5. Mose 18
1 Die Priester, die Leviten des ganzen Stammes Levi, sollen nicht Teil noch Erbe haben mit Israel. Die Opfer des HERRN und sein Erbteil sollen sie essen. 2 Darum sollen sie kein Erbe unter ihren Brüdern haben, daß der HERR ihr Erbe ist, wie er ihnen geredet hat.
3 Das soll aber das Recht der Priester sein an dem Volk, an denen, die da opfern, es sei Ochse oder Schaf, daß man dem Priester gebe den Arm und beide Kinnbacken und den Wanst 4 und die Erstlinge deines Korns, deines Mostes und deines Öls und die Erstlinge von der Schur deiner Schafe. 5 Denn der HERR, dein Gott, hat ihn erwählt aus allen deinen Stämmen, daß er stehe am Dienst im Namen des HERRN, er und seine Söhne ewiglich.
6 Wenn ein Levit kommt aus irgend einem deiner Tore oder sonst irgend aus ganz Israel, da er Gast ist, und kommt nach aller Lust seiner Seele an den Ort, den der HERR erwählen wird, 7 daß er diene im Namen des HERRN, seines Gottes, wie alle seine Brüder, die Leviten, die daselbst vor dem HERR stehen: 8 die sollen gleichen Teil zu essen haben, ohne was einer hat von dem verkauften Gut seiner Väter.
9 Wenn du in das Land kommst, das dir der HERR, dein Gott, geben wird, so sollst du nicht lernen tun die Greuel dieser Völker, 10 daß nicht jemand unter dir gefunden werde, der seinen Sohn oder seine Tochter durchs Feuer gehen lasse, oder ein Weissager oder Tagewähler oder der auf Vogelgeschrei achte oder ein Zauberer 11 oder Beschwörer oder Wahrsager oder Zeichendeuter oder der die Toten frage. 12 Denn wer solches tut, der ist dem HERRN ein Greuel, und um solcher Greuel willen vertreibt sie der HERR, dein Gott, vor dir her. 13 Du aber sollst rechtschaffen sein mit dem HERRN, deinem Gott. 14 Denn diese Völker, deren Land du einnehmen wirst, gehorchen den Tagewählern und Weissagern; aber du sollst dich nicht also halten gegen den HERRN, deinen Gott.
15 Einen Propheten wie mich wird der HERR, dein Gott, dir erwecken aus dir und aus deinen Brüdern; dem sollt ihr gehorchen. 16 Wie du denn von dem HERRN, deinem Gott, gebeten hast am Horeb am Tage der Versammlung und sprachst: Ich will hinfort nicht mehr hören die Stimme des HERRN, meines Gottes, und das sehr große Feuer nicht mehr sehen, daß ich nicht sterbe. 17 Und der HERR sprach zu mir: Sie haben wohl geredet. 18 Ich will ihnen einen Propheten, wie du bist, erwecken aus ihren Brüdern und meine Worte in seinen Mund geben; der soll zu ihnen reden alles, was ich ihm gebieten werde. 19 Und wer meine Worte nicht hören wird, die er in meinem Namen reden wird, von dem will ich's fordern. 20 Doch wenn ein Prophet vermessen ist, zu reden in meinem Namen, was ich ihm nicht geboten habe zu reden, und wenn einer redet in dem Namen anderer Götter, derselbe Prophet soll sterben. 21 Ob du aber in deinem Herzen sagen würdest: Wie kann ich merken, welches Wort der HERR nicht geredet hat? 22 Wenn der Prophet redet in dem Namen des HERRN, und es wird nichts daraus und es kommt nicht, das ist das Wort, das der HERR nicht geredet hat, darum scheue dich nicht vor ihm.
Deuteronomy 18
Provision for Priests and Levites
1 The Levitical priestst – indeed, the entire tribe of Levi – will have no allotment or inheritance with Israel; they may eat the burnt offerings of the Lord and of his inheritance.s2 Theyt will have no inheritance in the midst of their fellow Israelites;t the Lord alone is their inheritance, just as he had told them.3 This shall be the priests’ fair allotmentt from the people who offer sacrifices, whether bull or sheep – they must give to the priest the shoulder, the jowls, and the stomach.4 You must give them the best of yourt grain, new wine, and olive oil, as well as the best of your wool when you shear your flocks.5 For the Lord your God has chosen them and their sons from all your tribes to stands and serve in his namet permanently.6 Suppose a Levite comes by his own free willt from one of your villages, from any part of Israel where he is living,t to the place the Lord chooses7 and serves in the name of the Lord his God like his fellow Levites who stand there before the Lord.
8 He must eat the same share they do, despite any profits he may gain from the sale of his family’s inheritance.t
Provision for Prophetism
9 When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, you must not learn the abhorrent practices of those nations.10 There must never be found among you anyone who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire,t anyone who practices divination,t an omen reader,t a soothsayer,t a sorcerer,t11 one who casts spells,t one who conjures up spirits,t a practitioner of the occult,t or a necromancer.t12 Whoever does these things is abhorrent to the Lord and because of these detestable thingst the Lord your God is about to drive them outt from before you.13 You must be blameless before the Lord your God.
14 Those nations that you are about to dispossess listen to omen readers and diviners, but the Lord your God has not given you permission to do such things.
15 The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you – from your fellow Israelites;st you must listen to him.16 This accords with what happened at Horeb in the day of the assembly. You asked the Lord your God: “Please do not make us hear the voice of the Lord ourt God any more or see this great fire any more lest we die.”17 The Lord then said to me, “What they have said is good.18 I will raise up a prophet like you for them from among their fellow Israelites. I will put my words in his mouth and he will speak to them whatever I command.
19 I will personally hold responsiblet anyone who then pays no attention to the words that prophett speaks in my name.
20 “But if any prophet presumes to speak anything in my name that I have not authorizedt him to speak, or speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die.21 Now if you say to yourselves,t ‘How can we tell that a message is not from the Lord?’t –
22 whenever a prophet speaks in myt name and the predictiont is not fulfilled,t then I havet not spoken it;t the prophet has presumed to speak it, so you need not fear him.”
