Dieu a parlé par son Fils

1 Autrefois Dieu a parlé à nos ancêtres à maintes reprises et de plusieurs manières par les prophètes, 2 mais maintenant, à la fin des temps, il nous a parlé par son Fils. C’est par lui que Dieu a créé l’universt, et c’est à lui qu’il a destiné la propriété de toutes choses.

3 Le Fils reflète la splendeur de la gloire divine, il est la représentation exacte de ce que Dieu est, il soutient l’univers par sa parole puissante. Après avoir purifié les êtres humains de leurs péchés, il s’est assis dans les cieux à la droite de Dieut, la puissance suprême.

Le Fils est supérieur aux anges

5 En effet, Dieu n’a jamais dit à l’un de ses anges :
« C’est toi qui es mon Fils,
à partir d’aujourd’hui je suis ton Père. »
Et il n’a jamais dit à propos d’un ange :
« Je serai un Père pour lui
et il sera un Fils pour moit. »

6 Mais au moment où Dieu allait envoyer son Fils premier-né dans le monde, il a dit :
« Tous les anges de Dieu doivent l’adorer. »

7 Quant aux anges, il a dit :
« Dieu fait de ses anges des vents
et de ses serviteurs des flammes de feut. »

8 Mais au sujet du Fils, il a déclaré :
« Ton trône, ô Dieu, est établi pour toujours.
C’est avec justice que tu gouvernes ton royaume.

9 Tu aimes ce qui est juste, tu détestes le mal,
c’est pourquoi Dieu, ton Dieu, t’a consacré,
en versant sur ta tête l’huile de fête,
et t’a choisi plutôt que tes compagnonst. »

10 Il a dit aussi :
« C’est toi, Seigneur, qui au commencement as fondé la terre,
le ciel est ton ouvrage.

11 Tout cela disparaîtra, mais toi tu restes.
Terre et ciel s’useront comme de vieux habits ;

12 tu les rouleras comme un manteau,
et ils seront changés comme des vêtements.
Mais toi tu demeures le même et ta vie n’a pas de fint. »

13 Dieu n’a jamais dit à l’un de ses anges :
« Viens siéger à ma droite,
je veux contraindre tes ennemis
à te servir de marchepiedt. »
14 Les anges ne sont que des esprits au service de Dieu : il les envoie apporter de l’aide à ceux qui doivent recevoir le salut.

Hebrews 1

1 God, having of old time spoken unto the fathers in the prophets by divers portions and in divers manners,2 hath at the end of these days spoken unto us in his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds;3 who being the effulgence of his glory, and the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had made purification of sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;4 having become by so much better than the angels, as he hath inherited a more excellent name than they.5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, This day have I begotten thee? and again, I will be to him a Father, And he shall be to me a Son?

6 And when he again bringeth in the firstborn into the world he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels winds, And his ministers a flame a fire:

8 but of the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever; And the sceptre of uprightness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; Therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee With the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning didst lay the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the works of thy hands:

11 They shall perish; but thou continuest: And they all shall wax old as doth a garment;

12 And as a mantle shalt thou roll them up, As a garment, and they shall be changed: But thou art the same, And thy years shall not fail.

13 But of which of the angels hath he said at any time, Sit thou on my right hand, Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet?

14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to do service for the sake of them that shall inherit salvation?
