosts,9 Thou rulest the pride of the sea:10 Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain;11 The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine:12 The north and the south, thou hast created them:13 Thou hast a mighty arm;14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of thy throne:15 Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound:16 In thy name do they rejoice all the day;17 For thou art the glory of their strength;18 For our shield belongeth unto Jehovah;
19 Then thou spakest in vision to thy saints,20 I have found David my servant;21 With whom my hand shall be established;22 The enemy shall not exact from him,23 And I will beat down his adversaries before him,24 But my faithfulness and my lovingkindness shall be with him;25 I will set his hand also on the sea,26 He shall cry unto me, Thou art my Father,27 I also will make him my first-born,28 My lovingkindness will I keep for him for evermore;29 His seed also will I make to endure for ever,30 If his children forsake my law,31 If they break my statutes,32 Then will I visit their transgression with the rod,33 But my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him,34 My covenant will I not break,35 Once have I sworn by my holiness:36 His seed shall endure for ever,37 It shall be established for ever as the moon,
38 But thou hast cast off and rejected,39 Thou hast abhorred the covenant of thy servant:40 Thou hast broken down all his hedges;41 All that pass by the way rob him:42 Thou hast exalted the right hand of his adversaries;43 Yea, thou turnest back the edge of his sword,44 Thou hast made his brightness to cease,45 The days of his youth hast thou shortened:
46 How long, O Jehovah? wilt thou hide thyself for ever?47 Oh remember how short my time is:48 What man is he that shall live and not see death,
49 Lord, where are thy former lovingkindnesses,50 Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants;51 Wherewith thine enemies have reproached, O Jehovah,52 Blessed be Jehovah for evermore.
Psalm 90
1 Lord, thou hast been our dwelling-place2 Before the mountains were brought forth,3 Thou turnest man to destruction,4 For a thousand years in thy sight5 Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep:6 In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up;7 For we are consumed in thine anger,8 Thou hast set our iniquities before thee,9 For all our days are passed away in thy wrath:10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten,11 Who knoweth the power of thine anger,12 So teach us to number our days,13 Return, O Jehovah; how long?14 Oh satisfy us in the morning with thy lovingkindness,15 Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us,16 Let thy work appear unto thy servants,17 And let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us;
Psalm 91
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High2 I will say of Jehovah, He is my refuge and my fortress;3 For he will deliver thee from the snare of the fowler,4 He will cover thee with his pinions,5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night,6 For the pestilence that walketh in darkness,7 A thousand shall fall at thy side,8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold,9 For thou, O Jehovah, art my refuge!10 There shall no evil befall thee,11 For he will give his angels charge over thee,12 They shall bear thee up in their hands,13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder:14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him:15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him;16 With long life will I satisfy him,
