INTRODUCCIÓN (1.1-4)
Dios ha hablado por medio de su Hijo
1 En otros tiempos habló Dios a nuestros antepasadost muchas veces y de muchas maneras por medio de los profetas.t 2 Ahora, en estos tiempos últimos, nos ha hablado por su Hijo, mediante el cual creó los mundos y al cual ha hecho heredero de todas las cosas. 3 Él es el resplandor glorioso de Dios,t la imagen misma del ser de Dios; y es él quien sostiene todas las cosas con su palabra poderosa.t Después de limpiarnos de nuestros pecadost se ha sentado en el cielo, a la derecha del trono de Dios.t
4 Así el Hijo de Dios ha llegado a ser superior a los ángeles, pues ha recibido en herencia un título mucho más alto que el de ellos.tI. LA SUPERIORIDAD DEL HIJO DE DIOS (1.5–4.13)
El Hijo, superior a los ángeles
5 Porque Dios nunca dijo a ningún ángel:
“Tú eres mi Hijo,
yo te he engendrado hoy.”t
Ni tampoco dijo de ningún ángel:
“Yo seré un padre para él
y él será un hijo para mí.”t
6 En cambio, en otro lugar, al presentar a su Hijo primogénito en el mundo, ordena:
“Que todos los ángeles de Dios lo adoren.”t
7 Dios dice respecto de los ángeles:
“Hace que sus ángeles sean como vientos
y como llamas de fuego sus servidores.”t
8 Pero respecto del Hijo afirma:
“Tu reinado, oh Dios, es eterno
y es un reinado de justicia.
9 Has amado lo bueno y odiado lo malo;
por eso te ha escogido Dios, tu Dios,t
y te ha colmado de alegríat
más que a tus compañeros.”t
10 También dice:
“Tú, oh Señor, afirmaste la tierra
desde el principio;
tú mismo hiciste el cielo.
11 Todo ello dejará de ser,
pero tú permaneces para siempre.
Todo ello se envejecerá como la ropa,
12 ¡lo doblarás como se dobla un vestido,
lo cambiarás como quien se cambia de ropa!
Pero tú eres el mismo,
tu vida no tiene fin.”t
13 Dios nunca dijo a ninguno de sus ángeles:
“Siéntate a mi derecha
hasta que yo haga de tus enemigos
el estrado de tus pies.”t
14 Porque todos los ángeles son espíritus al servicio de Dios,t enviados en ayuda de quienes han de recibir en herencia la salvación.t

Introduction: God Has Spoken Fully and Finally in His Son
1 After God spoke long agot in various portionst and in various wayst to our ancestorst through the prophets,2 in these last days he has spoken to us in a son,ts whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he created the world.t3 The Son ist the radiance of his glory and the representation of his essence, and he sustains all things by his powerful word,t and so when he had accomplished cleansing for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.s
4 Thus he becamet so far better than the angels asts he has inherited a name superior to theirs.
The Son Is Superior to Angels
5 For to which of the angels did Godt ever say, “You are my son! Today I have fathered you”?ts And in another placet he says,t “I will be his father and he will be my son.”ts6 But when he again bringst his firstborn into the world, he says, “Let all the angels of God worship him!”s7 And he sayss of the angels, “He makesthis angels spirits and his ministers a flame of fire,”s
8 but oft the Son he says,t
“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever,t
and a righteous sceptertis the scepter of your kingdom.
9 You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness.
So God, your God, has anointed you over your companionsswith the oil of rejoicing.”s
10 And,
“You founded the earth in the beginning, Lord,s
and the heavens are the works of your hands.
11 They will perish, but you continue.
And they will all grow old like a garment,
12 and like a robe you will fold them up
and like a garmentsssthey will be changed,
but you are the same and your years will never run out.”s
13 But to which of the angelss has he ever said, “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet”?s
14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to serve thoset who will inherit salvation?
