Dios nos libró de la muerte por medio de Cristo
1 Vosotros, antes, estabais muertos a causa de las maldades y pecadost 2 en que vivíais, pues seguíais el ejemplo de este mundo y hacíais la voluntad de aquel espíritu que domina en el aire y que anima a los que desobedecen a Dios.t 3 De esa manera vivíamos también todos nosotros en otro tiempo, siguiendo nuestros propios deseos y satisfaciendo los caprichos de nuestra naturaleza pecadora y de nuestros pensamientos. A causa de esa naturaleza merecíamos el terrible castigo de Dios,t igual que los demás. 4 Pero Dios es tan misericordioso y nos amó tanto, 5 que nos dio vida juntamente con Cristo cuando todavía estábamos muertos a causa de nuestros pecados. Por la bondad de Dios habéis recibido la salvación.t 6 Dios nos resucitó juntamente con Cristo Jesúst y nos hizo sentar con él en el cielo.t 7 Hizo esto para mostrar en los tiempos futuros el gran amor que nos profesa y su bondad para con nosotros en Cristo Jesús. 8 Pues por la bondad de Dios habéis recibido la salvación por medio de la fe. No es esto algo que vosotros mismos hayáis conseguido, sino que os lo ha dado Dios.t 9 No es el resultado de las propias acciones, de modo que nadie puede jactarse de nada;t
10 pues Dios es quien nos ha hecho, quien nos ha creado en Cristo Jesús para que hagamos buenas obras, según lo que había dispuesto de antemano.tCristo, nuestra paz
11 Así pues, vosotros, que no sois judíos y que sois llamados “incircuncisos” por los judíos –que circuncidan al hombre en el cuerpo y se llaman a sí mismos “circuncidados”–,t 12 recordad que en otro tiempo estabais sin Cristo, separados de la nación de Israel, y que no teníais parte en los pactos ni en la promesa de Dios.t Vivíais en este mundo, sin Dios y sin esperanza. 13 Pero ahora, unidos a Cristo Jesús por la sangre que él derramó,t vosotros, que antes estabais lejos, habéis sido acercados. 14 Cristo es nuestra paz.t Él ha hecho de judíos y no judíos un solo pueblo, destruyendo el muro de enemistad que los separaba.t En su propio cuerpo,t 15 Cristo ha puesto fin a la ley consistente en mandatos y reglamentaciones,t y de ambos pueblos ha formado uno solo, nuevo y unido a él.t Así ha hecho la paz.
16 Por su muerte en la cruz, Cristo ha dado fin a las luchas entre ambos pueblos y los ha reconciliado con Dios, haciendo de ellos un solo cuerpo.t
17 Cristo ha venido a traer buenas noticias de pazt a todos, tanto a vosotros, que estabais lejos de Dios, como a los que estaban cerca.t 18 Pues por medio de Cristo, unos y otros podemos acercarnos al Padre por un mismo Espíritu.t 19 Por eso, ya no sois extranjeros, no estáis ya fuera de vuestra tierra, sino que ahora compartís con el pueblo santo los mismos derechos, y sois miembros de la familia de Dios. 20 Sois como un edificiot levantado sobre el fundamento de los apóstoles y los profetas;t y el propio Cristo Jesús es la piedra que corona el edificio.t 21 Unido a Cristo, el edificio entero va levantándose en todas y cada una de sus partes hasta llegar a ser un templo santo, unido al Señor. 22 Así también vosotros, unidos a Cristo, os unís todos unos a otros para llegar a ser por medio de su Espíritu un templo en el que Dios habita.t

New Life Individually
1 And although you weret deads in your transgressions and sins,2 in whichs you formerly livedts according to this world’s present path,ts according to the ruler of the kingdomt of the air, the ruler oft the spirits that is now energizingt the sons of disobedience,s
3 among whoms all of ust alsot formerly lived out our lives in the cravings of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and the mind, and were by nature children of wraths even as the rest…s
4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of his great love with which he loved us,5 even though we were dead in transgressions, made us alive together with Christ – by grace you are saved!t –6 and he raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,7 to demonstrate in the coming agest the surpassing wealth of his grace in kindness towardt us in Christ Jesus.8 For by grace you are savedt through faith,s and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God;9 it is not fromt works, so that no one can boast.t
10 For we are his workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works that God prepared beforehand so we may do them.ts
New Life Corporately
11 Therefore remember that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh – who are called “uncircumcision” by the so-called “circumcision” that is performed on the bodyt by human hands –12 that you were at that time without the Messiah,t alienated from the citizenship of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise,t having no hope and without God in the world.13 But now in Christ Jesus you who used to be far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.ts14 For he is our peace, the one who made both groups into onet and who destroyed the middle wall of partition, the hostility,15 when he nullifiedt in his flesh the law of commandments in decrees. He did this to create in himself one new mant out of two,t thus making peace,16 and to reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by which the hostility has been killed.t17 And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near,18 so thatt through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father.19 So then you are no longer foreigners and noncitizens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of God’s household,20 because you have been builtt on the foundation of the apostles and prophets,s with Christ Jesus himself ast the cornerstone.t21 In himt the whole building,st being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord,
22 in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.
