خُدا ہمارا باپ

1 پس جب کہ گواہوں کا اَیسا بڑا بادل ہمیں گھیرے ہُوئے ہے تو آؤ ہم بھی ہر ایک بوجھ اور اُس گُناہ کو جو ہمیں آسانی سے اُلجھا لیتا ہے دُور کر کے اُس دَوڑ میں صبرسے دَوڑیں جو ہمیں دَرپیش ہے۔

2 اور اِیمان کے بانی اور کامِل کرنے والے یِسُوع کو تکتے رہیں جِس نے اُس خُوشی کے لِئے جو اُس کی نظروں کے سامنے تھی شرمِندگی کی پروا ہ نہ کر کے صلِیب کا دُکھ سہا اور خُدا کے تخت کی د ہنی طرف جا بَیٹھا۔
3 پس اُس پر غَور کرو جِس نے اپنے حق میں بُرائی کرنے والے گُنہگاروں کی اِس قدر مُخالِفت کی برداشت کی تاکہ تُم بے دِل ہو کر ہِمّت نہ ہارو۔ 4 تُم نے گُناہ سے لڑنے میں اب تک اَیسا مُقابلہ نہیں کِیا جِس میں خُون بہا ہو۔

5 اور تُم اُس نصِیحت کو بُھول گئے جو تُمہیں فرزندوں کی طرح کی جاتی ہے کہ
اَے میرے بیٹے! خُداوند کی تنبِیہ کو ناچِیز نہ جان
اور جب وہ تُجھے ملامت کرے تو بے دِل نہ ہو۔

6 کیونکہ جِس سے خُداوند مُحبّت رکھتا ہے اُسے تنبِیہ
بھی کرتا ہے
اور جِس کو بیٹا بنا لیتا ہے اُس کے کوڑے بھی لگاتا
ہے۔
7 تُم جو کُچھ دُکھ سہتے ہو وہ تُمہاری تربِیّت کے لِئے ہے ۔ خُدا فرزند جان کر تُمہارے ساتھ سلُوک کرتا ہے ۔ وہ کَون سا بیٹا ہے جِسے باپ تنبِیہ نہیں کرتا؟۔ 8 اور اگر تُمہیں وہ تنبِیہ نہ کی گئی جِس میں سب شرِیک ہیں تو تُم حرام زادے ٹھہرے نہ کہ بیٹے۔ 9 علاوہ اِس کے جب ہمارے جِسمانی باپ ہمیں تنبِیہ کرتے تھے اور ہم اُن کی تعظِیم کرتے رہے تو کیا رُوحوں کے باپ کی اِس سے زِیادہ تابِعداری نہ کریں جِس سے ہم زِندہ رہیں؟۔ 10 وہ تو تھوڑے دِنوں کے واسطے اپنی سمجھ کے مُوافِق تنبِیہ کرتے تھے مگر یہ ہمارے فائِدہ کے لِئے کرتا ہے تاکہ ہم بھی اُس کی پاکِیزگی میں شامِل ہو جائیں۔

11 اور بِالفعل ہر قِسم کی تنبِیہ خُوشی کا نہیں بلکہ غم کا باعِث معلُوم ہوتی ہے مگر جو اُس کو سہتے سہتے پُختہ ہو گئے ہیں اُن کو بعد میں چَین کے ساتھ راست بازی کا پَھل بخشتی ہے۔

نصِیحتیں اور اِنتباہات

13 اور اپنے پاؤں کے لِئے سِیدھے راستے بناؤ تاکہ لنگڑا بے راہ نہ ہو بلکہ شِفا پائے۔
14 سب کے ساتھ میل مِلاپ رکھنے اور اُس پاکِیزگی کے طالِب رہو جِس کے بغَیر کوئی خُداوند کو نہ دیکھے گا۔ 15 غَور سے دیکھتے رہو کہ کوئی شخص خُدا کے فضل سے محرُوم نہ رہ جائے ۔ اَیسا نہ ہو کہ کوئی کڑوی جڑ پُھوٹ کر تُمہیں دُکھ دے اور اُس کے سبب سے اکثر لوگ ناپاک ہو جائیں۔ 16 اور نہ کوئی حرام کار یا عیسو کی طرح بے دِین ہو جِس نے ایک وقت کے کھانے کے عِوض اپنے پہلوٹھے ہونے کا حق بیچ ڈالا۔

17 کیونکہ تُم جانتے ہو کہ اِس کے بعد جب اُس نے برکت کا وارِث ہونا چاہا تو منظُور نہ ہُؤا ۔ چُنانچہ اُس کو نِیّت کی تبدِیلی کا مَوقع نہ مِلا گو اُس نے آنسُو بہا بہا کر اُس کی بڑی تلاش کی۔
18 تُم اُس پہاڑ کے پاس نہیں آئے جِس کو چُھونا مُمکِن تھا اور وہ آگ سے جَلتا تھا اور اُس پر کالی گھٹا اور تارِیکی اور طُوفان۔ 19 اور نرسِنگے کا شور اور کلام کرنے والے کی اَیسی آواز تھی جِس کے سُننے والوں نے درخواست کی کہ ہم سے اَور کلام نہ کِیا جائے۔ 20 کیونکہ وہ اِس حُکم کی برداشت نہ کر سکے کہ اگر کوئی جانور بھی اُس پہاڑ کو چُھوئے تو سنگسار کِیا جائے۔

21 اور وہ نظّارہ اَیسا ڈراؤنا تھا کہ مُوسیٰ نے کہا مَیں نِہایت ڈرتا اور کانپتا ہُوں۔
22 بلکہ تُم صِیُّون کے پہاڑ اور زِندہ خُدا کے شہر یعنی آسمانی یروشلِیم کے پاس اور لاکھوں فرِشتوں۔ 23 اور اُن پہلوٹھوں کی عام جماعت یعنی کلِیسیا جِن کے نام آسمان پر لِکھے ہیں اور سب کے مُنصِف خُدا اور کامِل کِئے ہُوئے راستبازوں کی رُوحوں۔

24 اور نئے عہد کے درمِیانی یِسُو ع اور چِھڑکاؤ کے اُس خُون کے پاس آئے ہو جو ہابِل کے خُون کی نِسبت بِہتر باتیں کہتا ہے۔
25 خبردار! اُس کہنے والے کا اِنکار نہ کرنا کیونکہ جب وہ لوگ زمِین پر ہدایت کرنے والے کا اِنکار کر کے نہ بچ سکے تو ہم آسمان پر کے ہدایت کرنے والے سے مُنہ موڑ کر کیوں کر بچ سکیں گے؟۔ 26 اُس کی آواز نے اُس وقت تو زمِین کو ہِلا دِیا مگر اب اُس نے یہ وعدہ کِیا ہے کہ ایک بار پِھر مَیں فقط زمِین ہی کو نہیں بلکہ آسمان کو بھی ہِلا دُوں گا۔

27 اور یہ عِبارت کہ ایک بار پِھر اِس بات کو ظاہِر کرتی ہے کہ جو چِیزیں ہِلا دی جاتی ہیں مخلُوق ہونے کے باعِث ٹل جائیں گی تاکہ بے ہِلی چِیزیں قائِم رہیں۔
28 پس ہم وہ بادشاہی پا کر جو ہِلنے کی نہیں اُس فضل کو ہاتھ سے نہ دیں جِس کے سبب سے پسندِیدہ طَور پر خُدا کی عِبادت خُدا ترسی اور خَوف کے ساتھ کریں۔ 29 کیونکہ ہمارا خُدا بھسم کرنے والی آگ ہے۔

Hebrews 12

Jesus, the Example

1 Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

3 For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

A Father's Discipline

4 You have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood in your striving against sin;5 and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons,
"MY SON, DO NOT REGARD LIGHTLY THE DISCIPLINE OF THE LORD,
NOR FAINT WHEN YOU ARE REPROVED BY HIM;

6 FOR THOSE WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE DISCIPLINES,
AND HE SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES."7 It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline?8 But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.9 Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live?10 For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good, so that we may share His holiness.11 All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.

12 Therefore, strengthen the hands that are weak and the knees that are feeble,13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be healed.

14 Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord.15 See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled;16 that there be no immoral or godless person like Esau, who sold his own birthright for a single meal.17 For you know that even afterwards, when he desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought for it with tears.

Contrast of Sinai and Zion

18 For you have not come to a mountain that can be touched and to a blazing fire, and to darkness and gloom and whirlwind,19 and to the blast of a trumpet and the sound of words which sound was such that those who heard begged that no further word be spoken to them.20 For they could not bear the command, "IF EVEN A BEAST TOUCHES THE MOUNTAIN, IT WILL BE STONED."21 And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, "I AM FULL OF FEAR and trembling."22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels,23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect,24 and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel.

The Unshaken Kingdom

25 See to it that you do not refuse Him who is speaking. For if those did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape who turn away from Him who warns from heaven.26 And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, "YET ONCE MORE I WILL SHAKE NOT ONLY THE EARTH, BUT ALSO THE HEAVEN."27 This expression, "Yet once more," denotes the removing of those things which can be shaken, as of created things, so that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.28 Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe;29 for our God is a consuming fire.
