Kolosser 4

1 Ihr Herren, gewährt euren Knechten das, was recht und billig ist, da ihr wisst, dass auch ihr einen Herrn im Himmel habt!2 Seid ausdauernd im Gebet und wacht darin mit Danksagung .3 Betet zugleich auch für uns, damit Gott uns eine Tür öffne für das Wort, um das Geheimnis des Christus auszusprechen, um dessentwillen ich auch gefesselt bin,4 damit ich es so offenbar mache, wie ich reden soll.5 Wandelt in Weisheit denen gegenüber, die außerhalb [der Gemeinde] sind, und kauft die Zeit aus!6 Euer Wort sei allezeit in Gnade, mit Salz gewürzt, damit ihr wisst, wie ihr jedem Einzelnen antworten sollt.7 Alles, was mich betrifft, wird euch Tychikus mitteilen, der geliebte Bruder und treue Diener und Mitknecht im Herrn,8 den ich eben deshalb zu euch gesandt habe, damit er erfährt, wie es bei euch steht, und damit er eure Herzen tröstet ,9 zusammen mit Onesimus , dem treuen und geliebten Bruder, der einer der Euren ist; sie werden euch alles mitteilen, was hier vorgeht.10 Es grüßt euch Aristarchus , mein Mitgefangener, und Markus , der Vetter des Barnabas - ihr habt seinetwegen An-ordnungen erhalten; wenn er zu euch kommt, so nehmt ihn auf! -,11 und Jesus, der Justus genannt wird, die aus der Beschneidung sind. Diese allein sind meine Mitarbeiter für das Reich Gottes, die mir zum Trost geworden sind.12 Es grüßt euch Epaphras , der einer der Euren ist, ein Knecht des Christus, der allezeit in den Gebeten für euch kämpft , damit ihr fest steht, vollkommen t und zur Fülle gebracht in allem, was der Wille Gottes ist.13 Denn ich gebe ihm das Zeugnis, dass er großen Eifer hat um euch und um die in Laodizea und in Hierapolis.14 Es grüßt euch Lukas, der geliebte Arzt, und Demas.15 Grüßt die Brüder in Laodizea und den Nymphas und die Gemeinde in seinem Haus.16 Und wenn der Brief bei euch gelesen ist, so sorgt dafür, dass er auch in der Gemeinde der Laodizeer gelesen wird, und dass ihr auch den aus Laodizea lest.17 Und sagt dem Archippus : Habe acht auf den Dienst , den du im Herrn empfangen hast, damit du ihn erfüllst!18 Der Gruß mit meiner, des Paulus, Hand. Gedenkt an meine Fesseln ! Die Gnade sei mit euch! Amen.

COLOSSIANS 4

1  t Slave owners, be fair and honest with your slaves. Don't forget that you have a Master in heaven.
2 Never give up praying. And when you pray, keep alert and be thankful. 3 Be sure to pray that God will make a way for us to spread his message and explain the mystery about Christ, even though I am in jail for doing this.

4 Please pray that I will make the message as clear as possible.
5  t When you are with unbelievers, always make good use of the time.

6 t Be pleasant and hold their interest when you speak the message. Choose your words carefully and be ready to give answers to anyone who asks questions.

Final Greetings

9 t Onesimus, the dear and faithful follower from your own group, is coming with him. The two of them will tell you everything that has happened here.
10  t Aristarchus is in jail with me. He sends greetings to you, and so does Mark, the cousin of Barnabas. You have already been told to welcome Mark, if he visits you.

11 Jesus, who is known as Justus, sends his greetings. These three men are the only Jewish followers who have worked with me for the kingdom of God. They have given me much comfort.
12  t Your own Epaphras, who serves Christ Jesus, sends his greetings. He always prays hard that you may fully know what the Lord wants you to do and that you may do it completely.

13 I have seen how much trouble he has gone through for you and for the followers in Laodicea and Hierapolis.

14  t Our dear doctor Luke sends you his greetings, and so does Demas.

15 Give my greetings to the followers at Laodicea, especially to Nympha and the church that meets in her home.

16 After this letter has been read to your people, be sure to have it read in the church at Laodicea. And you should read the letter that I have sent to them.t

17  t Remind Archippus to do the work that the Lord has given him to do.
