Efeseni 4
1 Vă sfătuiesc, dar, eu, cel întemnițat pentru Domnul, să vă purtați într-un chip vrednic de chemarea pe care ați primit-o,2 cu toată smerenia și blândețea, cu îndelungă răbdare; îngăduiți-vă unii pe alții în dragoste3 și căutați să păstrați unirea Duhului, prin legătura păcii.4 Este un singur trup, un singur Duh, după cum și voi ați fost chemați la o singură nădejde a chemării voastre.5 Este un singur Domn, o singură credință, un singur botez.6 Este un singur Dumnezeu și Tată al tuturor, care este mai presus de toți, care lucrează prin toți și care este în toți.7 Dar fiecăruia din noi harul i-a fost dat după măsura darului lui Hristos.8 De aceea este zis: „S-a suit sus, a luat robia roabă și a dat daruri oamenilor.”9 Și acest: „S-a suit” ce înseamnă decât că înainte Se coborâse în părțile mai de jos ale pământului?10 Cel ce S-a coborât este același cu Cel ce S-a suit mai presus de toate cerurile ca să umple toate lucrurile.11 Și El a dat pe unii apostoli; pe alții, proroci; pe alții, evangheliști; pe alții, păstori și învățători,12 pentru desăvârșirea sfinților, în vederea lucrării de slujire, pentru zidirea trupului lui Hristos,13 până vom ajunge toți la unirea credinței și a cunoștinței Fiului lui Dumnezeu, la starea de om mare, la înălțimea staturii plinătății lui Hristos;14 ca să nu mai fim copii, plutind încoace și încolo, purtați de orice vânt de învățătură, prin viclenia oamenilor și prin șiretenia lor în mijloacele de amăgire;15 ci, credincioși adevărului, în dragoste, să creștem în toate privințele, ca să ajungem la Cel ce este Capul, Hristos.16 Din El tot trupul, bine închegat și strâns legat, prin ceea ce dă fiecare încheietură, își primește creșterea, potrivit cu lucrarea fiecărei părți în măsura ei, și se zidește în dragoste.17 Iată, dar, ce vă spun și mărturisesc eu în Domnul: să nu mai trăiți cum trăiesc păgânii în deșertăciunea gândurilor lor,18 având mintea întunecată, fiind străini de viața lui Dumnezeu, din pricina neștiinței în care se află în urma împietririi inimii lor.19 Ei și-au pierdut orice pic de simțire, s-au dedat la desfrânare și săvârșesc cu lăcomie orice fel de necurăție.20 Dar voi n-ați învățat așa pe Hristos;21 dacă, cel puțin, L-ați ascultat și dacă, potrivit adevărului care este în Isus, ați fost învățați22 cu privire la felul vostru de viață din trecut, să vă dezbrăcați de omul cel vechi care se strică după poftele înșelătoare;23 și să vă înnoiți în duhul minții voastre,24 și să vă îmbrăcați în omul cel nou, făcut după chipul lui Dumnezeu, de o neprihănire și sfințenie pe care o dă adevărul.25 De aceea, lăsați-vă de minciună: „Fiecare dintre voi să spună aproapelui său adevărul”, pentru că suntem mădulare unii altora.26 „Mâniați-vă, și nu păcătuiți.” Să n-apună soarele peste mânia voastră27 și să nu dați prilej diavolului.28 Cine fura să nu mai fure; ci mai degrabă să lucreze cu mâinile lui la ceva bun, ca să aibă ce să dea celui lipsit.29 Niciun cuvânt stricat să nu vă iasă din gură; ci unul bun, pentru zidire, după cum e nevoie, ca să dea har celor ce-l aud.30 Să nu întristați pe Duhul Sfânt al lui Dumnezeu, prin care ați fost pecetluiți pentru ziua răscumpărării.31 Orice amărăciune, orice iuțeală, orice mânie, orice strigare, orice clevetire și orice fel de răutate să piară din mijlocul vostru.32 Dimpotrivă, fiți buni unii cu alții, miloși și iertați-vă unul pe altul, cum v-a iertat și Dumnezeu pe voi în Hristos.
Ephesians 4
1 I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beseech you to walk worthily of the calling wherewith ye were called,2 with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;3 giving diligence to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as also ye were called in one hope of your calling;5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism,6 one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all.7 But unto each one of us was the grace given according to the measure of the gift of Christ.8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, And gave gifts unto men.9 (Now this, He ascended, what is it but that he also descended into the lower parts of the earth?10 He that descended is the same also that ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)11 And he gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;12 for the perfecting of the saints, unto the work of ministering, unto the building up of the body of Christ:13 till we all attain unto the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a fullgrown man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:14 that we may be no longer children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error;15 but speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, even Christ;16 from whom all the body fitly framed and knit together through that which every joint supplieth, according to the working in due measure of each several part, maketh the increase of the body unto the building up of itself in love.17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye no longer walk as the Gentiles also walk, in the vanity of their mind,18 being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their heart;19 who being past feeling gave themselves up to lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.20 But ye did not so learn Christ;21 if so be that ye heard him, and were taught in him, even as truth is in Jesus:22 that ye put away, as concerning your former manner of life, the old man, that waxeth corrupt after the lusts of deceit;23 and that ye be renewed in the spirit of your mind,24 and put on the new man, that after God hath been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.25 Wherefore, putting away falsehood, speak ye truth each one with his neighbor: for we are members one of another.26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:27 neither give place to the devil.28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have whereof to give to him that hath need.29 Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for edifying as the need may be, that it may give grace to them that hear.30 And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, in whom ye were sealed unto the day of redemption.31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and railing, be put away from you, with all malice:32 and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, even as God also in Christ forgave you.
