Ultime disposizioni e saluti.

1 Continuate ad amarvi come fratelli.2 E non dimenticate di essere ospitali verso gli stranieri, perché alcuni, facendo così, hanno accolto senza saperlo degli angeli!3 Ricordatevi dei carcerati. Soffrite con loro, come se anche voi foste in carcere. Non dimenticate quelli che sono maltrattati, perché ben sapete che cosa provano.4 Rispettate il matrimonio e siate fedeli, perché Dio sicuramente punirà gli immorali e gli adulteri.5 Non agite spinti dall’amore per il denaro. Accontentatevi di ciò che avete, perché Dio stesso ha detto: « Io non ti lascerò, né ti abbandonerò mai ».6 Questa è la ragione per cui possiamo dire senza dubbi, né timori: « Il Signore è il mio aiuto, non avrò paura di niente. Che mi potrebbero fare gli uomini? »7 Ricordatevi di quelli che vi hanno guidato e vi hanno insegnato la Parola di Dio. Guardate come sono vissuti e come sono morti, e imitate la loro fede.8 Gesù Cristo è lo stesso, ieri, oggi e sempre!9 Perciò non lasciatevi trascinare da idee nuove e strane. La vostra forza spirituale è un dono di Dio e non viene da certe pratiche, come mangiare o meno certi cibi: pratiche che non sono servite a niente a chi le ha osservate.10 Noi abbiamo un altare, la croce dove Cristo fu sacrificato, dove non possono trovare aiuto quelli che vogliono ottenere la salvezza osservando le leggi ebraiche.11 Secondo il sistema delle leggi ebraiche; il sommo sacerdote porta nel Luogo Santissimo il sangue degli animali e lo offre come sacrificio per i peccati. Poi i corpi di questi animali vengono bruciati fuori dall’accampamento.12 Ecco perché anche Gesù, per lavare i nostri peccati col suo sangue, soffrì e morì fuori città.13 Andiamo, quindi, da lui, oltre le mura della città, al di là degli interessi di questo mondo, pronti ad essere disprezzati per soffrire con lui, portando la sua stessa umiliazione.14 Perché questo mondo non è la nostra casa, ma siamo in attesa della nostra casa eterna in cielo.15 Con l’aiuto di Gesù, offriamo dunque, continuamente a Dio il nostro sacrificio di lode, cioè il frutto delle nostre labbra che confessano pubblicamente il suo nome.16 Non dimenticate di fare beneficenza e di dividere ciò che avete con quelli che ne hanno bisogno, perché sono questi i sacrifici che piacciono molto al Signore.17 Obbedite a quelli che dirigono le chiese e fate volentieri ciò che vi suggeriscono, perché è loro compito sorvegliare le vostre anime, di cui dovranno rendere conto a Dio. Fate in modo che possano farlo con gioia, e non malvolentieri: questo non gioverebbe neppure a voi.18 Pregate per noi, perché la nostra coscienza è tranquilla e desideriamo continuare su questa strada.19 Soprattutto vi chiedo di pregare perché io possa tornare al più presto da voi.20-21 Io prego per voi il Signore che dà la pace. È stato lui che, grazie al sangue del patto eterno, ha resuscitato dai morti il nostro Signore Gesù, il grande pastore delle pecore. Lo prego che vi renda perfettamente capaci di fare il bene, in modo che possiate fare la sua volontà e, per mezzo della forza di Cristo, compia in voi tutto ciò che gli è gradito. A lui sia la gloria per sempre, in eterno! Amen.22 Vi prego, fratelli, di ascoltare con attenzione queste mie parole di esortazione; proprio per questo vi ho scritto una lettera breve.23 Voglio che sappiate che il fratello Timòteo è stato rimesso in libertà. Se arriverà presto, verrò con lui a trovarvi.24 Salutate tutti quelli che dirigono la vostra comunità e tutti i fratelli cristiani. I credenti italiani vi salutano.25 La grazia di Dio sia con tutti voi. Amen.

Hebrews 13

1 Let love of the brethren continue.2 Forget not to show love unto strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; them that are illtreated, as being yourselves also in the body.4 Let marriage be had in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.5 Be ye free from the love of money; content with such things as ye have: for himself hath said, I will in no wise fail thee, neither will I in any wise forsake thee.6 So that with good courage we say, The Lord is my helper; I will not fear: What shall man do unto me?

7 Remember them that had the rule over you, men that spake unto you the word of God; and considering the issue of their life, imitate their faith.8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and to-day, yea and for ever.9 Be not carried away by divers and strange teachings: for it is good that the heart be established by grace; not by meats, wherein they that occupied themselves were not profited.10 We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat that serve the tabernacle.11 For the bodies of those beasts whose blood is brought into the holy place by the high priest as an offering for sin, are burned without the camp.12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people through his own blood, suffered without the gate.13 Let us therefore go forth unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.14 For we have not here an abiding city, but we seek after the city which is to come.15 Through him then let us offer up a sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of lips which make confession to his name.16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit to them: for they watch in behalf of your souls, as they that shall give account; that they may do this with joy, and not with grief: for this were unprofitable for you.18 Pray for us: for we are persuaded that we have a good conscience, desiring to live honorably in all things.19 And I exhort you the more exceedingly to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.20 Now the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep with the blood of an eternal covenant, even our Lord Jesus,21 make you perfect in every good thing to do his will, working in us that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be the glory for ever and ever. Amen.22 But I exhort you, brethren, bear with the word of exhortation, for I have written unto you in few words.23 Know ye that our brother Timothy hath been set at liberty; with whom, if he come shortly, I will see you.24 Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you.25 Grace be with you all. Amen.
