1 PAOLO, apostolo di Gesù Cristot, per la volontà di Dio, e il fratello Timoteot;
2 a'~santit, e fedeli fratelli in Cristo, che sono in Colosse. Grazia a voi, e pace, da Dio nostro Padre, e dal Signor Gesù Cristot.Fede e carità dei Colossesi. Preghiera dell'apostolo per loro
3 NOI rendiam grazie a Diot, e Padre del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo, facendo del continuo orazione per voi; 4 avendo udita la fede vostra in Cristo Gesù, e la vostra carità inverso tutti i santi; 5 per la speranza che vi è riposta ne'~cielit, la quale innanzi avete udita nella parola della verità dell'evangelo. 6 Il quale è pervenuto a voi, come ancora per tutto il mondot; e fruttificat, e cresce, siccome ancora fra voi, dal dì che voi udiste, e conosceste la grazia di Dio in veritàt. 7 Come ancora avete imparato da Epafrat, nostro caro conservo, il quale è fedel ministro di Cristo per voi.
8 Il quale ancora ci ha dichiarata la vostra carità in Ispirito.
9 Perciò ancora noi, dal dì che abbiamo ciò udito, non restiamo di fare orazione per voit e di richiedere che siate ripieni della conoscenza della volontà d'essot in ogni sapienza, ed intelligenza spirituale. 10 Acciocchè camminiate condegnamente al Signoret, per compiacergli in ogni cosa, fruttificando in ogni opera buonat, e crescendo nella conoscenza di Dio; 11 essendo fortificati in ogni forzat, secondo la possanza della sua gloria, ad ogni sofferenza e pazienza, con allegrezzat; 12 rendendo grazie a Dio, e Padre, che ci ha fatti degni di partecipar la sorte de'~santi nella lucet. 13 Il quale ci ha riscossi dalla podestà delle tenebret, e ci ha trasportati nel regnot del Figliuolo dell'amor suot.
14 In cui abbiamo la redenzione per lo suo sangue, la remission de'~peccatit.Suprema grandezza del Figliuol di Dio
15 EGLI è l'immagine dell'Iddio invisibilet, il primogenito d'ogni creaturat. 16 Poichè in lui sono state create tutte le coset, quelle che son ne'~cieli, e quelle che son sopra la terra; le cose visibili e le invisibili; e troni, e signorie, e principati, e podestàt; tutte le cose sono state create per lui, e per cagione di luit. 17 Ed egli è avanti ogni cosat, e tutte le cose consistono in luit. 18 Ed egli stesso è il capo del corpo della chiesat; egli, dico, che è il principio, il primogenito da'~mortit; acciocchè in ogni cosa tenga il primo grado. 19 Perciocchè è piaciuto al Padre che tutta la pienezza abiti in luit;
20 ed avendo fatta la pace per il sangue della croce d'essot, riconciliarsi per lui tutte le cose; così quelle che sono sopra la terra, come quelle che sono ne'~cieli.
21 E voi stessi, che già eravate alienit, e nemici con la mente, nelle opere malvage; 22 pure ora vi ha riconciliati nel corpo della sua carne, per la morte, per farvi comparire davanti a sè santi, ed irreprensibili, e senza colpat.
23 Se pure perseverate nella fedet, essendo fondati e fermi; e non essendo smossi dalla speranza dell'evangelo che voi avete udito, il quale è stato predicato fra ogni creatura che è sotto il cielot; del quale io Paolo sono stato fatto ministro.Fatiche e lotte apostoliche di Paolo
24 ORA mi rallegro nelle mie sofferenzat per voit, e per mia vicenda compio nella mia carne ciò che resta ancora a compiere delle afflizioni di Cristot, per lo corpo d'esso, che è la chiesat. 25 Della quale io sono stato fatto ministro, secondo la dispensazione di Dio, che mi è stata data inverso voit, per compiere il servigio della parola di Dio. 26 Il misterio, che è stato occulto da secoli ed etàt; ed ora è stato manifestato a'~santi d'esso. 27 A'~quali Iddio ha voluto far conoscere quali sieno le ricchezze della gloria di questo misterio inverso i Gentili, che è Cristo in voi, speranza di gloria. 28 Il quale noi annunziamo, ammondendo, ed ammaestrando ogni uomo in ogni sapienza; acciocchè presentiamo ogni uomo compiuto in Cristo Gesùt. 29 A che ancora io fatico, combattendo secondo la virtù d'esso, la quale opera in me con potenza.

1 From Paul,t an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,
2 to the saints, the faithfult brothers and sisterst in Christ, at Colossae. Grace and peace to yout from God our Father!s
Paul’s Thanksgiving and Prayer for the Church
3 We alwayst give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you,4 sincet we heard about your faith in Christ Jesus and the love that you have for all the saints.5 Your faith and love have arisent from the hope laid upt for you in heaven, which you have heard about in the message of truth, the gospelt6 that has come to you. Just as in the entire world this gospelt is bearing fruit and growing, so it has also been bearing fruit and growingt among you from the first day you heard it and understood the grace of God in truth.7 You learned the gospelt from Epaphras, our dear fellow slavet – at faithful minister of Christ on ours behalf –
8 who also told us of your love in the Spirit.
Paul’s Prayer for the Growth of the Church
9 For this reason we also, from the day we heard about you,t have not ceased praying for you and asking Godt to fillt you with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,10 so that you may livet worthily of the Lord and please him in all respectst – bearing fruit in every good deed, growing in the knowledge of God,11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might for the display oft all patience and steadfastness, joyfully12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified you to sharet in the saints’t inheritance in the light.13 He delivered us from the power of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of the Son he loves,t
14 in whom we have redemption,s the forgiveness of sins.
The Supremacy of Christ
15 s He is the image of the invisible God, the firstbornt over all creation,t
16 for all things in heaven and on earth were created by him – all things, whether visible or invisible, whether thrones or dominions,t whether principalities or powers – all things were created through him and for him.
17 He himself is before all things and all things are held togethert in him.
18 He is the head of the body, the church, as well as the beginning, the firstbornt from among the dead, so that he himself may become first in all things.t
19 For Godt was pleased to have all hist fullness dwellt in the Sont
20 and through him to reconcile all things to himself by making peace through the blood of his cross – through him,s whether things on earth or things in heaven.
Paul’s Goal in Ministry
21 And you were at one time strangers and enemies in yourt mindst as expressed throught your evil deeds,22 but now he has reconciled youst by his physical body through death to present you holy, without blemish, and blameless before him –
23 if indeed you remain in the faith, established and firm,t without shiftingt from the hope of the gospel that you heard. This gospel has also been preached in all creation under heaven, and I, Paul, have become its servant.
24 Now I rejoice in my sufferings for you, and I fill up in my physical body – for the sake of his body, the church – what is lacking in the sufferings of Christ.25 I became a servant of the church according to the stewardshipt from God – given to me for you – in order to completet the word of God,26 that is, the mystery that has been kept hidden from ages and generations, but has now been revealed to his saints.27 God wanted to make known to them the glorioust riches of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.28 We proclaim him by instructingt and teachingt all peoplet with all wisdom so that we may present every person maturet in Christ.
29 Toward this goalt I also labor, struggling according to his power that powerfullyt works in me.
