EFESIOS 1

Saludo

1 Pablo, apóstol de Jesucristo por designio de Dios, a los miembros del pueblo de Dios* que residen en Éfesot y creen en Cristo Jesús.t

2 Que Dios, nuestro Padre, y Jesucristo, el Señor, les concedan gracia y paz.

I.— EL PLAN SALVADOR DE DIOS EN CRISTO (1,3—3,21)

Elegidos y bendecidos en Cristo

3 Alabemos* a Dios,
Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo,
que por medio de Cristo nos ha bendecido
con toda suerte de bienes
espirituales y celestialest.t

4 Él nos ha elegido en la persona de Cristo
antes de crear el mundo,
para que nos mantengamos
sin mancha ante sus ojos,
como corresponde a consagrados a él.t
Amorosamentet

5 nos ha destinado de antemano,
y por pura iniciativa de su benevolencia,
a ser adoptados como hijos suyos
mediante Jesucristo.t

6 De este modo, la bondad
tan generosamente derramada sobre nosotros
por medio de su Hijo querido,
se convierte en himno
de alabanza a su gloria.t

7 Con la muerte de su Hijo,
y en virtud de la riqueza de su bondad,
Dios nos libera y nos perdona los pecados.t

8 ¡Qué derroche de gracia sobre nosotros,
al llenarnos de sabiduría e inteligenciat

9 y darnos a conocer sus designios más secretost!
Los designios que benévolamente
había decidido realizar
por medio de Cristo,t

10 llevando la historia
a su punto culminante
y haciendo que todas las cosas,
las del cielo y las de la tierra,
recuperen en Cristo su unidadt.t

11 El mismo Cristo en quien también nosotros
participamos de la herenciat
a la que hemos sido destinados de antemano
según el designio del Dios
que todo lo hace de acuerdo
con los planes de su libre decisión.t

12 Así, nosotros, los que habíamos puesto
nuestra esperanza en el Mesías,
nos convertiremos en himno
de alabanza a su gloria.

13 Y también ustedes,
los que han escuchado
el mensaje de la verdad,
la buena noticiat de salvación,
al creer en Cristo
han sido sellados
con el Espíritu Santo prometido,t

14 que es garantía de nuestra herencia,
en orden a la liberación
del pueblo adquirido por Dios,
para convertirse en himno
de alabanza a su gloria.t

Supremacía de Cristo

16 los recuerdo en mis oraciones y no me canso de dar gracias a Dios por ustedes.
17 Que el Dios de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, el Padre a quien pertenece la gloria, les otorgue un espíritu de sabiduría y de revelación que se lo haga conocer.t 18 Que les llene de luz los ojos del corazón* para que conozcan cuál es la esperanza a la que los llama, qué inmensa es la gloria que ofrece en herencia a su pueblot t

19 y qué formidable la potencia que despliega en favor de nosotros los creyentes, manifestada en la eficacia de su fuerza poderosa.t
20 Es el poder que Dios desplegó en Cristo al resucitarlo triunfante de la muerte y sentarlo en el cielo junto a sít, 21 por encima de todo principado, potestad, autoridad y dominiot, y por encima de cualquier otro título que se precie de tal, no sólo en este mundo presente, sino también en el futuro.t 22 Todo lo ha puesto Dios bajo el dominio de Cristo, constituyéndolo cabeza suprema de la Iglesiat 23 que es el cuerpo de Cristo, y, como tal, plenitudt del que llena totalmente el universo.t

Ephesians 1

Salutation

1 From Paul,t an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, to the saints [in Ephesus],ss the faithfult in Christ Jesus.

2 Grace and peace to yout from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!

Spiritual Blessings in Christ

3 Blesseds ist the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessedt us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ.4 Fort he chose us in Christt before the foundation of the world that we may be holy and unblemisheds in his sightt in love.t5 He did this by predestiningts us to adoption as hist sonsts through Jesus Christ, according to the pleasuret of his will –6 to the praise of the glory of his gracet that he has freely bestowed on us in his dearly loved Son.tss7 In himt we have redemption through his blood,s the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace8 that he lavished on us in all wisdom and insight.9 He did this when he revealedt to us the secrett of his will, according to his good pleasure that he set fortht in Christ,ts10 toward the administration of the fullness of the times, to head upt all things in Christ – the things in heavent and the things on earth.s11 In Christt we too have been claimed as God’s own possession,ts since we were predestined according to the one purpose of him who accomplishes all things according to the counsel of his will12 so that we, who were the first to set our hopet on Christ,t would be to the praise of his glory.13 And whent you heard the word of truth (the gospel of your salvation) – when you believed in Christt – you were marked with the sealt of the promised Holy Spirit,t

14 who is the down paymentts of our inheritance, until the redemption of God’s own possession,t to the praise of his glory.

Prayer for Wisdom and Revelation

15 For this reason,s because It have heardt of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your loves for all the saints,16 I do not cease to give thanks for you when I remember yout in my prayers.17 I pray thatt the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory,t may give you spiritual wisdom and revelationt in your growing knowledge of him,tsss18 – since the eyes of yourst heart have been enlightenedt – so that you may know what is the hope of his calling,tssss what is the wealth of his glorioust inheritance in the saints,19 and what is the incomparablet greatness of his power towardt us who believe, as displayed int the exercise of his immense strength.ts20 This powert he exercisedt in Christ when he raised himt from the dead and seated hims at his right hand in the heavenly realmss21 far above every rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.22 And Godtputtall things under Christ’stfeet,s and he gave him to the church as head over all things.t

23 Now the church ist his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.ts
