Galasiërs 6

Christene moet mekaar help

1 Vriende, die Heilige Gees regeer julle lewens. Daarom, wanneer julle sien iemand doen sonde, dan moet julle mooi met hom praat en hom help om reg te lewe. Maar pasop dat julle nie dieselfde sonde doen nie.

2 Julle moet mekaar help wanneer julle swaarkry, want dan doen julle wat Christus wil hê.
3 Wanneer iemand dink dat hy belangrik is, maar hy is nie belangrik nie, dan dink hy dat hy iets is wat hy nie is nie. 4 Elkeen van julle moet kyk wat hy self doen. As dit goed is, dan kan hy trots voel op dit wat hy self doen, en nie oor die dinge wat iemand anders doen nie.

5 Want elkeen sal self vir God moet verduidelik hoekom hy dinge gedoen het.

6 As iemand die boodskap van God vir julle leer, dan moet julle vir hom ook gee van al die goeie dinge wat julle het.
7 Julle moenie ’n fout maak en dink God is nie belangrik nie. Julle moet dit weet: Die dinge wat julle saai, dit sal julle terugkry. 8 As die dinge wat julle saai, die verkeerde dinge is wat mense graag doen, dan sal julle ook die verkeerde dinge terugkry, julle sal sterf. Maar as die dinge wat julle saai, die dinge is wat die Gees wil hê, dan sal julle die tewige lewe kry wat die Gees vir julle gee. 9 Ja, ons moenie ophou om goeie dinge te doen nie, want as ons aanhou om goeie dinge te doen, dan sal ons op die regte tyd die ewige lewe kry.

10 Daarom, ons moet vir almal goed wees terwyl ons tyd het, vir die mense wat in Christus glo, en dan ook vir ander mense.

Die einde van die brief

11 Nou skryf ek met my eie hand. Julle kan sien hoe groot die letters is.
12 Daardie mense wat aanhou sê julle moet julle laat tbesny, doen dit omdat hulle net belangstel in mense se liggame. Hulle doen dit, want hulle is bang dat hulle sal swaarkry as hulle moet sê dat mense net moet glo in Christus wat tgekruisig is, nie ook in die besnydenis nie. 13 Hulle is besny, maar hulle doen self nie wat die wette sê nie. Hulle wil julle laat besny, sodat hulle kan spog oor wat hulle met julle gedoen het. 14 Ek wil nie soos hulle wees nie. Ek wil net oor een ding spog, en dit is oor die kruis van ons Here Jesus Christus. Hy het vir my gesterf, en daarom is die dinge waaroor die mense spog, nie belangrik vir my nie, en ek is nie belangrik vir daardie mense wat oor hierdie dinge spog nie. 15 Want dit is nie belangrik of ’n mens besny is of nie besny is nie. Die belangrikste is: Ons Here Jesus Christus het ons verander, ons is nou nuwe mense.

16 As mense so lewe, dan sal God vir hulle vrede gee en Hy sal baie goed wees vir hulle. Die mense wat so lewe, is nou Israel, die volk van God.

17 Niemand moet my nou weer oor hierdie dinge pla nie, want ek het al baie swaar gekry vir Jesus. ’n Mens kan die merke daarvan op my liggaam sien.
18 Vriende, ek bid dat ons Here Jesus Christus tgenadig sal wees vir julle. Amen.

Galatians 6

Do Good to Everyone

1 Brothers and sisters, what if someone is caught in a sin? Then you who are guided by the Spirit should correct that person. Do it in a gentle way. But be careful. You could be tempted too.2 Carry each other's heavy loads. If you do, you will give the law of Christ its full meaning.
3 If you think you are somebody when you are nobody, you are fooling yourselves.4 Each of you should put your own actions to the test. Then you can take pride in yourself. You won't be comparing yourself to somebody else.5 Each of you should carry your own load.
6 Those who are taught the word must share all good things with their teacher.
7 Don't be fooled. You can't outsmart God. A man gathers a crop from what he plants.8 Some people plant to please their sinful nature. From that nature they will harvest death. Others plant to please the Holy Spirit. From the Spirit they will harvest eternal life.
9 Let us not become tired of doing good. At the right time we will gather a crop if we don't give up.10 So when we can do good to everyone, let us do it. Let us make a special point of doing good to those who belong to the family of believers.

The Creation of a New Nature

11 Look at the big letters I'm using as I write to you with my own hand!
12 Some people want others to think well of them. They are trying to force you to be circumcised. They do it for only one reason. They don't want to suffer by being connected with the cross of Christ.13 Even those who are circumcised don't obey the law. But they want you to be circumcised. Then they can brag about what has been done to your body.
14 I never want to brag about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Through that cross the ways of the world have been crucified as far as I am concerned. And I have been crucified as far as the ways of the world are concerned.
15 Circumcision and uncircumcision don't mean anything. What really counts is the creation of a new nature.
16 May peace and mercy be given to all who follow this rule. May peace and mercy be given to the Israel that belongs to God.
17 Finally, let no one cause trouble for me. My body has marks that show I belong to Jesus.
18 Brothers and sisters, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
