エペソ人への手紙 1

一

1 エペソに住む、いつも主に忠実な、愛するクリスチャンの方々へ。
神様に選ばれて、キリスト・イエスの使者となったパウロが、この手紙を送ります。　2 どうか、父なる神と、主イエス・キリストから与えられる恵みと平安が、あなたがたのものとなりますように。3 さて、主イエス・キリストの父なる神を、どのようにほめたたえたらよいでしょう。　神様は、天上のあらゆる祝福で、私たちを祝福してくださいました。　それは、私たちがキリスト様のものとなっているからです。
4 神様は、この世界をお造りになる前から、私たちを、ご自分のものとして選んでくださいました。　それは、キリスト様が私たちのためにしてくださることに、基づいています。　そして、神様は私たちを、ご自分の目から見て、何一つ欠点のない、きよい者にしようとお定めになりました。　神様の前に立つ私たちは、その愛に包まれているのです。　5 神様の不変の計画とは、イエス・キリストを遣わし、その死によって、私たちを神様の家族の一員として迎えることでした。　それが、神様のお考えでした。
6 神様こそ、いっさいの賞賛を受けるべきお方です。　神様は、驚くばかりの恵みと愛とを、豊かに注いでくださったのです。　それは、私たちが、神様の最愛のひとり息子につながる者となったからです。　7 神の子の血を流してまで、私たちの罪を帳消しにしてくださるほど、神様の愛は大きいのです。　この神の子によって、私たちは救われました。　8 神様は、豊かな恵みを、あふれるほど注いでくださいました。　私たちをよく理解し、何が最善であるか、常にご存じだからです。
9 神様は、キリスト様を遣わしたことの隠れた理由を、私たちに知らせてくださいました。　その計画は、ずっと昔から、神様の愛のうちに決定ずみでした。　10 その目的はこうです。　すなわち、機が熟せば、私たちを、天でも地でも、あらゆる所から集めて、いつまでも、キリスト様のものとして神様のそばで過ごせるようにすることです。　11 そればかりでなく、キリスト様が成し遂げてくださったことのおかげで、私たちは、神様への喜ばしいささげ物とされています。　というのは、神様の主権的な計画の一部として、私たちは、神様のものとなるように、最初から選ばれていたのであり、すべては、ずっと昔からの、神様のお考えどおりになるからです。　12 なぜ神様は、このようになさったのでしょう。　それは、最初にキリスト様を信じた私たちに対する、こんなにもすばらしい恵みを見て、私たちが神様をほめたたえるためなのです。
13 キリスト様が成し遂げてくださったことのおかげで、あなたがたも、救いを約束する良い知らせを聞き、キリスト様を信じるようになりました。　そして、キリスト様に属する者であるという証印を、聖霊様に押していただきました。　この聖霊様については、ずっと以前から、クリスチャン全部に約束されていたことです。　14 私たちのうちに住まわれる聖霊様は、神様が約束のものを全部ほんとうに与えてくださる、という保証です。　それで、私たちに押された聖霊の証印は、神様がすでに私たちを買い上げ、ご自分のもとに引き取ってくださることを、保証するのです。　これが、栄光の神様をほめたたえる、もう一つの理由です。
15 こういうわけで、私は、主イエスに対するあなたがたの信仰と、ほかのクリスチャンに対する愛とを耳にして以来、　16 絶えず神様に感謝してきました。　いつも、あなたがたのために、こう祈り求めています。　17 どうか、主イエス・キリストの神様、すなわち栄光の父が、あなたがたに知恵を与えて、キリスト様がどのようなお方か、また何をしてくださったかを、正しく、はっきりと理解させてくださいますように。　18 また、心にあふれるほどの光が与えられて、神様が、あなたがたを召して与えようとされる将来を、はっきり見きわめることができますように。　そして、キリスト様のものとして、私たちが神様にささげられた結果、神様の豊かさがいっそう明らかになったことも、知ってほしいのです。　19 また、信じる者を助ける神様の力が、信じられないほど絶大であることを、理解してくれるようにと祈っています。　20-21 この同じ絶大な力が、キリスト様を死人の中から復活させ、ほかのどんな王、支配者、権力者、指導者よりもはるかに高い、天の神様の右の座につかせたのです。　実に、このキリスト様の栄誉は、この世だけでなく、次に来る世でも、他のすべてに、はるかにまさって輝かしいものです。　22 そして神様は、すべてをキリスト様の足の下に従わせ、キリスト様を教会の最高の頭とされました。　23 教会は、キリスト様の体であって、すべてを造り、すべてを満たすキリスト様の霊が満ちあふれる場所です。

Ephesians 1

1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, to the saints that are at Ephesus, and the faithful in Christ Jesus:2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ:4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blemish before him in love:5 having foreordained us unto adoption as sons through Jesus Christ unto himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,6 to the praise of the glory of his grace, which he freely bestowed on us in the Beloved:7 in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,8 which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,9 making known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in him10 unto a dispensation of the fulness of the times, to sum up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens, and the things upon the earth; in him, I say,11 in whom also we were made a heritage, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his will;12 to the end that we should be unto the praise of his glory, we who had before hoped in Christ:13 in whom ye also, having heard the word of the truth, the gospel of your salvation,-- in whom, having also believed, ye were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,14 which is an earnest of our inheritance, unto the redemption of God’s own possession, unto the praise of his glory.15 For this cause I also, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which is among you, and the love which ye show toward all the saints,16 cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him;18 having the eyes of your heart enlightened, that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,19 and what the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might20 which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places,21 far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:22 and he put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things to the church,23 which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
