하나님의 구원 경륜의 비밀

1 그러므로 이방 사람 여러분을 위하여 그리스도 [예수]의 일로 갇힌 몸이 된 나 바울이 말합니다. - 2 하나님께서 여러분을 위하여 일하도록 나에게 이 직분을 은혜로 주셨다는 것을, 여러분은 이미 들었을 줄 압니다. 3 하나님께서는 나에게 그 비밀을 계시로 알려 주셨습니다. 그것은 내가 이미 간략하게 적은 바와 같습니다. 4 여러분이 그것을 읽어보면, 내가 그리스도의 비밀을 어떻게 이해하고 있는지를 알게 될 것입니다. 5 지나간 다른 세대에서는 하나님께서 t그 비밀을 사람의 아들들에게 알려주지 아니하셨는데, 지금은 그분의 거룩한 사도들과 예언자들에게 성령으로 계시하여 주셨습니다. 6 그 비밀의 내용인즉 이방 사람들이 복음을 통하여 그리스도 예수 안에서 유대 사람들과 공동 상속자가 되고, 함께 한 몸이 되고, 약속을 함께 가지는 자가 되는 것입니다. 7 나는 이 복음을 섬기는 일꾼이 되었습니다. 내가 이렇게 된 것은 하나님께서 그분의 능력이 작용하는 대로 나에게 주신 그분의 은혜의 선물을 따른 것입니다. 8 하나님께서 모든 성도 가운데서 지극히 작은 자보다 더 작은 나에게 이 은혜를 주셔서, 그리스도의 헤아릴 수 없는 부요함을 이방 사람들에게 전하게 하시고, 9 만물을 창조하신 하나님 안에 영원 전부터 감추어져 있는 비밀의 계획이 무엇인지를 [모두에게] 밝히게 하셨습니다. 10 그것은 이제 교회를 통하여 하늘에 있는 통치자들과 권세자들에게 하나님의 갖가지 지혜를 알리시려는 것입니다. 11 이 일은, 하나님께서 우리 주 그리스도 예수 안에서 성취하신 영원한 뜻을 따른 것입니다. 12 우리는 그리스도를 믿음으로써, 그분 안에서 확신을 가지고, 담대하게 하나님께 나아갑니다. 13 그러므로 여러분을 위하여 당하는 나의 환난을 보고서, 여러분이 낙심하는 일이 없기를 바랍니다. 내가 당하는 환난은 여러분에게는 영광이 됩니다.

그리스도의 사랑을 알아라

14 그러므로 나는 t아버지께 무릎을 꿇고 빕니다. 15 아버지께서는 하늘과 땅에 있는 각 족속에게 이름을 붙여 주신 분이십니다. 16 아버지께서 그분의 영광의 풍성하심을 따라 그분의 성령을 통하여 여러분의 속 사람을 능력으로 강건하게 하여 주시고, 17 믿음으로 말미암아 그리스도를 여러분의 마음 속에 머물러 계시게 하여 주시기를 빕니다. 여러분이 사랑 속에 뿌리를 박고 터를 잡아서, 18 모든 성도와 함께 여러분이 그리스도의 사랑의 너비와 길이와 높이와 깊이가 어떠한지를 깨달을 수 있게 되고, 19 지식을 초월하는 그리스도의 사랑을 알게 되기를 빕니다. 그리하여 하나님의 온갖 충만하심으로 여러분이 충만하여지기를 바랍니다. 20 우리 가운데서 일하시는 능력을 따라, 우리가 구하거나 생각하는 것 이상으로 더욱 넘치게 주실 수 있는 분에게, 21 교회 안에서와 그리스도 예수 안에서, 영광이 대대로 영원무궁하도록 있기를 빕니다. 아멘.

EPHESIANS 3

Paul's Mission to //the Gentiles

1 Christ Jesus made me his prisoner, so I could help you Gentiles. 2 You have surely heard about God's gift of undeserved grace in choosing me to help you. 3 In fact, this letter tells you a little about how God has shown me his mysterious ways. 4 t As you read the letter, you will also find out how well I really do understand the mystery about Christ. 5 No one knew about this mystery until God's Spirit told it to his holy apostles and prophets.

6 And the mystery is this: Because of Christ Jesus, the good news has given the Gentiles a share in the promises God gave to the Jews. God has also let the Gentiles be part of the same body.
7 God treated me with kindness. His power worked in me, and it became my job to spread the good news. 8 I am the least important of all God's people. But God was kind and chose me to tell the Gentiles that because of Christ there are blessings that cannot be measured. 9 t God, who created everything, wanted me to help everyone understand the mysterious plan that had always been hidden in his mind.

10 Then God would use the church to show the powers and authorities in the spiritual world that he has many different kinds of wisdom.
11 God did this according to his eternal plan. And he was able to do what he had planned because of all Christ Jesus our Lord had done. 12 Christ now gives us courage and confidence, so we can come to God by faith.

13 This is why you should not be discouraged when I suffer for you. After all, it will bring honor to you.

Christ's Love for Us

14 I kneel in prayer to the Father. 15 All beings in heaven and on earth receive their life from him.t 16 God is wonderful and glorious. I pray that his Spirit will make you become strong followers 17 and that Christ will live in your hearts because of your faith. Stand firm and be deeply rooted in his love. 18 t I pray that you and all God's people will understand what is called wide or long or high or deep.t

19 I want you to know all about Christ's love, although it is too wonderful to be measured. Then your lives will be filled with all that God is.
20-21 I pray that Christ Jesus and the church will forever bring praise to God. His power at work in us can do far more than we dare ask or imagine. Amen.
