Isus Krist je Božji Sin

1 Bog je nekoć više puta i na mnoge načine govorio našim precima kroz proroke.2 Ali u ove zadnje dane nama je progovorio kroz svojega Sina. Njega, po kojemu je sve stvorio, postavio je za baštinika svega.

3 Sin je odsjaj Božje slave i otisak njegova Bića. On održava svemir snagom svoje silne riječi. Pošto je umro da nas očisti od grijeha, sjeo je na počasno mjesto, zdesna veličanstvenome Bogu u nebu.

Isus je uzvišeniji od anđela

4 To pokazuje da je Božji Sin mnogo uzvišeniji od anđela, kao što je i ime koje je baštinio uzvišenije od njihovih imena.

5 Jer kome je od anđela ikada rekao:
"Ti si moj Sin,
danas sam ti postao Ocem."
I još:
"Ja ću mu biti Otac,
a on će meni biti Sin."6 A kada je predstavio svojeg prvorođenca svijetu, Bog je rekao: "Klanjajte mu se, svi anđeli Božji!"

7 Bog za svoje anđele kaže da ih on čini
"glasnicima brzim poput vjetra
i slugama poput ognjenih plamenova."8 Ali za svojega Sina kaže:
"Tvoje kraljevstvo, o Bože,
traje zauvijek.
Ti vladaš žezlom pravednosti.9 Ti ljubiš pravednost i mrziš nepravednost.
Zato te je, Bože, tvoj Bog, pomazao
uljem radosti više nego ijednoga tvojeg druga."10 I još:
"Gospodine, u početku si postavio
temelje zemlji
i nebesa su djelo tvojih ruku.11 Čak će i ona nestati, ali ti ostaješ zauvijek.12 Smotat ćeš ih poput starog kaputa
i nestat će kao stara odjeća.
Ali ti si uvijek isti;
tvojim godinama nema svršetka."13 Bog nikada nije nekom anđelu rekao:
"Sjedni mi s desne strane
dok ti ne bacim pod noge
tvoje neprijatelje."14 Jer anđeli su samo poslužnički duhovi koje Bog šalje služiti onima koji će baštiniti spasenje.

Hebrews 1

Introduction: God Has Spoken Fully and Finally in His Son

1 After God spoke long agot in various portionst and in various wayst to our ancestorst through the prophets,2 in these last days he has spoken to us in a son,ts whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he created the world.t3 The Son ist the radiance of his glory and the representation of his essence, and he sustains all things by his powerful word,t and so when he had accomplished cleansing for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.s

4 Thus he becamet so far better than the angels asts he has inherited a name superior to theirs.

The Son Is Superior to Angels

5 For to which of the angels did Godt ever say, “You are my son! Today I have fathered you”?ts And in another placet he says,t “I will be his father and he will be my son.”ts6 But when he again bringst his firstborn into the world, he says, “Let all the angels of God worship him!”s7 And he sayss of the angels, “He makesthis angels spirits and his ministers a flame of fire,”s

8 but oft the Son he says,t
“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever,t
and a righteous sceptertis the scepter of your kingdom.

9 You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness.
So God, your God, has anointed you over your companionsswith the oil of rejoicing.”s

10 And,
“You founded the earth in the beginning, Lord,s
and the heavens are the works of your hands.

11 They will perish, but you continue.
And they will all grow old like a garment,

12 and like a robe you will fold them up
and like a garmentsssthey will be changed,
but you are the same and your years will never run out.”s
13 But to which of the angelss has he ever said, “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet”?s

14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to serve thoset who will inherit salvation?
