Esortazioni varie; saluti

1 L'amor fraterno rimanga tra di voi.

2 Non dimenticate l'ospitalità; perché alcuni praticandola, senza saperlo, hanno ospitato angeli.

3 Ricordatevi dei carcerati, come se foste in carcere con loro; e di quelli che sono maltrattati, come se anche voi lo foste!

4 Il matrimonio sia tenuto in onore da tutti e il letto coniugale non sia macchiato da infedeltà; poiché Dio giudicherà i fornicatori e gli adúlteri.
5 La vostra condotta non sia dominata dall'amore del denaro; siate contenti delle cose che avete; perché Dio stesso ha detto: «Io non ti lascerò e non ti abbandonerò».

6 Cosí noi possiamo dire con piena fiducia: «Il Signore è il mio aiuto; non temerò. Che cosa potrà farmi l'uomo?»

7 Ricordatevi dei vostri conduttori, i quali vi hanno annunziato la parola di Dio; e considerando quale sia stata la fine della loro vita, imitate la loro fede.
8 Gesú Cristo è lo stesso ieri, oggi e in eterno.9 Non vi lasciate trasportare qua e là da diversi e strani insegnamenti; perché è bene che il cuore sia reso saldo dalla grazia, non da pratiche relative a vivande, dalle quali non trassero alcun beneficio quelli che le osservavano.10 Noi abbiamo un altare al quale non hanno diritto di mangiare quelli che servono al tabernacolo.11 Infatti i corpi degli animali il cui sangue è portato dal sommo sacerdote nel santuario quale offerta per il peccato, sono arsi fuori dell'accampamento.12 Perciò anche Gesú, per santificare il popolo con il proprio sangue, soffrí fuori della porta della città.13 Usciamo quindi fuori dall'accampamento e andiamo a lui portando il suo obbrobrio.14 Perché non abbiamo quaggiú una città stabile, ma cerchiamo quella futura.15 Per mezzo di Gesú, dunque, offriamo continuamente a Dio un sacrificio di lode: cioè, il frutto di labbra che confessano il suo nome.

16 Non dimenticate poi di esercitare la beneficenza e di mettere in comune ciò che avete; perché è di tali sacrifici che Dio si compiace.

17 Ubbidite ai vostri conduttori e sottomettetevi a loro, perché essi vegliano per le vostre anime come chi deve renderne conto, affinché facciano questo con gioia e non sospirando; perché ciò non vi sarebbe di alcuna utilità.
18 Pregate per noi; infatti siamo convinti di avere una buona coscienza, e siamo decisi a condurci onestamente in ogni cosa.

19 Ma ancor piú vi esorto a farlo, affinché io vi sia restituito al piú presto.
20 Or il Dio della pace che in virtú del sangue del patto eterno ha tratto dai morti il grande pastore delle pecore, il nostro Signore Gesú,

21 vi renda perfetti in ogni bene, affinché facciate la sua volontà, e operi in voi ciò che è gradito davanti a lui, per mezzo di Gesú Cristo; a lui sia la gloria nei secoli dei secoli. Amen.

22 Ora, fratelli, sopportate con pazienza, vi prego, la mia parola di esortazione perché vi ho scritto brevemente.

23 Sappiate che il nostro fratello Timoteo è stato messo in libertà; con lui, se viene presto, verrò a vedervi.

24 Salutate tutti i vostri conduttori e tutti i santi. Quelli d'Italia vi salutano.

25 La grazia sia con tutti voi.

HEBREWS 13

Service That Pleases God

1 Keep being concerned about each other as the Lord's followers should.

2  t Be sure to welcome strangers into your home. By doing this, some people have welcomed angels as guests, without even knowing it.

3 Remember the Lord's people who are in jail and be concerned for them. Don't forget those who are suffering, but imagine you are there with them.

4  t Have respect for marriage. Always be faithful to your partner, because God will punish anyone who is immoral or unfaithful in marriage.
5  t Don't fall in love with money. Be satisfied with what you have. The Lord has promised that he will not leave us or desert us.

6 t This should make you feel like saying,
“The Lord helps me!
Why should I be afraid
of what people
can do to me?”

7 Don't forget about your leaders who taught you God's message. Remember what kind of lives they lived and try to have faith like theirs.
8 Jesus Christ never changes! He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. 9 Don't be fooled by any kind of strange teachings. It is better to receive strength from God's gift of undeserved grace than to depend on certain foods. After all, these foods don't really help the people who eat them.

10 But we have an altar where even the priests who serve in the place of worship have no right to eat.
11  t After the high priest offers the blood of animals as a sin offering, the bodies of those animals are burned outside the camp. 12 Jesus himself suffered outside the city gate, so his blood would make people holy. 13 This is why we should go outside the camp to Jesus and share in his disgrace.

14 On this earth we don't have a city that lasts forever, but we are waiting for such a city.
15 Our sacrifice is to keep offering praise to God in the name of Jesus.

16 But don't forget to help others and to share your possessions with them. This too is like offering a sacrifice that pleases God.

17 Obey your leaders and do what they say. They are watching over you, and they must answer to God. So don't make them sad as they do their work. Make them happy. Otherwise, they won't be able to help you at all.
18 Pray for us. Our consciences are clear, and we always try to live right.

19 I especially want you to pray that I can visit you again soon.

Final Prayers and Greetings

21 t I pray God will make you ready to obey him and that you will always be eager to do right. May Jesus help you do what pleases God. To Jesus Christ be glory forever and ever! Amen.

22 My friends, I have written only a short letter to encourage you, and I beg you to pay close attention to what I have said.

23 By now you surely must know that our friend Timothy is out of jail. If he gets here in time, I will bring him with me when I come to visit you.

24 Please give my greetings to your leaders and to the rest of the Lord's people.
