Aux Ephésiens 1
Salutation
1 tPaul, apôtre de Jésus-Christ par la volonté de Dieu, à ceux qui, à Ephèse, sont saints et dignes de confiance en Jésus-Christ :
2 tGrâce et paix à vous de la part de Dieu, notre Père, et du Seigneur Jésus-Christ !Une bénédiction complète dans le Christ
3 tBéni soit le Dieu et Père de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ, qui nous a bénis de toute bénédiction spirituelle dans les lieux célestes, dans le Christ. 4 tEn lui, il nous a choisis avant la fondation du monde, pour que nous soyons saints et sans défaut devant lui. Dans son amour, 5 til nous a destinés d’avance, par Jésus-Christ, à l’adoption filiale, pour lui, selon sa volonté bienveillante,
6 tafin de célébrer la gloire de sa grâce, dont il nous a comblés en son bien-aimé.
7 tEn lui, nous avons la rédemption par son sang, le pardon des fautes selon la richesse de sa grâce, 8 tqu’il nous a octroyée abondamment, en toute sagesse et intelligence. 9 tIl nous a fait connaître le mystère de sa volonté, le projet bienveillant qu’il s’était proposé en lui,
10 tpour le réaliser quand les temps seraient accomplis : récapituler tout dans le Christ, ce qui est dans les cieux comme ce qui est sur la terre.
11 tEn lui, nous avons aussi reçu notre part d’héritage, nous qui avons été destinés d’avance, selon le projet de celui qui opère en tout selon les décisions de sa volonté,
12 tà célébrer sa gloire, nous qui, d’avance, avons mis notre espérance dans le Christ.
13 tEn lui, vous aussi, après avoir entendu la parole de la vérité, la bonne nouvelle de votre salut, en lui, vous êtes venus à la foi et vous avez été scellés de l’Esprit saint qui avait été promis
14 tet qui constitue les arrhes de notre héritage, pour la rédemption de ce qu’il s’est acquis, afin de célébrer sa gloire.Intercession
15 tC’est pourquoi moi aussi, ayant entendu parler de votre foi dans le Seigneur Jésus et de votre amour pour tous les saints, 16 tje ne cesse de rendre grâce pour vous : je fais mention de vous dans mes prières, 17 tafin que le Dieu de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ, le Père glorieux, vous donne un esprit de sagesse et de révélation qui vous le fasse connaître ; 18 tqu’il illumine les yeux de votre cœur, pour que vous sachiez quelle est l’espérance qui s’attache à son appel, quelle est la glorieuse richesse de son héritage au milieu des saints,
19 tet quelle est la grandeur surabondante de sa puissance envers nous qui croyons, selon l’opération souveraine de sa force.
20 tIl l’a mise en œuvre dans le Christ, en le réveillant d’entre les morts et en le faisant asseoir à sa droite dans les lieux célestes, 21 tau-dessus de tout principat, de toute autorité, de toute puissance, de toute seigneurie, de tout nom qui puisse se prononcer, non seulement dans ce monde-ci, mais encore dans le monde à venir. 22 tIl a tout mis sous ses pieds et l’a donné comme tête, au-dessus de tout, à l’Eglise 23 tqui est son corps, la plénitude de celui qui remplit tout en tous.
Ephesians 1
1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, to the saints that are at Ephesus, and the faithful in Christ Jesus:2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ:4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blemish before him in love:5 having foreordained us unto adoption as sons through Jesus Christ unto himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,6 to the praise of the glory of his grace, which he freely bestowed on us in the Beloved:7 in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,8 which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,9 making known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in him10 unto a dispensation of the fulness of the times, to sum up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens, and the things upon the earth; in him, I say,11 in whom also we were made a heritage, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his will;12 to the end that we should be unto the praise of his glory, we who had before hoped in Christ:13 in whom ye also, having heard the word of the truth, the gospel of your salvation,-- in whom, having also believed, ye were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,14 which is an earnest of our inheritance, unto the redemption of God’s own possession, unto the praise of his glory.15 For this cause I also, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which is among you, and the love which ye show toward all the saints,16 cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him;18 having the eyes of your heart enlightened, that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,19 and what the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might20 which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places,21 far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:22 and he put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things to the church,23 which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
