ヘブル人への手紙 1
一
1 ずっと昔、神様は、幻や夢や、時には直接の語りかけなどの、いろいろな方法で、預言者を通して先祖たちに、ご自分の計画を少しずつ明らかになさいました。
2 しかし今の時代には、ご自分のひとり息子を通して語っておられます。 神様はその子にすべてを受け継がせ、彼によって、世界とその中のすべてのものをお造りになったのです。
3 神の子は、神様の栄光を受けて、まばゆいばかりに輝いています。 また、その人格と行動すべてにおいて、神であることを示し、力あることばによって、宇宙を統御しておられます。 そればかりか、私たちのいっさいの罪の記録を消し去ってきよめるために、死んでくださいました。 そして今は、最高の栄誉を受けて、天におられる偉大な神様のそばに、座っておられるのです。
4 こうしてこの方は、御使いより、はるかにすぐれた存在となられました。 それは、父なる神がおつけになった「神の子」という名が、御使いたちの名や肩書きとは比べ物にならないほど、すぐれていたからです。 5 神様はどの御使いに対しても、「あなたはわたしの子だ。 今日あなたに、その名にふさわしい栄誉を与えた」などと言われたことはありません。 しかし、イエス様に対しては、そう言われたのです。 さらに、「わたしは彼の父であり、彼はわたしの子である」と宣言されました。 6 それから、長子であるイエス様を地上に送る時、「御使いはみな、彼を拝め」と言われました。
7 御使いたちについて、神様は、「風のように速い使者、燃える炎のような力を持つしもべ」と紹介しておられます。 8 しかし、神の子については、全く違っています。
「神よ。
あなたの国は永遠に続く。
その支配は、いつも公平で正しい。
9 あなたは正義を愛し、悪を憎む。
それであなたの神は、
ほかのだれよりも多く、
あなたに喜びを注がれた。」
10 そればかりか、神の子を「主」と呼んで、こう言われました。
「主よ。 あなたは世の初めに地を造った。
天も、あなたの手による作品である。
11 これらは、やがて無に帰す。
しかしあなたは、いつまでも変わらない。
すべてのものは、古着のようにすり切れる。
12 いつかあなたは、それらを捨て、
別のものと取り替える。
しかしあなたは、決して変わらず、
あなたの年齢には終わりがない。」
13 神様が御使いに、次のようなことばを、おかけになったことがありますか。
「わたしがあなたの敵を
完全に征服するまで、
わたしの右に座っていなさい。」
14 御使いは、救われる人々を助け、守るために遣わされた、霊の使者にすぎないのです。
Hebrews 1
1 God, having of old time spoken unto the fathers in the prophets by divers portions and in divers manners,2 hath at the end of these days spoken unto us in his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds;3 who being the effulgence of his glory, and the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had made purification of sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;4 having become by so much better than the angels, as he hath inherited a more excellent name than they.5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, This day have I begotten thee? and again, I will be to him a Father, And he shall be to me a Son?
6 And when he again bringeth in the firstborn into the world he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels winds, And his ministers a flame a fire:
8 but of the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever; And the sceptre of uprightness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; Therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee With the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning didst lay the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the works of thy hands:
11 They shall perish; but thou continuest: And they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
12 And as a mantle shalt thou roll them up, As a garment, and they shall be changed: But thou art the same, And thy years shall not fail.
13 But of which of the angels hath he said at any time, Sit thou on my right hand, Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet?
14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to do service for the sake of them that shall inherit salvation?
