エペソ人への手紙 4

四

1 主に仕えたために、今こうして牢獄につながれている私から、お願いします。　このようにすばらしい祝福を受けるべくして選ばれたあなたがたは、それにふさわしく生活し、行動してください。　2 謙そんで柔和な人になってください。　愛をもって互いの欠点を思いやり、互いに忍耐してください。　3 聖霊様によって心を一つにされるよう常に努力し、互いに仲良く暮らしなさい。
4 私たちはみな、一つの体の各器官です。　だれもが同じ御霊様を与えられ、同じ輝かしい未来へと招かれています。　5 また、私たちの主はただ一人であり、信仰も一つであり、バプテスマ（洗礼）も一つだけです。　6 そして、私たちすべての上に立ち、すべての中に宿り、各器官である私たちを貫いて生きておられる、神であり父である方を、知っているのです。　7 けれども、キリスト様は私たち一人一人に、それぞれ特別の能力を与えてくださいました。　自分の豊かな賜物の宝庫から、お心のままに与えてくださったのです。
8 旧約聖書の詩篇の作者は、このことについて
「キリストは、復活してサタンに打ち勝ち、
勝利を得て天に帰られた時、
人々に惜しみなく賜物をお与えになった。」
と言っています。　9 ここで、キリスト様が天に帰られたという点に注意してください。　それは、最初は天の一番高い所におられたのに、地の一番低い所に下られたことを意味します。　10 この下って来られた方が、天に帰られたのです。　それは、キリスト様が、底辺から頂点に至るまで、あらゆる点であらゆるものを満たすためなのです。
11 さてこうして、ある者には使徒としての特別な能力が与えられ、ある者にはすぐれた説教者としての才能が与えられました。　また、キリスト様を救い主として信じるようにと人々を指導する、特別な能力を受けた者もいれば、羊を見守る羊飼いのように、神の民となった人たちの世話をし、神様のお考えにそって導き教える力を受けた者もいます。
12 なぜこのように、最善を尽くせる能力がそれぞれに与えられたのでしょうか。　それは、神の民となった人々が、神様のためにより良く働けるよう整え、キリスト様の体である教会を、力にあふれた、完成した状態へと建て上げるためです。　13 そしてついに、私たちはみな、救いについて、また救い主である神の子について、同じ信仰を持つに至り、主にあって完全に成長した者となるのです。――そうです、キリスト様に完全に満たされた状態にまで、成長するのです。
14 そこで、もはや、だれかから間違ったことを教えられたり、うそを真実のように、たくみに見せかけられたりしても、そのたびに、子供みたいにふらふらと、信じるものを変えてはいけません。　15 むしろ、誠実に語り、誠実にふるまい、誠実に生きて、常に真理に従うのを喜び、あらゆる点で、キリスト様〔教会の頭なる方〕にますます似た者となるのです。　16 このキリスト様の指揮下で、体全体がみごとに組み合わされ、各器官はそれぞれ特別な方法で他を助けます。　それは、体全体が健康になり、成長して、愛にあふれるためです。
17 そこで私は、主のために、このことを言わせていただきます。もうこれから先、救われていない人と同じ生き方をしてはなりません。　彼らは分別を失い、混乱しているのです。　18 その閉ざされた心の中は真っ暗です。　神様に対して心を閉ざしているので、神様のいのちから遠く離れています。　もちろん、神様のお気持ちなど理解できません。　19 彼らは、善悪の区別など、気にもとめません。　不潔な生き方にひたりきっています。　悪だくみと無分別な欲望に押し流され、それを食い止めるすべはありません。
20 しかし、キリスト様が教えてくださった生き方は、全く違います。　21 もしあなたがたが、ほんとうにキリスト様の声を聞き、キリスト様に関する真理を学んでいるなら、　22 古い邪悪な性質をかなぐり捨てなさい。　古い性質とは、悪い生き方の道連れであった、以前のあなたがた自身のことです。　それは、肉欲とごまかしにまみれ、骨の髄まで腐りきっていました。
23 今や、あなたがたの態度や考えをみな、より良い方向へ転換しなければなりません。　24 そうです、あなたがたは、全くの別人、きよく善良な人になるべきです。　この新しい性質を身にまといなさい。
25 私たちは互いに体の一部分なのですから、ごまかし合いをやめ、真実を語りなさい。　うそをつき合えば、自分自身を傷つけることになるのです。　26 腹を立てることがあっても、恨みをいだいて罪を犯してはなりません。　日暮れまで、怒ったままでいてはいけません。　すぐに冷静さを取り戻しなさい。　27 腹を立てていると、悪魔につけ込むすきを与えるからです。
28 盗みを働いていた人は、すぐにやめなさい。　まともに働きなさい。　そうすれば、困っている人に施すこともできます。　29 悪意あることばを口にしてはいけません。　ただ相手に益となり、助けとなること、また、祝福を与えることだけを話しなさい。
30 聖霊様を悲しませるような生き方をしてはいけません。　この聖霊様は、罪からの救いが完成する日のために、救いの確かな証印を押してくださる方であることを、忘れてはなりません。
31 意地悪、不きげん、怒りを捨てなさい。　けんか、とげのあることば、えこひいきが日常生活に巣くっていてはなりません。　32 むしろ、互いに親切にし、心のやさしい人になりなさい。　そして、あなたがたを、キリストのものとなったということで赦してくださった神様にならい、お互いに赦し合いなさい。

Ephesians 4

1 I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beseech you to walk worthily of the calling wherewith ye were called,2 with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;3 giving diligence to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as also ye were called in one hope of your calling;5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism,6 one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all.7 But unto each one of us was the grace given according to the measure of the gift of Christ.8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, And gave gifts unto men.9 (Now this, He ascended, what is it but that he also descended into the lower parts of the earth?10 He that descended is the same also that ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)11 And he gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;12 for the perfecting of the saints, unto the work of ministering, unto the building up of the body of Christ:13 till we all attain unto the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a fullgrown man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:14 that we may be no longer children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error;15 but speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, even Christ;16 from whom all the body fitly framed and knit together through that which every joint supplieth, according to the working in due measure of each several part, maketh the increase of the body unto the building up of itself in love.17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye no longer walk as the Gentiles also walk, in the vanity of their mind,18 being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their heart;19 who being past feeling gave themselves up to lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.20 But ye did not so learn Christ;21 if so be that ye heard him, and were taught in him, even as truth is in Jesus:22 that ye put away, as concerning your former manner of life, the old man, that waxeth corrupt after the lusts of deceit;23 and that ye be renewed in the spirit of your mind,24 and put on the new man, that after God hath been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.25 Wherefore, putting away falsehood, speak ye truth each one with his neighbor: for we are members one of another.26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:27 neither give place to the devil.28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have whereof to give to him that hath need.29 Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for edifying as the need may be, that it may give grace to them that hear.30 And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, in whom ye were sealed unto the day of redemption.31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and railing, be put away from you, with all malice:32 and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, even as God also in Christ forgave you.
