1 เพราะเหตุที่ธรรมบัญญัติเป็นเพียงเงาของสิ่งประเสริฐทั้งหลายที่จะมาในภายหลัง ไม่ใช่ตัวจริง จึงไม่สามารถทำให้ผู้ที่เข้าเฝ้าพระเจ้าพร้อมกับเครื่องบูชาที่พวกเขาถวายเหมือนเดิมทุกปีเสมอมานั้น ถึงความสมบูรณ์ได้ 2 เพราะถ้าทำได้ พวกเขาคงหยุดการถวายเครื่องบูชาแล้วไม่ใช่หรือ? เพราะถ้าผู้นมัสการได้รับการชำระให้บริสุทธิ์สักครั้งหนึ่งแล้ว คงจะไม่รู้สึกว่ามีบาปอีกต่อไป 3 แต่การถวายเครื่องบูชานั้นเป็นการเตือนให้คิดถึงบาปทุกปี 4 เพราะเลือดวัวผู้และเลือดแพะไม่มีทางชำระบาปให้หมดสิ้นไปได้เลย 5 เพราะฉะนั้น เมื่อพระคริสต์เสด็จเข้ามาในโลกแล้ว พระองค์ตรัสว่า “พระองค์เจ้าข้า t เครื่องสัตวบูชาและเครื่องบูชาอื่นๆ พระองค์ไม่ทรงประสงค์ แต่พระองค์ทรงจัดเตรียมกายสำหรับข้าพระองค์
6 เครื่องเผาบูชาและเครื่องบูชาลบบาปนั้น พระองค์ไม่พอพระทัย
7 แล้วข้าพระองค์ทูลว่า ‘ข้าแต่พระเจ้า ข้าพระองค์มาแล้ว เพื่อจะทำตามพระทัยของพระองค์’ ตามที่มีเรื่องข้าพระองค์เขียนไว้ในหนังสือม้วน” t
8 เมื่อพระองค์ตรัสในตอนแรกว่า “เครื่องสัตวบูชาและเครื่องบูชาอื่นๆ และเครื่องเผาบูชาและเครื่องบูชาลบบาป (ที่ได้ถวายตามธรรมบัญญัตินั้น) พระองค์ไม่ทรงประสงค์และไม่พอพระทัย” 9 แล้วพระองค์ท่านก็ตรัสด้วยว่า “ข้าพระองค์มาแล้วเพื่อจะทำตามพระทัยของพระองค์” พระองค์ท่านทรงยกเลิกระบบเดิมนั้นเสียเพื่อจะทรงตั้งระบบใหม่ 10 และโดยพระประสงค์นั้นเอง เราจึงได้รับการชำระให้บริสุทธิ์ โดยการถวายพระกายของพระเยซูคริสต์ครั้งเดียวเป็นพอ 11 ส่วนปุโรหิตทุกคนก็ยืนปฏิบัติกิจอยู่ทุกวัน โดยการนำเครื่องบูชาอย่างเดียวกันมาถวายเสมอๆ เครื่องบูชาเหล่านั้นไม่มีวันลบล้างบาปได้เลยt 12 แต่เมื่อพระคริสต์ทรงถวายเครื่องบูชาเพื่อลบบาปtเพียงครั้งเดียวสำหรับตลอดไปแล้ว พระองค์ก็ประทับเบื้องขวาของพระเจ้า 13 เพื่อทรงคอยอยู่จนกว่าศัตรูของพระองค์ถูกนำมาเป็นที่รองพระบาทของพระองค์t 14 โดยการถวายบูชาเพียงครั้งเดียว พระองค์ก็ทรงทำให้คนทั้งหลายที่ได้รับการชำระให้บริสุทธิ์แล้วนั้นถึงความสมบูรณ์ตลอดไป 15 และพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ก็ทรงเป็นพยานแก่เราด้วย เพราะหลังจากที่พระองค์ตรัสว่า 16 “องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า t ตรัสว่า นี่คือพันธสัญญาซึ่งเราจะทำกับเขาทั้งหลาย หลังจากสมัยนั้น เราจะบรรจุธรรมบัญญัติของเราไว้ในใจของพวกเขา และเราจะจารึกมันไว้ในจิตใจของพวกเขา” t
17 “และเราจะไม่จดจำ บาปของพวกเขา และการอธรรมของพวกเขาอีกต่อไป” t
18 เมื่อมีการยกโทษบาปแล้ว ก็ไม่มีการถวายเครื่องบูชาเพื่อลบบาปอีกต่อไป
คำกำชับและคำเตือน
19 เพราะฉะนั้น พี่น้องทั้งหลาย เมื่อเรามีใจกล้าที่จะเข้าไปในสถานศักดิ์สิทธิ์โดยพระโลหิตของพระเยซู 20 ตามทางใหม่และเป็นทางที่มีชีวิต ซึ่งพระองค์ทรงเปิดให้เราผ่านเข้าไปทางม่านนั้น คือทางพระกายของพระองค์ 21 และเมื่อเรามีปุโรหิตใหญ่เหนือหมู่คนของพระเจ้าแล้ว 22 ก็ให้เราเข้าไปใกล้ด้วยใจจริง ด้วยความไว้ใจเต็มที่ มีใจที่ได้รับการประพรมให้พ้นจากtมโนธรรมที่ไม่ดีt และมีกายที่ล้างชำระด้วยน้ำสะอาดt 23 ขอให้เรายังคงยึดมั่นในความหวังที่ประกาศรับไว้นั้นโดยไม่หวั่นไหว เพราะว่าพระองค์ผู้ประทานพระสัญญานั้นทรงซื่อสัตย์ 24 และขอให้เราพิจารณาดูเพื่อจะปลุกใจกันและกันให้มีความรักและทำความดีt 25 อย่าขาดการประชุมเหมือนอย่างบางคนทำเป็นนิสัย แต่จงหนุนใจกันให้มากยิ่งขึ้น เพราะพวกท่านก็รู้อยู่ว่าวันนั้นใกล้เข้ามาแล้ว
26 เพราะถ้าเรายังจงใจทำบาปอยู่เรื่อยๆ หลังจากได้รับความรู้เรื่องความจริงแล้ว ก็จะไม่มีเครื่องบูชาลบบาปเหลืออยู่เลย 27 แต่จะมีความหวาดกลัวในการรอคอยการพิพากษาและไฟอันร้ายแรง ซึ่งจะเผาผลาญบรรดาศัตรูtt 28 ส่วนคนที่ละเมิดธรรมบัญญัติของโมเสสนั้น ถ้ามีพยานสักสองหรือสามปาก ก็จะต้องตายโดยปราศจากความปรานีt 29 แล้วพวกท่านคิดดูซิว่าคนที่เหยียบย่ำพระบุตรของพระเจ้า และถือว่าพระโลหิตแห่งพันธสัญญาt ซึ่งชำระเขาให้บริสุทธิ์นั้นเป็นมลทิน และดูหมิ่นพระวิญญาณแห่งพระคุณ สมควรจะถูกลงโทษหนักกว่าสักเท่าใด 30 เพราะว่าเรารู้จักพระองค์ผู้ตรัสว่า
“การแก้แค้นเป็นของเรา เราจะตอบสนอง”

และตรัสอีกว่า
“องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าจะทรงพิพากษาประชากรของพระองค์”

31 การตกอยู่ในพระหัตถ์ของพระเจ้าผู้ทรงพระชนม์นั้นเป็นสิ่งที่น่าหวาดกลัว
32 แต่ท่านทั้งหลายจงระลึกถึงคราวก่อนนั้น หลังจากที่ได้รับความสว่างแล้ว พวกท่านได้สู้ทนต่อความยากลำบากอย่างใหญ่หลวง 33 บางทีท่านก็ถูกประจานให้อับอายขายหน้าและถูกข่มเหง บางทีท่านก็ร่วมทุกข์กับคนที่ถูกกระทำเช่นนั้น 34 เพราะว่าท่านทั้งหลายมีใจเมตตาต่อผู้ที่ถูกคุมขังเหล่านั้น และเมื่อมีคนปล้นชิงเอาทรัพย์สิ่งของของท่านไป ท่านก็ยอมให้ด้วยใจยินดี เพราะท่านรู้แล้วว่าท่านมีทรัพย์สมบัติที่ดีกว่าและถาวรกว่านั้นอีก 35 เพราะฉะนั้น อย่าละทิ้งความไว้วางใจของท่าน อันจะนำมาซึ่งบำเหน็จยิ่งใหญ่ 36 ท่านทั้งหลายจำเป็นต้องมีความทรหดอดทน เพื่อท่านจะสามารถทำตามพระทัยของพระเจ้าได้ แล้วท่านก็จะได้รับสิ่งที่ทรงสัญญาไว้นั้นt 37 เพราะอีก เพียงไม่นาน พระองค์ผู้จะเสด็จมาก็จะเสด็จมาและจะไม่ทรงชักช้า
38 แต่คนชอบธรรมของเรานั้นจะดำรงชีวิตอยู่ด้วยความเชื่อ และถ้าเขาหันกลับ เราจะไม่มีความพอใจในคนนั้นเลย t
39 แต่พวกเราเองไม่ใช่พวกที่หันกลับ และถึงซึ่งความพินาศ แต่เป็นพวกที่เชื่อมั่น จึงทำให้ชีวิตปลอดภัย
Hebrews 10
1 For the law having a shadow of the good things to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect them that draw nigh.2 Else would they not have ceased to be offered? because the worshippers, having been once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins.3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance made of sins year by year.4 For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins.5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, But a body didst thou prepare for me;
6 In whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hadst no pleasure:
7 Then said I, Lo, I am come (In the roll of the book it is written of me) To do thy will, O God.
8 Saying above, Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein (the which are offered according to the law),9 then hath he said, Lo, I am come to do thy will. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.10 By which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.11 And every priest indeed standeth day by day ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, the which can never take away sins:12 but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;13 henceforth expecting till his enemies be made the footstool of his feet.14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.15 And the Holy Spirit also beareth witness to us; for after he hath said,
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them After those days, saith the Lord: I will put my laws on their heart, And upon their mind also will I write them; then saith he,
17 And their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus,20 by the way which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;21 and having a great priest over the house of God;22 let us draw near with a true heart in fulness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience: and having our body washed with pure water,23 let us hold fast the confession of our hope that it waver not; for he is faithful that promised:24 and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and good works;25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as ye see the day drawing nigh.26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more a sacrifice for sins,27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and a fierceness of fire which shall devour the adversaries.28 A man that hath set at nought Moses law dieth without compassion on the word of two or three witnesses:29 of how much sorer punishment, think ye, shall he be judged worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant wherewith he was sanctified an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?30 For we know him that said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.32 But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were enlightened, ye endured a great conflict of sufferings;33 partly, being made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, becoming partakers with them that were so used.34 For ye both had compassion on them that were in bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of you possessions, knowing that ye have for yourselves a better possession and an abiding one.35 Cast not away therefore your boldness, which hath great recompense of reward.36 For ye have need of patience, that, having done the will of God, ye may receive the promise.
37 For yet a very little while, He that cometh shall come, and shall not tarry.
38 But my righteous one shall live by faith: And if he shrink back, my soul hath no pleasure in him.
39 But we are not of them that shrink back unto perdition; but of them that have faith unto the saving of the soul.
