Colosenses 3

1 Por lo tanto, ya que ustedes han sido resucitados con Cristo, busquen las cosas del cielo, donde Cristo está sentado a la derecha de Dios.2 Piensen en las cosas del cielo, no en las de la tierra.3 Pues ustedes murieron, y Dios les tiene reservado el vivir con Cristo.4 Cristo mismo es la vida de ustedes. Cuando él aparezca, ustedes también aparecerán con él llenos de gloria.

Consecuencias de la unión con Cristo

5 Hagan, pues, morir todo lo que hay de terrenal en ustedes: que nadie cometa inmoralidades sexuales, ni haga cosas impuras, ni siga sus pasiones y malos deseos, ni se deje llevar por la avaricia (que es una forma de idolatría).6 Por estas cosas viene el terrible castigo de Dios sobre aquellos que no lo obedecen;7 y en su vida pasada ustedes las hacían.8 Pero ahora dejen todo eso: el enojo, la pasión, la maldad, los insultos y las palabras indecentes.9 No se mientan los unos a los otros, puesto que ya se han despojado de lo que antes eran y de las cosas que antes hacían,10 y se han revestido de la nueva naturaleza: la del nuevo hombre, que se va renovando a imagen de Dios, su Creador, para llegar a conocerlo plenamente.11 Ya no tiene importancia el ser griego o judío, el estar circuncidado o no estarlo, el ser extranjero, inculto, esclavo o libre, sino que Cristo es todo y está en todos.12 Dios los ama a ustedes y los ha escogido para que pertenezcan al pueblo santo. Revístanse de sentimientos de compasión, bondad, humildad, mansedumbre y paciencia.13 Sopórtense unos a otros, y perdónense si alguno tiene una queja contra otro. Así como el Señor los perdonó, perdonen también ustedes.14 Sobre todo revístanse de amor, que es el lazo de la perfecta unión.15 Y que la paz de Cristo reine en sus corazones, porque con este propósito los llamó Dios a formar un solo cuerpo. Y sean agradecidos.16 Que el mensaje de Cristo permanezca siempre en ustedes con todas sus riquezas. Instrúyanse y amonéstense unos a otros con toda sabiduría. Con corazón agradecido canten a Dios salmos, himnos y cantos espirituales.17 Y todo lo que hagan o digan, háganlo en el nombre del Señor Jesús, dando gracias a Dios el Padre por medio de él.

Deberes de la familia cristiana

18 Esposas, sométanse a sus esposos, pues éste es su deber como creyentes en el Señor.19 Esposos, amen a sus esposas y no las traten con aspereza.20 Hijos, obedezcan en todo a sus padres, porque esto agrada al Señor.21 Padres, no hagan enojar a sus hijos, para que no se desanimen.22 Esclavos, obedezcan en todo a quienes aquí en la tierra son sus amos, no solamente cuando ellos los estén mirando, para quedar bien con ellos, sino de corazón sincero, por temor al Señor.23 Todo lo que hagan, háganlo de buena gana, como si estuvieran sirviendo al Señor y no a los hombres.24 Pues ya saben que, en recompensa, el Señor les dará parte en la herencia. Porque ustedes sirven a Cristo, que es su verdadero Señor.25 Pero el que hace lo malo, recibirá el pago del mal que ha hecho, porque Dios juzga imparcialmente.

Colossians 3

1 If then ye were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God.2 Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are upon the earth.3 For ye died, and your life is hid with Christ in God.4 When Christ, who is our life, shall be manifested, then shall ye also with him be manifested in glory.5 Put to death therefore your members which are upon the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry;6 for which things’ sake cometh the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience:7 wherein ye also once walked, when ye lived in these things;8 but now do ye also put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, railing, shameful speaking out of your mouth:9 lie not one to another; seeing that ye have put off the old man with his doings,10 and have put on the new man, that is being renewed unto knowledge after the image of him that created him:11 where there cannot be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondman, freeman; but Christ is all, and in all.12 Put on therefore, as God’s elect, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, longsuffering;13 forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man have a complaint against any; even as the Lord forgave you, so also do ye:14 and above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness.15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to the which also ye were called in one body; and be ye thankful.16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts unto God.17 And whatsoever ye do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.18 Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing in the Lord.21 Fathers, provoke not your children, that they be not discouraged.22 Servants, obey in all things them that are your masters according to the flesh; not with eye-service, as men-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing the Lord:23 whatsoever ye do, work heartily, as unto the Lord, and not unto men;24 knowing that from the Lord ye shall receive the recompense of the inheritance: ye serve the Lord Christ.25 For he that doeth wrong shall receive again for the wrong that he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.
