Efésios 4

Unidos pelo Espírito

1 Eu, pois, que sou prisioneiro por pertencer ao Senhor, peço-lhes que vivam de maneira digna das pessoas que foram chamadas por Deus.2 Sejam sempre humildes, gentis, pacientes, e tolerem uns aos outros com amor.3 Já que vocês estão unidos pela paz, façam tudo para preservar essa união que o Espíritot lhes dá.4 Há um só corpo e um só Espírito, como também vocês foram chamados numa só esperança.5 Há um só Senhor, uma só fé, um só batismot,

6 um só Deus e Pai de todos, que é o Senhor de todos, que age por meio de todos e que está em todos.
7 Cada um de nós recebeu seu dom especial, de acordo com o que Cristo quis dar.

8 É por isso que as Escriturast dizem:Quando ele subiu às alturas,levou consigo prisioneirose deu dons aos homens.t

9 O que quer dizer "ele subiu"? Quer dizer que ele primeiro desceu até as regiões mais baixas—até a terra.10 Aquele que desceu é o mesmo que também subiu acima do mais alto céu, para encher tudo com a sua presença.11 E o próprio Cristo deu a alguns o dom de serem apóstolost, a outros, o de serem profetast, a outros, o de serem evangelistast, e a outros, o de serem pastores e mestres.12 Estes dons foram dados com o propósito de preparar o povo de Deus para servir, e assim fortalecer o corpo de Cristo.

13 Isto deve continuar até estarmos todos unidos na mesma fé e no mesmo conhecimento a respeito do Filho de Deus. Assim seremos pessoas maduras e cresceremos até alcançarmos a altura espiritual de Cristo.
14 Então não seremos mais crianças, que são como navios agitados pelas ondas e levados de um lado para outro por todo tipo de ensinamento que apareça. Nem seremos enganados por pessoas astutas que querem nos levar pelos caminhos do erro.15 Ao contrário, falemos sempre a verdade com amor, e cresçamos para ser em tudo como Cristo, que é o cabeça,

16 e de quem todo o corpo depende. Todas as partes do corpo estão unidas e ligadas pelas juntas e, quando cada parte funciona como deve, todo o corpo cresce e fica cada vez mais forte em amor.

Como devemos viver

17 Portanto, em nome do Senhor eu quero avisá-los disto: Não continuem a viver como aqueles que não conhecem a Deus. Os pensamentos deles são inúteis,18 eles não têm entendimento, são ignorantes e os corações deles estão endurecidos. Por causa dessas coisas, eles estão separados da vida que Deus nos dá.19 Eles perderam toda a vergonha, entregaram-se à sensualidade e praticam todo o tipo de impureza, sem qualquer restrição.20 Mas não foi isto que vocês aprenderam a respeito de Cristo.21 Eu estou certo de que vocês ouviram falar a respeito dele e foram ensinados de acordo com a verdade que há em Jesus, uma vez que vocês eram seus seguidores.22 Com respeito à maneira que viviam, vocês foram ensinados a abandonar a natureza velha de vocês, que está sendo destruída pelos seus maus desejos.23 Vocês foram ensinados a viver com um espírito novo e com uma nova maneira de pensar

24 e também, a se vestir com uma natureza nova. Essa natureza nova é criada para ser semelhante a Deus, e é demonstrada com uma vida verdadeiramente justa e pura.
25 Portanto vocês não devem mentir mais. Falem sempre a verdade uns aos outros, porque todos fazemos parte uns dos outros, no mesmo corpo.26 Quando ficarem irados, não deixem que essa ira os leve a pecar, e não fiquem irados até o fim do dia.27 Não dêem chance ao diabo.

28 Quem roubava, não roube mais. Antes trabalhe, fazendo com as suas próprias mãos alguma coisa de bom, para que assim tenha com que ajudar aos pobres.
29 Vocês não devem dizer palavras sujas, mas somente palavras que sejam boas para a necessária edificação das pessoas, e que levem benefício aos que as ouvem.30 Não entristeçam o Espírito Santot de Deus, pois Ele é a marca de que vocês pertencem a Deus e a garantia de que Deus nos libertará algum dia.31 Deixem de lado a amargura, a raiva e a ira. Não gritem com os outros e nem falem mal deles. Afastem-se de todo tipo de maldade.

32 Antes sejam bons e tenham compaixão uns dos outros. Perdoem uns aos outros como também Deus, em Cristo, perdoou a vocês.

Ephesians 4

Unity of the Spirit

1 Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called,2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love,3 being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.4  There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling;5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism,6 one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.

7 But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift.8 Therefore it says,
"WHEN HE ASCENDED ON HIGH,
HE LED CAPTIVE A HOST OF CAPTIVES,
AND HE GAVE GIFTS TO MEN."9 (Now this expression, "He ascended," what does it mean except that He also had descended into the lower parts of the earth?10 He who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill all things.)11 And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ;13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming;15 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ,16 from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.

The Christian's Walk

17 So this I say, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind,18 being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart;19 and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness.20 But you did not learn Christ in this way,21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus,22 that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit,23 and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,24 and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

25 Therefore, laying aside falsehood, SPEAK TRUTH EACH ONE of you WITH HIS NEIGHBOR, for we are members of one another.26 BE ANGRY, AND yet DO NOT SIN; do not let the sun go down on your anger,27 and do not give the devil an opportunity.28 He who steals must steal no longer; but rather he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with one who has need.29 Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.32 Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven tyou.
