5. Mose 11
1 So sollst du nun den HERRN, deinen Gott, lieben und sein Gesetz, seine Weise, seine Rechte halten dein Leben lang. 2 Und erkennet heute, was eure Kinder nicht wissen noch gesehen haben, nämlich die Züchtigung des HERRN, eures Gottes, seine Herrlichkeit, dazu seine mächtige Hand und ausgereckten Arm 3 und seine Zeichen und Werke, die er getan hat unter den Ägyptern, an Pharao, dem König in Ägypten, und am allem seinem Lande; 4 und was er an der Macht der Ägypter getan hat, an ihren Rossen und Wagen, da er das Wasser des Schilfmeers über sie führte, da sie euch nachjagten und sie der HERR umbrachte bis auf diesen Tag; 5 und was er euch getan hat in der Wüste, bis ihr an diesen Ort gekommen seid; 6 was er Dathan und Abiram getan hat, den Kindern Eliabs, des Sohnes Rubens, wie die Erde ihren Mund auftat und verschlang sie mit Gesinde und Hütten und allem ihrem Gut, das sie erworben hatten, mitten unter dem ganzen Israel. 7 Denn eure Augen haben die großen Werke des HERRN gesehen, die er getan hat.
8 Darum sollt ihr alle die Gebote halten, die ich dir heute gebiete, auf daß ihr gestärkt werdet, hineinzukommen und das Land einzunehmen, dahin ihr ziehet, daß ihr's einnehmet; 9 und daß du lange lebest in dem Lande, das der HERR euren Vätern geschworen hat ihnen zu geben und ihrem Samen, ein Land, darin Milch und Honig fließt.
10 Denn das Land, da du hin kommst, ist nicht wie Ägyptenland, davon ihr ausgezogen seid, da du deinen Samen säen und selbst tränken mußtest wie einen Kohlgarten; 11 sondern es hat Berge und Auen, die der Regen vom Himmel tränkt, 12 auf welch Land der HERR, dein Gott, acht hat und die Augen des HERRN, deines Gottes, immerdar sehen, von Anfang des Jahres bis ans Ende.
13 Werdet ihr nun meine Gebote hören, die ich euch gebiete, daß ihr den HERRN, euren Gott, liebet und ihm dienet von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele, 14 so will ich eurem Land Regen geben zu seiner Zeit, Frühregen und Spätregen, daß du einsammelst dein Getreide, deinen Most und dein Öl, 15 und will deinem Vieh Gras geben auf deinem Felde, daß ihr esset und satt werdet. 16 Hütet euch aber, daß sich euer Herz nicht überreden lasse, daß ihr abweichet und dienet andern Göttern und betet sie an, 17 und daß dann der Zorn des HERRN ergrimme über euch und schließe den Himmel zu, daß kein Regen komme und die Erde ihr Gewächs nicht gebe und ihr bald umkommt von dem guten Lande, das euch der HERR gegeben hat.
18 So fasset nun diese Worte zu Herzen und in eure Seele und bindet sie zum Zeichen auf eure Hand, daß sie ein Denkmal vor euren Augen seien. 19 Und lehret sie eure Kinder, daß du davon redest, wenn du in deinem Hause sitzest oder auf dem Wege gehst, wenn du dich niederlegst und wenn du aufstehst; 20 und schreibe sie an die Pfosten deines Hauses und an die Tore, 21 daß du und deine Kinder lange leben in dem Lande, das der HERR deinen Vätern geschworen hat ihnen zu geben, solange die Tage vom Himmel auf Erden währen.
22 Denn wo ihr diese Gebote alle werdet halten, die ich euch gebiete, daß ihr darnach tut, daß ihr den HERRN, euren Gott, liebet und wandelt in allen seinen Wegen und ihm anhanget, 23 so wir der HERR alle diese Völker vor euch her ausstoßen, daß ihr größere und stärkere Völker vertreibt, denn ihr seid. 24 Alle Orte, darauf eure Fußsohle tritt, sollen euer sein; von der Wüste an und von dem Berge Libanon und von dem Wasser Euphrat bis ans Meer gegen Abend soll eure Grenze sein. 25 Niemand wird euch widerstehen können. Furcht und Schrecken vor euch wird der HERR über alles Land kommen lassen, darauf ihr tretet, wie er euch verheißen hat.
26 Siehe, ich lege euch heute vor den Segen und den Fluch: 27 den Segen so ihr gehorchet den Geboten des Herrn, eures Gottes, die ich euch heute gebiete; 28 den Fluch aber, so ihr nicht gehorchen werdet den Geboten des HERRN, eures Gottes, und abweichet von dem Wege, den ich euch heute gebiete, daß ihr andern Göttern nachwandelt, die ihr nicht kennt. 29 Wenn dich der HERR, dein Gott, in das Land bringt, da du hineinkommst, daß du es einnehmest, so sollst du den Segen sprechen lassen auf dem Berge Garizim und den Fluch auf dem Berge Ebal, 30 welche sind jenseit des Jordans, der Straße nach gegen der Sonne Niedergang, im Lande der Kanaaniter, die auf dem Blachfelde wohnen, Gilgal gegenüber, bei dem Hain More. 31 Denn ihr werdet über den Jordan gehen, daß ihr hineinkommet, das Land einzunehmen, das euch der HERR, euer Gott, gegeben hat, daß ihr's einnehmet und darin wohnet. 32 So haltet nun, daß ihr tut nach allen Geboten und Rechten, die ich euch heute vorlege.
Deuteronomy 11
Reiteration of the Call to Obedience
1 You must love the Lord your God and do what he requires; keep his statutes, ordinances, and commandmentst at all times.2 Bear in mind today that I am not speakingt to your children who have not personally experienced the judgmentst of the Lord your God, which revealedt his greatness, strength, and power.t3 They did not seet the awesome deeds he performedt in the midst of Egypt against Pharaoh king of Egypt and his whole land,4 or what he did to the army of Egypt, including their horses and chariots, when he made the waters of the Red Seat overwhelm them while they were pursuing you and het annihilated them.t5 They did not seet what he did to you in the desert before you reached this place,6 or what he did to Dathan and Abiram,s sons of Eliab the Reubenite,t when the earth opened its mouth in the middle of the Israelite campt and swallowed them, their families,t their tents, and all the property they brought with them.t
7 I am speaking to yout because you are the ones who saw all the great deeds of the Lord!
The Abundance of the Land of Promise
8 Now pay attention to all the commandmentst I am givingt you today, so that you may be strong enough to enter and possess the land where you are headed,t9 and that you may enjoy long life in the land the Lord promised to give to your ancestorst and their descendants, a land flowing with milk and honey.10 For the land where you are headedt is not like the land of Egypt from which you came, a land where you planted seed and which you irrigated by handt like a vegetable garden.11 Instead, the land you are crossing the Jordan to occupyt is one of hills and valleys, a land that drinks in water from the rains,t12 a land the Lord your God looks after.t He is constantly attentive to itts from the beginning to the end of the year.s13 Now, if you pay close attentiont to my commandments that I am giving you today and lovet the Lord your God and serve him with all your mind and being,t14 then he promises,t “I will send rain for your landt in its season, the autumn and the spring rains,s so that you may gather in your grain, new wine, and olive oil.
15 I will provide pasturet for your livestock and you will eat your fill.”
Exhortation to Instruction and Obedience
16 Make sure you do not turn away to serve and worship other gods!t17 Then the anger of the Lord will eruptt against you and he will close up the skyt so that it does not rain. The land will not yield its produce, and you will soon be removedt from the good land that the Lordt is about to give you.18 Fix these words of mine into your mind and being,t and tie them as a reminder on your hands and let them be symbolst on your forehead.19 Teach them to your children and speak of them as you sit in your house, as you walk along the road,t as you lie down, and as you get up.20 Inscribe them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates21 so that your days and those of your descendants may be extended in the land which the Lord promised to give to your ancestors, like the days of heaven itself.t22 For if you carefully observe all of these commandmentst I am giving yout and love the Lord your God, live according to his standards,t and remain loyal to him,23 then het will drive out all these nations ahead of you, and you will dispossess nations greater and stronger than you.24 Every place you set your foott will be yours; your border will extend from the desert to Lebanon and from the River (that is, the Euphrates) as far as the Mediterranean Sea.t
25 Nobody will be able to resist you; the Lord your God will spread the fear and terror of you over the whole land on which you walk, just as he promised you.
Anticipation of a Blessing and Cursing Ceremony
26 Take note – I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse:s27 the blessing if you take to heartt the commandments of the Lord your God that I am giving you today,28 and the curse if you pay no attentiont to hist commandments and turn from the way I am setting beforet you today to pursuet other gods you have not known.29 When the Lord your God brings you into the land you are to possess, you must pronounce the blessing on Mount Gerizim and the curse on Mount Ebal.s30 Are they not across the Jordan River,t toward the west, in the land of the Canaanites who live in the Arabah opposite Gilgals near the oaks of Moreh?31 For you are about to cross the Jordan to possess the land the Lord your God is giving you, and you will possess and inhabit it.
32 Be certain to keep all the statutes and ordinances that I am presenting to you today.
