第4章

1 人の子よ、一枚のかわらを取って、あなたの前に置き、その上にエルサレムの町を描きなさい。2 そしてこれを取り囲み、これにむかって雲梯を設け、塁を築き、陣を張り、その回りに城くずしを備えてこれを攻めなさい。3 また鉄の板をとり、それをあなたと町の間に置いて鉄の壁となし、あなたの顔をこれに向けなさい。町をこのように囲んで、その包囲を押し進めなさい。これがイスラエルの家のしるしである。4 あなたはまた自分の左脇を下にして寝なさい。わたしはあなたの上にイスラエルの家の罰を置く。あなたはこのようにして寝ている日の間、彼らの罰を負わなければならない。5 わたしは彼らの罰の年数に等しいその日数、すなわち三百九十日をあなたのために定める。その間あなたはイスラエルの家の罰を負わなければならない。6 あなたはその期間を終ったなら、また右脇を下にして寝て、ユダの家の罰を負わなければならない。わたしは一日を一年として四十日をあなたのために定める。7 あなたは自分の顔をエルサレムの包囲の方に向け、腕をあらわし、町に向かって預言しなければならない。8 見よ、わたしはあなたに、なわをかけて、あなたの包囲の期間の終るまで、左右に動くことができないようにする。9 あなたはまた小麦、大麦、豆、レンズ豆、あわ、はだか麦を取って、一つの器に入れ、これでパンを造り、あなたが横になって寝る日の数、すなわち三百九十日の間これを食べなければならない。10 あなたが食べる食物は量って一日に二十シケルである。あなたは一日に一度これを食べなければならない。11 また水を量って一ヒンの六分の一を一日に一度飲まなければならない。12 あなたは大麦の菓子のようにしてこれを食べなさい。すなわち彼らの目の前でこれを人の糞で焼かなければならない」。13 そして主は言われた、「このようにイスラエルの民はわたしが追いやろうとする国々の中で汚れたパンを食べなければならない」。14 そこでわたしは言った、「ああ、主なる神よ、わたしは自分を汚したことはありません。わたしは幼い時から今日まで、自然に死んだものや、野獣に裂き殺されたものを食べたことはありません。また汚れた肉がわたしの口にはいったことはありません」。15 すると彼はわたしに言われた、「見よ、わたしは牛の糞をもって人の糞に換えることをあなたにゆるす。あなたはそれで自分のパンを整えなさい」。16 またわたしに言われた、「人の子よ、見よ、わたしはエルサレムで人のつえとするパンを打ち砕く。彼らはパンを量って、恐れながら食べ、また水を量って驚きながら飲む。17 これは彼らをパンと水とに乏しくし、互に驚いて顔を見合わせ、その罰のために衰えさせるためである。

Ominous Object Lessons

1 “And you, son of man, take a bricks and set it in front of you. Inscribet a city on it – Jerusalem.2 Lay siege to it! Build siege works against it. Erect a siege rampt against it! Post soldiers outside itt and station battering rams around it.

3 Then for your part take an iron frying pant and set it up as an iron wall between you and the city. Set your face toward it. It is to be under siege; you are to besiege it. This is a signt for the house of Israel.
4 “Also for your part lie on your left side and place the iniquityt of the house of Israel on it. For the number of days you lie on your side you will bear their iniquity.

5 I have determined that the number of the years of their iniquity are to be the number of dayst for you – 390 days.ss So bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.t
6 “When you have completed these days, then lie down a second time, but on your right side, and bear the iniquity of the house of Judah 40 dayss – I have assigned one day for each year.7 You must turn your face toward the siege of Jerusalem with your arm bared and prophesy against it.

8 Look here, I will tie you up with ropes, so you cannot turn from one side to the other until you complete the days of your siege.s
9 “As for you, take wheat, barley, beans, lentils, millet, and spelt,s put them in a single container, and make foodt from them for yourself. For the same number of days that you lie on your side – 390 dayss – you will eat it.10 The food you eat will be eight ouncess a day by weight; you must eat it at fixedt times.11 And you must drink water by measure, a pint and a half;s you must drink it at fixed times.12 And you must eat the food like you would a barley cake. You must bake it in front of them over a fire made with dried human excrement.”s

13 And the Lord said, “This is how the people of Israel will eat their unclean food among the nationss where I will banish them.”

14 And I said, “Ah, sovereign Lord, I have never been ceremonially defiled before. I have never eaten a carcass or an animal torn by wild beasts; from my youth up, unclean meatt has never entered my mouth.”

15 So he said to me, “All right then, I will substitute cow’s manure instead of human excrement. You will cook your food over it.”
16 Then he said to me, “Son of man, I am about to remove the bread supplyt in Jerusalem.s They will eat their bread ration anxiously, and they will drink their water ration in terror

17 because they will lack bread and water. Each one will be terrified, and they will rot for their iniquity.t
