Efézusiakhoz 4
A Test egysége
1 Ezért én, aki fogságban vagyok az Úrért, arra kérlek benneteket, hogy Istentől kapott meghívásotokhoz méltóan éljetek!
2 Legyetek mindig alázatosak, szelídek, türelmesek, és isteni szeretettel viseljétek el egymást!
3 A Szent Szellem a békesség kötelével vesz körül, és így köt össze benneteket. Minden igyekezettel arra törekedjetek, hogy ezt az egységet őrizzétek meg!
4 Csak egy Test van és egy Szent Szellem, mint ahogy ugyanarra az egy reménységre hívott meg Isten benneteket.
5 Csak egy Úr van, egy hit és egy bemerítkezés.
6 Csak egy Isten van — mindenek Atyja — aki uralkodik minden felett, mindenen keresztül cselekszik, és mindenhol jelen van.
7 Közülünk mindenki kapott valamilyen kegyelmet, annak megfelelően, hogy Krisztus milyen ajándékot adott neki.
8 Ezért mondja az Írás
„Amikor felment a magasságba,
foglyokat vitt magával,
és ajándékokat adott az embereknek.” Zsolt 68:19
9 Amikor azt mondja, hogy „felment”, az azt jelenti, hogy előzőleg Krisztus lejött a Földre.
10 Jézus Krisztus az, aki alászállt, majd felemelkedett az egek fölé, hogy azután betöltse a világmindenséget.
11 Igen, ő az, aki apostolokat, prófétákat, evangélistákat, pásztorokat és tanítókat adott ajándékul az embereknek.
12 Azért adta őket, hogy felkészítsék és kiképezzék Isten népét feladatukra, a szolgálatra — hogy ezáltal felépítsék és megerősítsék a Krisztus „Testét”.
13 Meddig fog tartani ez az építés? Addig, amíg mindannyian ugyanúgy fogunk hinni, amíg ugyanúgy megismerjük Isten Fiát, amíg mindannyian egészen felnőtté válunk, és minden tekintetben Krisztusra fogunk hasonlítani.
14 Akkor majd nem leszünk többé olyanok, mint a kisgyerekek. A különböző tanítások nem fognak ide-oda dobálni és elsodorni bennünket, mint a szél és a hullámok a csónakot. Akkor majd nem fog többé befolyásolni bennünket az emberek tévútra vezető ravaszsága.
15 Nem! Mi az igazságot mondjuk, de isteni szeretettel. Növekedjünk fel, hogy egyre jobban és minden tekintetben hasonlítsunk Krisztusra! Mert Krisztus a „Fej”, és mi vagyunk az ő „Teste”.
16 A „Test” pedig egészen Krisztustól függ. Ő kapcsolja, és tartja össze annak részeit. Ahogyan minden egyes „testrész” a saját feladatát végzi, úgy növekszik, épül és erősödik az isteni szeretet által az egész „Test”.
Gyakorlati tanácsok
17 Ezért mondom nektek — sőt, figyelmeztetlek benneteket az Úr nevében — hogy többé már ne éljetek úgy, mint a hitetlen nem zsidó emberek. Őket hiábavaló gondolatok vezérelik,
18 gondolkozásuk elsötétült. Istentől, aki az élet forrása, elszakadtak, mert tudatlanok, és a szívük megkeményedett.
19 Mindenféle gonosz és rossz dolgot tesznek, de már nem is szégyellik magukat, annyira elmerültek ezekben.
20 Ti azonban Krisztust egészen másmilyennek ismertétek meg!
21 Tudom, hogy már hallottatok róla, és őbenne meg is tanítottak titeket az igazságra. Igen, az igazság Jézusban található!
22 Megtanítottak benneteket rá, hogy a korábbi gonosz életmódotokat hagyjátok el, és vessétek le a „régi embert”. Ez ugyanis teljesen megromlott a saját vágyai miatt, amelyek rossz irányba vezették.
23 Megtanítottak benneteket arra is, hogy gondolkodásotokat teljesen meg kell újítanotok,
24 és hogy fel kell öltözzétek az „új embert”, akit Isten úgy teremtett, hogy hozzá hasonlítson, igazságosságban és szentségben éljen.
25 Ezért soha többé ne hazudjatok! „Minden ember igazat mondjon”t, hiszen mindannyian ugyanahhoz a „Testhez” tartozunk!
26 „Még ha haragudtok is, de ne vétkezzetek!”t Mielőtt a nap véget ér, szabaduljatok meg a haragtól!
27 Ne adjatok helyet magatokban a Sátánnak, ne adjatok neki semmi lehetőséget!
28 Aki eddig lopott, többé ne lopjon, hanem dolgozzon, és végezzen hasznos munkát, hogy még a szegényeknek is adhasson valamit!
29 Soha többé ne káromkodjatok, ne használjatok csúnya szavakat. Csak olyat mondjatok, ami a javát szolgálja annak, aki hallja! Legyen a beszédetek kedves és építő!
30 Isten Szent Szellemét ne szomorítsátok el! Hiszen Isten a Szent Szellem által előre megjelölt benneteket arra az időre, amikor elnyeritek a teljes megváltást! Ez a megjelölés mutatja, hogy Istenhez tartoztok, és az övéi vagytok.
31 Tisztítsátok ki magatokból a keserűséget, haragot, indulatosságot és mindenféle egyéb gonoszságot. Soha ne kiabáljatok mérgesen a másikra, ne kívánjatok rosszat senkinek, ne átkozódjatok!
32 Ellenkezőleg, legyetek mindig kedvesek és együttérzők! Bocsássatok meg egymásnak, amiként Isten is megbocsátott nektek Krisztusban.
Ephesians 4
Unity of the Spirit
1 Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called,2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love,3 being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling;5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism,6 one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.
7 But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift.8 Therefore it says,
"WHEN HE ASCENDED ON HIGH,
HE LED CAPTIVE A HOST OF CAPTIVES,
AND HE GAVE GIFTS TO MEN."9 (Now this expression, "He ascended," what does it mean except that He also had descended into the lower parts of the earth?10 He who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill all things.)11 And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ;13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming;15 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ,16 from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.
The Christian's Walk
17 So this I say, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind,18 being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart;19 and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness.20 But you did not learn Christ in this way,21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus,22 that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit,23 and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,24 and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.
25 Therefore, laying aside falsehood, SPEAK TRUTH EACH ONE of you WITH HIS NEIGHBOR, for we are members of one another.26 BE ANGRY, AND yet DO NOT SIN; do not let the sun go down on your anger,27 and do not give the devil an opportunity.28 He who steals must steal no longer; but rather he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with one who has need.29 Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.32 Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven tyou.
