Colossesi 4

1 Padroni, date ai vostri servi ciò che è giusto ed equo, sapendo che anche voi avete un padrone nel cielo.

Raccomandazioni particolari e saluti

2 Perseverate nella preghiera, vegliando in essa con rendimento di grazie.3 Pregate nello stesso tempo anche per noi, affinché Dio ci apra una porta per la parola, perché possiamo annunciare il mistero di Cristo, a motivo del quale mi trovo prigioniero,

4 e che io lo faccia conoscere, parlandone come devo.
5 Comportatevi con saggezza verso quelli di fuori, recuperando il tempo.

6 Il vostro parlare sia sempre con grazia, condito con sale, per sapere come dovete rispondere a ciascuno.
7 Tutto ciò che mi riguarda ve lo farà sapere Tichico, il caro fratello e fedele servitore, mio compagno di servizio nel Signore.8 Ve l'ho mandato appunto perché conosciate la nostra situazione ed egli consoli i vostri cuori;

9 e con lui ho mandato il fedele e caro fratello Onesimo, che è dei vostri. Essi vi faranno sapere tutto ciò che accade qui.
10 Vi salutano Aristarco, mio compagno di prigionia, Marco, il cugino di Barnaba (a proposito del quale avete ricevuto istruzioni; se viene da voi, accoglietelo),11 e Gesù, detto Giusto. Questi provengono dai circoncisi, e sono gli unici che collaborano con me per il regno di Dio, e che mi sono stati di conforto.12 Vi saluta Epafra, che è dei vostri ed è servo di Cristo {Gesù}. Egli lotta sempre per voi nelle sue preghiere perché stiate saldi, come uomini compiuti, completamente disposti a fare la volontà di Dio.13 Infatti gli rendo testimonianza che si dà molta pena per voi, per quelli di Laodicea e per quelli di Ierapoli.

14 Vi salutano Luca, il caro medico, e Dema.

15 Salutate i fratelli che sono a Laodicea, Ninfa e la chiesa che è in casa sua.
16 Quando questa lettera sarà stata letta da voi, fate che sia letta anche nella chiesa dei Laodicesi, e leggete anche voi quella che vi sarà mandata da Laodicea.

17 Dite ad Archippo: «Bada al servizio che hai ricevuto nel Signore, per compierlo bene».

18 Il saluto è di mia propria mano, di me, Paolo. Ricordatevi delle mie catene. La grazia sia con voi.

COLOSSIANS 4

1  t Slave owners, be fair and honest with your slaves. Don't forget that you have a Master in heaven.
2 Never give up praying. And when you pray, keep alert and be thankful. 3 Be sure to pray that God will make a way for us to spread his message and explain the mystery about Christ, even though I am in jail for doing this.

4 Please pray that I will make the message as clear as possible.
5  t When you are with unbelievers, always make good use of the time.

6 t Be pleasant and hold their interest when you speak the message. Choose your words carefully and be ready to give answers to anyone who asks questions.

Final Greetings

9 t Onesimus, the dear and faithful follower from your own group, is coming with him. The two of them will tell you everything that has happened here.
10  t Aristarchus is in jail with me. He sends greetings to you, and so does Mark, the cousin of Barnabas. You have already been told to welcome Mark, if he visits you.

11 Jesus, who is known as Justus, sends his greetings. These three men are the only Jewish followers who have worked with me for the kingdom of God. They have given me much comfort.
12  t Your own Epaphras, who serves Christ Jesus, sends his greetings. He always prays hard that you may fully know what the Lord wants you to do and that you may do it completely.

13 I have seen how much trouble he has gone through for you and for the followers in Laodicea and Hierapolis.

14  t Our dear doctor Luke sends you his greetings, and so does Demas.

15 Give my greetings to the followers at Laodicea, especially to Nympha and the church that meets in her home.

16 After this letter has been read to your people, be sure to have it read in the church at Laodicea. And you should read the letter that I have sent to them.t

17  t Remind Archippus to do the work that the Lord has given him to do.
