Ezechiel 2

Posílám tě k Izraelcům

1 „Synu člověčí,“ řekl mi, „postav se na nohy. Chci s tebou mluvit.“ 2 Když ke mně promluvil, vstoupil do mě Duch a postavil mě na nohy. Tehdy jsem slyšel, jak ke mně promlouvá.

3 „Synu člověčí,“ řekl mi, „posílám tě k Izraelcům, k těm vzpurným pohanům, kteří se bouří proti mně. Stejně jako jejich otcové i oni mě až do dneška stále jen zrazovali. 4 Synové, k nimž tě posílám, jsou paličatí a zatvrzelí. Proto jim řekni: ‚Tak praví Panovník Hospodin.‘ 5 Ať už poslechnou nebo ne – vždyť je to banda vzbouřenců – aspoň poznají, že měli mezi sebou proroka. 6 Ty, synu člověčí, se jich však neboj. Neboj se ani jejich slov, i když jsi obklopen trním a bodláčím a žiješ mezi štíry. Neboj se jejich slov a nelekej se jejich pohledů – vždyť je to banda vzbouřenců. 7 Vyřiď jim má slova, ať už poslechnou nebo ne – vždyť jsou to vzbouřenci. 8 Ty, synu člověčí, však poslouchej, co ti řeknu. Nevzpírej se jako ta banda vzbouřenců. Otevři ústa a sněz, co ti dávám.“

9 Podíval jsem se a hle – proti mně natažená ruka a v ní svitek. 10 Rozvinul ho přede mnou; zepředu i zezadu byl celý popsán slovy nářků, úpění a bědování.

Ezekiel’s Commission

1 He said to me, “Son of man,s stand on your feet and I will speak with you.”

2 As he spoke to me,s a windt came into me and stood me on my feet, and I heard the one speaking to me.
3 He said to me, “Son of man, I am sending you to the houses of Israel, to rebellious nationss who have rebelled against me; both they and their fathers have revoltedst against me to this very day.4 The peoplet to whom I am sending you are obstinate and hard-hearted,s and you must say to them, ‘This is what the sovereign Lord says.’t5 And as for them,t whether they listent or not – for they are a rebellioust houses – they will know that a prophet has been among them.6 But you, son of man, do not fear them, and do not fear their words – even though brierst and thornsts surround you and you live among scorpions – do not fear their words and do not be terrified of the looks they give you,t for they are a rebellious house!7 You must speak my words to them whether they listen or not, for they are rebellious.

8 As for you, son of man, listen to what I am saying to you: Do not rebel like that rebellious house! Open your mouth and eat what I am giving you.”
9 Then I looked and realized a hand was stretched out to me, and in it was a written scroll.

10 He unrolled it before me, and it had writing on the frontt and back;s written on it were laments, mourning, and woe.
