Ester 10

1 Und der König Ahasveros legte dem Lande und den Inseln des Meeres eine Abgabe auf.2 Und alle Taten seiner Gewalt und seiner Macht und die Beschreibung der Größe Mordokais, zu welcher der König ihn erhob, sind sie nicht geschrieben in dem Buche der Chroniken der Könige der Meder und Perser?3 Denn Mordokai, der Jude, war der Zweite nach dem König Ahasveros, und groß bei den Juden, und wohlgefällig der Menge seiner Brüder; er suchte das Wohl seines Volkes und redete zur Wohlfahrt seines ganzen Geschlechts.

Mordecai’s Fame Increases

1 King Ahasuerus then imposed forced labor on the land and on the coastlands of the sea.2 Now all the actions carried out under his authority and his great achievements, along with an exact statement concerning the greatness of Mordecai, whom the king promoted, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Media and Persia?

3 Mordecai the Jew was second only to King Ahasuerus. He was the highest-rankingt Jew, and he was admired by his numerous relatives.t He worked enthusiasticallyt for the good of his people and was an advocate for the welfare oft all his descendants.s
