COLOSENSES 3
1 Por lo tanto, ya que habéis sido resucitados con Cristo,t buscad las cosas del cielo, donde está Cristo sentado a la derecha de Dios.t 2 Pensad en las cosas del cielo, no en las de la tierra. 3 Pues vosotros habéis muerto,t y ahora vuestra vida está escondida con Cristo en Dios.
4 Cristo es vuestra vida.t Cuando él aparezca, vosotros también apareceréis con él y tendréis parte en su gloria.La nueva personalidad en Cristo
5 Haced morir, pues, todo lo que de terrenal hay en vosotros: que nadie cometa inmoralidades sexuales, ni haga cosas impuras, ni siga sus pasiones y malos deseos, ni sea avaro,t que es una forma de idolatría.t 6 Estas cosas, por las que viene el terrible castigo de Dios sobre quienes no le obedecen,t 7 son las que hacíais en vuestra vida pasada. 8 Pero ahora dejad todo eso: el enojo, la pasión, la maldad, los insultos y las palabras indecentes.t 9 No os mintáis unos a otros,t puesto que ya os habéis librado de vuestra vieja naturaleza y de las cosas que antes hacíais, 10 y os habéis revestido de la nueva naturaleza:t la del nuevo hombre, que se va renovando a imagen de Dios, su Creador,t para llegar a conocerlo plenamente.
11 Ya no tiene importancia el ser griego o judío, el estar circuncidado o no estarlo, el ser extranjero, inculto, esclavo o libre;t lo que importa es que Cristo es todo y está en todos.
12 Dios os ama y os ha escogido para que pertenezcáis a su pueblo. Vivid, pues, revestidos de verdadera compasión, bondad, humildad, mansedumbre y paciencia.t 13 Tened paciencia unos con otros y perdonaos si alguno tiene una queja contra otro.t Así como el Señor os perdonó, perdonad también vosotros. 14 Sobre todo revestíos de amor, que es el perfecto lazo de unión.
15 Y que la paz de Cristot dirija vuestros corazones, porque con este propósito os llamó Dios a formar un solo cuerpo. Y sed agradecidos.
16 Que el mensaje de Cristo esté siempre presente en vuestro corazón. Instruíos y animaos unos a otros con toda sabiduría. Con profunda gratitud cantad a Dios salmos, himnos y cánticos espirituales.t
17 Y todo lo que hagáis o digáis, hacedlo en el nombre del Señor Jesús, dando gracias a Dios Padre por medio de él.tLa conducta de la familia cristiana
18 Mujeres, someteos a vuestros maridos, pues ese es vuestro deber como creyentes en el Señor.
19 Maridos, amad a vuestras mujeres y no las tratéis con aspereza.t
20 Hijos, obedeced en todo a vuestros padres, porque esto agrada al Señor.
21 Padres, no irritéis a vuestros hijos, para que no se desanimen.t
22 Esclavos,t obedeced en todo a quienes aquí en la tierra son vuestros amos; y no solamente cuando os estén mirando, para quedar bien con ellos, sino con corazón sincero, por temor al Señor. 23 Todo lo que hagáis, hacedlo de buena gana, como si estuvierais sirviendo al Señor y no a los hombres. 24 Ya sabéis que, como recompensa, el Señor os dará parte en la herencia, porque vosotros servíst a Cristo, que es vuestro verdadero Señor.t 25 Pero quien hace lo malo recibirá el pago del mal que ha hecho, porque Dios juzga con imparcialidad.t
Colossians 3
Exhortations to Seek the Things Above
1 Therefore, if you have been raised with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.2 Keep thinking about things above, not things on the earth,3 for you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.4 When Christ (who is yours life) appears, then you too will be revealed in glory with him.5 So put to death whatever in your nature belongs to the earth:t sexual immorality, impurity, shameful passion,t evil desire, and greed which is idolatry.6 Because of these things the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience.ss7 You also lived your livest in this way at one time, when you used to live among them.8 But now, put off all such thingst as anger, rage, malice, slander, abusive language from your mouth.9 Do not lie to one another since you have put off the old man with its practices10 and have been clothed with the new mans that is being renewed in knowledge according to the image of the one who created it.
11 Here there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slavet or free, but Christ is all and in all.
Exhortation to Unity and Love
12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with a heart of mercy,t kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience,13 bearing with one another and forgivingt one another, if someone happens to havet a complaint against anyone else. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also forgive others.t14 And to all theset virtuest addt love, which is the perfect bond.t15 Let the peace of Christ be in control in your heart (for you were in fact called as one bodyt to this peace), and be thankful.16 Let the word of Christs dwell in you richly, teaching and exhorting one another with all wisdom, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, all with gracet in your hearts to God.
17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
18 Wives, submit to yourt husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be embittered against them.20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is pleasing in the Lord.21 Fathers,t do not provoket your children, so they will not become disheartened.22 Slaves,t obey your earthlyt masters in every respect, not only when they are watching – like those who are strictly people-pleasers – but with a sincere heart, fearing the Lord.23 Whatever you are doing,t work at it with enthusiasm,t as to the Lord and not for people,t24 because you know that you will receive yourt inheritancet from the Lord as the reward. Servet the Lord Christ.25 For the one who does wrong will be repaid for his wrong,ts and there are no exceptions.t
