โคโลสี 3
1 เพราะฉะนั้นเมื่อพระเจ้าทรงทำให้พวกท่านเป็นขึ้นมาด้วยกันกับพระคริสต์แล้ว ก็จงแสวงหาสิ่งที่อยู่เบื้องบนในที่ซึ่งพระคริสต์สถิตอยู่ คือประทับอยู่เบื้องขวาของพระเจ้าt 2 จงเอาใจใส่สิ่งที่อยู่เบื้องบน ไม่ใช่สิ่งที่อยู่บนแผ่นดินโลก 3 เพราะว่าท่านตายแล้ว และชีวิตของพวกท่านซ่อนไว้กับพระคริสต์ในพระเจ้า 4 เมื่อพระคริสต์ผู้ทรงเป็นชีวิตของท่านทั้งหลายทรงปรากฏ ในเวลานั้นท่านก็จะปรากฏพร้อมกับพระองค์ในศักดิ์ศรีด้วย
5 เพราะฉะนั้นจงประหารโลกียวิสัยtในตัวท่าน คือการล่วงประเวณี การโสโครก ราคะตัณหา ความปรารถนาชั่ว และความโลภ (ซึ่งเป็นการบูชารูปเคารพ) 6 สิ่งเหล่านี้ เป็นเหตุให้พระพิโรธของพระเจ้ามาถึง [คนเหล่านั้นที่ไม่เชื่อฟัง]t 7 เมื่อก่อนพวกท่านก็เคยดำเนินชีวิตแบบนี้ คือมีชีวิตอยู่กับสิ่งเหล่านี้ 8 แต่บัดนี้ท่านทั้งหลายจงละทิ้งtสิ่งเหล่านี้ทั้งหมด คือความโกรธ ความฉุนเฉียว การคิดร้าย การใส่ร้าย และคำพูดหยาบโลนที่ออกจากปากของท่าน 9 อย่าพูดโกหกต่อกันและกัน เพราะว่าท่านได้ปลดวิสัยมนุษย์เก่าtกับพฤติกรรมของมนุษย์นั้นแล้ว 10 และสวมวิสัยมนุษย์ใหม่tที่กำลังได้รับการสร้างขึ้นใหม่ตามพระฉายาของพระองค์ผู้ทรงสร้างt เพื่อให้รู้จักพระเจ้า 11 การนี้ไม่มีกรีกหรือยิว คนที่เข้าสุหนัตหรือไม่เข้าสุหนัต อนารยชนและคนป่าเถื่อนt ไม่มีทาสหรือเสรีชน แต่ว่าพระคริสต์ทรงเป็นทุกสิ่ง และทรงอยู่ในทุกสิ่ง
12 เพราะฉะนั้นในฐานะเป็นพวกที่พระเจ้าทรงเลือก พวกที่บริสุทธิ์ และพวกที่ทรงรัก จงสวมใจเมตตา ใจกรุณา ใจถ่อม ใจสุภาพอ่อนโยน ใจอดทน 13 จงอดทนต่อกันและกันt และถ้าใครมีเรื่องราวต่อกัน ก็จงให้อภัยกัน องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงให้อภัยพวกท่านอย่างไร ท่านก็จงทำอย่างนั้นด้วยt 14 แล้วจงสวมความรักทับสิ่งเหล่านี้ทั้งหมด ความรักผูกพันทุกสิ่งไว้อย่างสมบูรณ์ 15 และจงให้สันติสุขของพระคริสต์นำพาจิตใจtของท่านทั้งหลาย พระเจ้าทรงเรียกท่านให้มาเป็นกายเดียวกันก็เพื่อสันติสุขนี้ และจงมีใจขอบพระคุณ 16 จงให้พระวจนะของพระคริสต์อยู่ในพวกท่านอย่างบริบูรณ์ จงสั่งสอนและเตือนสติกันด้วยปัญญาทั้งสิ้น จงร้องเพลงสดุดี เพลงนมัสการ และเพลงฝ่ายจิตวิญญาณด้วยการขอบพระคุณพระเจ้าในใจของท่าน 17 และเมื่อท่านทั้งหลายทำสิ่งใดไม่ว่าจะด้วยวาจาหรือด้วยการประพฤติ จงทำทุกสิ่งในพระนามของพระเยซูองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า และขอบพระคุณพระเจ้าพระบิดา โดยทางพระองค์t
หน้าที่ทางสังคมของชีวิตใหม่
18 ภรรยาทั้งหลายจงยอมเชื่อฟังสามีของตนt ซึ่งเป็นสิ่งที่สมควรในองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า 19 สามีทั้งหลายจงรักภรรยาของตนt และอย่าทำรุนแรงต่อพวกนาง 20 บุตรทั้งหลายจงเชื่อฟังบิดามารดาของตนในทุกเรื่อง เพราะสิ่งนี้เป็นที่ชอบพระทัยขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าt 21 บิดาทั้งหลายก็อย่ายั่วบุตรของตนให้ขัดเคืองใจt เพื่อว่าพวกเขาจะไม่ท้อใจ 22 ทาสทั้งหลายจงเชื่อฟังนายของตนในโลกนี้tทุกอย่าง ไม่เฉพาะแต่เมื่ออยู่ในสายตาเหมือนอย่างพวกประจบสอพลอ แต่ทำด้วยจริงใจโดยความเกรงกลัวองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า 23 ไม่ว่าพวกท่านจะทำสิ่งใด ก็จงทำด้วยความเต็มใจเหมือนทำถวายองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า ไม่ใช่เหมือนทำต่อมนุษย์ 24 ท่านทั้งหลายก็รู้ว่า ท่านจะได้รับมรดกจากองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าเป็นบำเหน็จ เพราะท่านกำลังรับใช้พระคริสต์องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าอยู่ 25 ส่วนคนที่ทำความผิดก็จะได้รับผลตามความผิดที่เขาได้ทำt และจะไม่มีการเห็นแก่หน้าใครเลยt
Colossians 3
1 If then ye were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God.2 Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are upon the earth.3 For ye died, and your life is hid with Christ in God.4 When Christ, who is our life, shall be manifested, then shall ye also with him be manifested in glory.5 Put to death therefore your members which are upon the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry;6 for which things’ sake cometh the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience:7 wherein ye also once walked, when ye lived in these things;8 but now do ye also put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, railing, shameful speaking out of your mouth:9 lie not one to another; seeing that ye have put off the old man with his doings,10 and have put on the new man, that is being renewed unto knowledge after the image of him that created him:11 where there cannot be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondman, freeman; but Christ is all, and in all.12 Put on therefore, as God’s elect, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, longsuffering;13 forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man have a complaint against any; even as the Lord forgave you, so also do ye:14 and above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness.15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to the which also ye were called in one body; and be ye thankful.16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts unto God.17 And whatsoever ye do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.18 Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing in the Lord.21 Fathers, provoke not your children, that they be not discouraged.22 Servants, obey in all things them that are your masters according to the flesh; not with eye-service, as men-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing the Lord:23 whatsoever ye do, work heartily, as unto the Lord, and not unto men;24 knowing that from the Lord ye shall receive the recompense of the inheritance: ye serve the Lord Christ.25 For he that doeth wrong shall receive again for the wrong that he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.
