Colossenses 3

Uma vida nova em Cristo

1 Portanto, já que vocês foram ressuscitados com Cristo, busquem as coisas que estão no céu, onde Cristo está sentado à direita de Deus.2 Pensem sempre nas coisas do céu e não nas que são aqui da terra.3 Pois aquela natureza velha de vocês já morreu e a vida nova de vocês está escondida com Cristo, em Deus.

4 Quando Cristo, que é a vida de vocês, aparecer, então vocês também vão aparecer com Ele em glória.
5 Por isso, façam morrer todas as coisas deste mundo que agem em vocês, isto é: imoralidade sexual, impureza, paixões baixas, maus desejos e cobiça, que é uma forma de adorar ídolos.6 É por causa destas coisas que virá o castigo de Deust.

7 Antigamente, vocês também tinham esse tipo de vida, quando costumavam fazer estas coisas.
8 Agora, porém, deixem tudo isto de lado: ira, irritação, maldade, insultos e o uso de linguagem indecente.9 Não mintam uns aos outros, pois vocês abandonaram aquela velha natureza e as coisas que faziam no passado10 e se vestiram de uma nova natureza. Esta é a nova pessoa que é renovada continuamente na imagem do seu Criador, para que ela adquira um conhecimento completo de Deus.

11 Desta forma, não há diferença entre um judeu e um que não é judeu, entre um que é circuncidadot e alguém que não é circuncidado, entre um estrangeiro e um selvagem e entre um escravo e um livre. Porém Cristo é tudo e está em todos.
12 Por isso, como um povo escolhido de Deus que é amado e santo, procurem viver sempre com misericórdia, com bondade, com mansidão e com paciência.13 Tolerem uns aos outros e também perdoem uns aos outros se algum de vocês tem alguma queixa contra alguém. Assim como o Senhor lhes perdoou, vocês também devem perdoar uns aos outros.14 E acima de tudo isto, tenham amor, pois o amor une perfeitamente todas as coisas.15 Deixem que a paz que Cristo dá controle os seus corações. Foi para esta paz que Deus os chamou num só corpo. Sejam sempre agradecidos.16 Que a mensagem de Cristo habite ricamente em vocês. Ensinem e instruam uns aos outros com toda a sabedoria. Façam isso louvando a Deus com salmos, hinos e cânticos espirituais, e cantem com o coração cheio de gratidão para com Deus.

17 E tudo o que vocês fizerem ou disserem, façam em nome do Senhor Jesus e, por meio dele, agradeçam a Deus Pai.

18 Mulheres, sejam submissas a seus maridos, como se fosse ao Senhor.
19 Maridos, amem as suas esposas e sejam gentis com elas.

20 Filhos, obedeçam aos seus pais em tudo, pois isto agrada ao Senhor.

21 Pais, não irritem os seus filhos, para que eles não fiquem desanimados.
22 Servos, obedeçam em tudo a seus senhores aqui da terra. Mas não obedeçam apenas quando vocês estão sendo vigiados, como se estivessem tentando agradar a pessoas. Porém, obedeçam com um coração sincero, por causa do respeito que vocês têm pelo Senhor.23 O que vocês fizerem, façam de todo o coração, como se estivessem fazendo para o Senhor e não para as pessoas.24 Lembrem-se de que é o Senhor quem vai lhes dar a herança celestial como recompensa. É a Cristo, o Senhor, que vocês devem continuar servindo.

25 Pois aquele que faz o mal receberá como troco o mal que fez. E nisto Deus trata a todos da mesma maneira.

Colossians 3

Put On the New Self

1 Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.2 Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.3 For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.4 When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.

5 Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry.6 For it is because of these things that the wrath of God will come tupon the sons of disobedience,7 and in them you also once walked, when you were living in them.8 But now you also, put them all aside: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth.9 Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices,10 and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him-11  a renewal in which there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, tbarbarian, Scythian, slave and freeman, but Christ is all, and in all.

12 So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience;13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.14 Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.16 Let the word of tChrist richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.17 Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.

Family Relations

18 Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be embittered against them.20 Children, be obedient to your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing to the Lord.21 Fathers, do not exasperate your children, so that they will not lose heart.

22 Slaves, in all things obey those who are your masters on earth, not with external service, as those who merely please men, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord.23 Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men,24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.25 For he who does wrong will receive the consequences of the wrong which he has done, and that without partiality.
