히브리서 1

하나님께서 아들을 통하여 말씀하시다

1 하나님께서 옛날에는 예언자들을 통하여, 여러 번에 걸쳐 여러 가지 방법으로 우리 조상들에게 말씀하셨으나, 2 이 마지막 날에는 아들을 통하여 우리에게 말씀하셨습니다. 하나님께서는 이 아들을 만물의 상속자로 세우셨습니다. 그를 통하여 온 세상을 지으신 것입니다. 3 그는 하나님의 영광의 광채시요, 하나님의 본체대로의 모습이십니다. 그는 자기의 능력 있는 말씀으로 만물을 보존하시는 분이십니다. 그는 죄를 깨끗하게 하시고서 높은 곳에 계신 존엄하신 분의 오른쪽에 앉으셨습니다. 4 그는 천사들보다 훨씬 더 높게 되셨으니, 천사들보다 더 빼어난 이름을 물려받으신 것입니다.

아들은 천사보다 뛰어나시다

5 하나님께서 천사들 가운데서 누구에게 t“너는 내 아들이다. 내가 오늘 너를 낳았다” 하고 말씀하신 적이 있습니까? 또, t“나는 그의 아버지가 되고, 그는 내 아들이 될 것이다” 하고 말씀하신 적이 있습니까?

6 그러나 자기의 맏아들을 세상에 보내실 때에는 t“하나님의 천사들은 모두 그에게 경배하여라” 하고 말씀하셨습니다.

7 또 천사들에 관해서는 성경에 이르기를 t“하나님께서는 천사들을 바람으로 삼으시고, 시중꾼들을 불꽃으로 삼으신다” 하였고,

8 아들에 관해서는 성경에 이르기를 t“하나님, 주님의 보좌는 영원무궁하며, 공의의 막대기는 곧 주님의 왕권입니다.

9 주님께서는 정의를 사랑하시고, 불법을 미워하셨습니다. 그러므로 하나님 곧 주님의 하나님께서는 주님께 즐거움의 기름을 부으셔서, 주님을 주님의 동료들 위에 높이 올리셨습니다” 하였습니다.

10 또 이렇게 말하였습니다. t“주님, 주님께서는 태초에 땅의 기초를 놓으셨습니다. 하늘은 주님의 손으로 지으신 것입니다.

11 그것들은 없어질지라도, 주님께서는 영원히 존재하십니다. 그것들은 다 t옷처럼 낡을 것이요,

12 주님께서는 그것들을 두루마기처럼 말아 치우실 것이며, 그것들이 다 옷처럼 변하고 말 것입니다. 그러나 주님께서는 언제나 같으시고, 주님의 세월은 끝남이 없을 것입니다.”

13 그런데 하나님께서 천사 가운데서 누구에게 t“내가 네 원수들을 네 발 아래에 굴복시킬 때까지, 너는 내 오른쪽에 앉아 있어라” 하고 말씀하신 적이 있습니까?

14 천사들은 모두 구원의 상속자가 될 사람들을 섬기도록 보내심을 받은 영들이 아닙니까?

HEBREWS 1

1 Long ago in many ways and at many times God's prophets spoke his message to our ancestors. 2 t But now at last, God sent his Son to bring his message to us. God created the universe by his Son, and everything will someday belong to the Son.

3 t God's Son has all the brightness of God's own glory and is like him in every way. By his own mighty word, he holds the universe together.
After the Son had washed away our sins, he sat down at the right sidet of the glorious God in heaven.

4 He had become much greater than the angels, and the name he was given is far greater than any of theirs.

God's Son Is Greater than Angels

5  t God has never said
to any of the angels,
“You are my Son, because today
I have become your Father!”
Neither has God said
to any of them,
“I will be his Father,
and he will be my Son!”

6  t When God brings his first-born Sont into the world, he commands all of his angels to worship him.

7  t And when God speaks about the angels, he says,
“I change my angels into wind
and my servants
into flaming fire.”

8  t But God says about his Son,
“You are God,
and you will rule
as King forever!
Yourt royal power
brings about justice.

9 You loved justice
and hated evil,
and so I, your God,
have chosen you.
I appointed you
and made you happier
than any of your friends.”

10  t The Scriptures also say,
“In the beginning, Lord,
you were the one
who laid the foundation
of the earth
and created the heavens.

11 They will all disappear
and wear out like clothes,
but you will last forever.

12 You will roll them up
like a robe
and change them
like a garment.
But you are always the same,
and you will live forever.”

13  t God never said to any
of the angels,
“Sit at my right side
until I make your enemies
into a footstool for you!”
14  t Angels are merely spirits sent to serve people who are going to be saved.
