Epheser 6

1 Ihr Kinder, gehorchet euren Eltern im Herrn, denn das ist recht. "Ehre deinen Vater und deine Mutter",2 welches das erste Gebot mit Verheißung ist,3 "auf daß es dir wohlgehe und du lange lebest auf der Erde".4 Und ihr Väter, reizet eure Kinder nicht zum Zorn, sondern ziehet sie auf in der Zucht und Ermahnung des Herrn.5 Ihr Knechte, gehorchet euren Herren nach dem Fleische mit Furcht und Zittern, in Einfalt eures Herzens, als dem Christus;6 nicht mit Augendienerei, als Menschengefällige, sondern als Knechte Christi, indem ihr den Willen Gottes von Herzen tut,7 und mit Gutwilligkeit dienet, als dem Herrn und nicht den Menschen,8 da ihr wisset, daß, was irgend ein jeder Gutes tun wird, er dies vom Herrn empfangen wird, er sei Sklave oder Freier.9 Und ihr Herren, tut dasselbe gegen sie und lasset das Drohen, da ihr wisset, daß sowohl ihr als euer Herr in den Himmeln ist, und daß bei ihm kein Ansehen der Person ist.10 Übrigens, Brüder, seid stark in dem Herrn und in der Macht seiner Stärke.11 Ziehet an die ganze Waffenrüstung Gottes, damit ihr zu bestehen vermöget wider die Listen des Teufels.12 Denn unser Kampf ist nicht wider Fleisch und Blut, sondern wider die Fürstentümer, wider die Gewalten, wider die Weltbeherrscher dieser Finsternis, wider die geistlichen Mächte der Bosheit in den himmlischen Örtern.13 Deshalb nehmet die ganze Waffenrüstung Gottes, auf daß ihr an dem bösen Tage zu widerstehen und, nachdem ihr alles ausgerichtet habt, zu stehen vermöget.14 Stehet nun, eure Lenden umgürtet mit Wahrheit, und angetan mit dem Brustharnisch der Gerechtigkeit,15 und beschuht an den Füßen mit der Bereitschaft des Evangeliums des Friedens,16 indem ihr über das alles ergriffen habt den Schild des Glaubens, mit welchem ihr imstande sein werdet, alle feurigen Pfeile des Bösen auszulöschen.17 Nehmet auch den Helm des Heils und das Schwert des Geistes, welches Gottes Wort ist;18 zu aller Zeit betend mit allem Gebet und Flehen in dem Geiste, und eben hierzu wachend in allem Anhalten und Flehen für alle Heiligen,19 und für mich, auf daß mir Rede verliehen werde im Auftun meines Mundes, um mit Freimütigkeit kundzutun das Geheimnis des Evangeliums,20 (für welches ich ein Gesandter bin in Ketten), damit ich in demselben freimütig rede, wie ich reden soll.21 Auf daß aber auch ihr meine Umstände wisset, wie es mir geht, so wird Tychikus, der geliebte Bruder und treue Diener im Herrn, euch alles kundtun,22 den ich eben deshalb zu euch gesandt habe, auf daß ihr unsere Umstände wisset, und er eure Herzen tröste.23 Friede den Brüdern und Liebe mit Glauben von Gott, dem Vater, und dem Herrn Jesus Christus!24 Die Gnade mit allen denen, die unseren Herrn Jesus Christus lieben in Unverderblichkeit!

Ephesians 6

1 Children,t obey your parents in the Lords for this is right.2 “Honor your father and mother,”s which is the first commandment accompanied by a promise, namely,

3 “that it may gotwell with you and that you will liveta long time on the earth.”s

4 Fathers,t do not provoke your children to anger,t but raise them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
5 Slaves,t obey your human masterst with fear and trembling, in the sincerity of your heart as to Christ,6 not like those who do their work only when someone is watchingt – as people-pleasers – but as slaves of Christ doing the will of God from the heart.t7 Obeyt with enthusiasm, as though serving the Lordt and not people,

8 because you know that each person, whether slave or free, if he does something good, thiss will be rewarded by the Lord.

9 Masters,t treat your slavest the same way,t giving up the use of threats,t because you know that both you and they have the same master in heaven,t and there is no favoritism with him.

Exhortations for Spiritual Warfare

10 Finally, be strengthened in the Lord and in the strength of his power.11 Clothe yourselves with the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the schemest of the devil.12 For our strugglet is not against flesh and blood,t but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world rulers of this darkness,ts against the spiritual forcest of evil in the heavens.s13 For this reason, take up the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand your groundt on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand.14 Stand firm therefore, by fastenings the belt of truth around your waist,t by putting on the breastplate of righteousness,15 by fitting yourt feet with the preparation that comes from the good newst of peace,t16 and in all of this,t by taking up the shields of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.17 And take the helmet of salvations and the swords of the Spirit, which is the word of God.18 With every prayer and petition, prayt at all times in the Spirit, and to this endt be alert, with all perseverance and requests for all the saints.19 Prayt for me also, that I may be given the message when I begin to speakt – that I may confidently make knownt the mystery of the gospel,

20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may be able to speak boldly as I ought to speak.

21 Tychicus, myt dear brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will make everything known to you, so that you too may know about my circumstances,t how I am doing.

22 I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know our circumstancest and that he may encourage your hearts.
23 Peace to the brothers and sisters,t and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

24 Grace bet with all of those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.st
