Kolossense 4

1 Base, behandel julle werkers regverdig en eerlik. Julle besef natuurlik dat julle ook 'n Baas in die hemel het.
2  Bid gereeld en gedissiplineerd. Sê ook vir God dankie vir alles wat Hy vir julle doen.
3 Moet asseblief ook nie vergeet om vir ons te bid nie. Vra God om vir my deure oop te maak sodat ek vir die mense van Christus kan vertel.4 Ek wil vir almal die geheim vertel dat Christus ook vir hulle bedoel is, al sit ek ook juis daarom vandag in die tronk.
Vra God om my te help om die regte dinge op die regte tyd te sê wanneer ek vir mense van Jesus vertel.5 As julle met mense te doen kry wat nie Christene is nie, moet julle julle veral goed gedra. Gebruik elke oomblik om 'n positiewe invloed op hulle uit te oefen.
6 Dit moet ook altyd vir mense lekker wees om met julle te gesels. Na elke gesprek moet hulle voel dat dit die moeite werd was. So 'n ingesteldheid sal julle help om te weet in watter rigting om gesprekke te stuur en wat om volgende te sê.
7  Ek stuur my goeie vriend Tigikus terug na julle toe. Hy sal vir julle alles van my kom vertel. Ek hou regtig baie van hom. Hy werk hard vir die Here. 'n Mens kan op hom staatmaak. Ek weet, want ek werk saam met hom.8 Hy sal ook vir julle sê hoe dit hier gaan. Hy sal julle ook sommer moed kan inpraat.
9 Ek het Onesimus gevra om saam met Tigikus Kolosse toe te gaan. Hy is mos een van julle. Hy is net so betroubaar soos Tigikus en ons is ook baie erg oor hom. Hy is 'n lojale broer vir ons. Wat Tigikus vergeet om vir julle van ons te vertel, sal Onesimus sekerlik byvoeg.
10 Aristargos stuur vir julle groete. Hy is saam met my hier in die tronk. Markus, Barnabas se neef, stuur ook groete. Ontvang hom asseblief goed wanneer hy daar aankom.11 Julle weet mos wat om te doen. Jesus, wie se ander naam Justus is, stuur ook groete. Hierdie mans is die enigste Jode wat enduit saam met my bly werk het om God Koning in mense se lewe te maak. Glo my, hulle het al baie vir my beteken.
12 En dan is daar natuurlik Epafras wat julle so goed ken. Hy het my gevra om julle spesiaal namens hom te groet. Hy gee al sy tyd en energie vir Christus Jesus. As ons maar hoor, bid hy baie ernstig vir julle, veral vir julle geestelike volwassenheid. Hy vra God om julle te help om nie 'n duim van die koers af te wyk nie. Hy bid dat julle lewe al hoe meer sal word soos God dit wil hê.13 Ek kan julle verseker, hy bid ernstig vir julle in Kolosse, asook vir die gelowiges in Laodisea en Hiërapolis.
14 Geliefde dokter Lukas en Demas stuur ook groete.
15 Sê asseblief namens my groete vir die Christene in Laodisea. Moet ook nie vergeet van Nimfa en die gemeente wat in haar huis kerk hou nie.
16 Lees asseblief eers hierdie brief daar in julle gemeente. Stuur dit daarna na Laodisea toe vir hulle om te lees. Ek het ook 'n brief vir die gemeente in Laodisea gestuur en gevra dat hulle dit weer vir julle stuur.
17 En, o ja, sê asseblief vir Argippus dat hy moet volhou met die taak wat die Here vir hom gegee het. Hy moet sorg dat hy dit klaarmaak.
18 Met my eie handskrif wil ek, Paulus, julle graag groet. Moet my asseblief nie vergeet waar ek hier in die tronk sit nie. Dink aan my. Mag God vir julle baie goed wees, nog meer as wat julle verdien.

Colossians 4

Exhortation to Households

1 Masters, treat your slaves with justice and fairness, because you know that you also have a master in heaven.

Exhortation to Pray for the Success of Paul’s Mission

2 Be devoted to prayer, keeping alert in it with thanksgiving.3 At the same time prayt for us too, thatt God may open a door for the messaget so that we may proclaimt the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.t4 Pray that I may make it known as I should.t5 Conduct yourselvest with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunities.

6 Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you should answer everyone.

Personal Greetings and Instructions

7 Tychicus, a dear brother, faithful minister, and fellow slavet in the Lord, will tell you all the news about me.t8 I sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are doingt and that he may encourage your hearts.

9 I sent himt with Onesimus, the faithful and dear brother, who is one of you.t They will tellt you about everything here.
10 Aristarchus, my fellow prisoner, sends you greetings, as does Mark, the cousin of Barnabas (about whom you received instructions; if he comes to you, welcome him).11 And Jesus who is called Justus also sends greetings. In terms of Jewish converts,t these are the only fellow workers for the kingdom of God, and they have been a comfort to me.12 Epaphras, who is one of you and a slavet of Christ,s greets you. He is always struggling in prayer on your behalf, so that you may stand mature and fully assuredt in all the will of God.13 For I can testify that he has worked hardt for you and for those in Laodicea and Hierapolis.14 Our dear friend Luke the physician and Demas greet you.15 Give my greetings to the brothers and sisterst who are in Laodicea and to Nympha and the church that meets in hers house.t16 And aftert you have read this letter, have it readt to the church of Laodicea. In turn, read the letter from Laodiceas as well.

17 And tell Archippus, “See to it that you complete the ministry you received in the Lord.”
